A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Bezos Goes Down

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 15, 2019

The Panda hits 3 home runs in a 2012 World Series Game. Two years later he catches the final out for the 2014 World Series win. Then 5 years after that he hits a bomb off Zach Davies and Mac Dog wins a $25 Amazon gift card. This dude just keeps bringing it at the highest level for us, eh?

All the hoopla of the gift card win overshadowed a 1 bomb/2sb game from Mr. 1.0 himself.

Mac Dog shoot me an addy and I’ll send this bitch out on Monday. bigflavor77@gmail.com

Looking at Panda’s 🐼 contract, there is a $17 million dollar club option for 2020 with a $5 million buyout.
Obviously, no one’s giving him $17 million, but who pays the buyout? Assuming it’s the Giants, they would probably love to deal him just to save that money and would accept next to nothing in return. Or would they pay the buyout and try to sign him cheap for another year or two?

    • zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:55 am

Good questions. I haven’t seen anyone in the media talking about it.

  2. Flavor said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:19 am

Marty Lurie is jizzing about our guys hitting 3 home runs last night wondering if it’s a sign of things to come. Newsflash: It is not hard to hit home runs anymore, IN ANY PARK. If we aren’t doing it regularly it’s because our hitters SUCK. Hitting 3 home runs in a game is commonplace even for the shittiest teams. Hell, Hunter Renfroe hit 3 last night all by himself and I think that’s the second time he’s done that this year.

  3. zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:55 am

    Congrats, Mac!

  4. alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:56 am

    Congrats Macdog!
I Should of never bet against the MVP not named Will, Panda🐼has been a revelation most of probably didn’t see happen ( I know I was one)but Boch who always had faith in him, probably when he could hear the sound of the bat cracking hard when he hit the ball.
I’m a huge Hunter Renfroe fan, that guy is a stud, power very impressive, arm a bazooka, solid Defense ,Padres are so stupid they don’t even use him everyday, and I read on MlBTR most Padres are on the block except Machado &Hosmer&Tatis(lol with both Machado&Hosmer contracts!)
Division rival are not, big deal I would give up Bum& Panik for Hunter Renfroe in a heartbeat with other possible players are prospects involved..

It’s crazy you guys don’t think Fat bottomed Girls isn’t a great song

    • zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 9:08 am

      I do think it isn’t a great song. 🙂

    • snarkk said, on June 15, 2019 at 11:13 am

      I like it a lot.
It’s fun to hear it in the car rolling down the freeway.
      But, nah, it’s not a great song…

  7. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:09 am

overshadowed the Giants not allowing any bombs either, including pomeranz. I thought coming in last night might be HR Derby for them. Instead 0. Giants might be years away from power surge—nothing more important than preventing them. They did same thing in LA series and made it very competitive.

um Pillar’s exploits also made up for that first steal, getting thrown out at 3b for final out of the inning as he took off for 3b after errant throw only to see 2b had backed up the play and nailed him easily.

  8. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:13 am

Honest, I just can’t listen to Lurie, who rarely makes sense imo or any of Giants pregame/postgame.. And with AmyG getting the postgame interview after a W, my cue to check out.

Hey Flav, I sent you a message on Facebook. Thank you very much!

    • Flavor said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:41 am

got it and congrats! Glad someone was finally able to take that down even though it would have been me if he hadn’t bombed with Pillar bombing 2 innings later. I’ll take this loss to the grave with me, my man.

      • Macdog said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:43 am

Ha, I was thinking same when Pillar hit that bomb.

  10. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:43 am

Finals are over, but Jenkins did have something interesting to say—injuries to GS sure change landscape of West conference. Kings have 3 picks I believe all in 2nd round, where plenty of good players should still be. And with all the big money FAs out there, someone in West could get lot stronger in a hurry.

    • Flavor said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:49 am

one thing I am certain of: Moving into this new building, Lacob will give zero fucks about the luxury tax. I’m not sure what the rules are when it comes to blowing past that bad boy but I expect him to do something big in free agency this year….

      • alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 9:01 am

Agree,Lacob is very aggressive (and I dig that about him) need some pieces for the original big 3 Klay,Steph,Draymond, no problem I’ll get you Durant, need more depth? How about Counsins..He will go out and work his magic again, I have no doubt..

  11. alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 9:50 am

Max Muncy&Kike Hernandez wearing t-shirts during batting practice that says: “Go get it out of the Ocean”
Yeah Bum pitches Thursday in LA?this should be a heated up game…

    • zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 10:11 am

Dodger fans hate Bumgarner. He’s Draymond Green to them. Guys like Bum and Green win the rings, though. They’re warriors (small w) who just refuse to lose, and don’t lose gracefully, because it’s so personal with them.
Muncy and Hernandez are giving the Dodger fans what they want, a chance to rip and laugh at Bum.
The funny thing is, Bum could still end up facing them in the playoffs. Should be interesting.

    • unca_chuck said, on June 15, 2019 at 10:47 am

Thus proving how stupid he is.

  12. unca_chuck said, on June 15, 2019 at 10:47 am

Was was gonna go with Pillar (close) but I went the stupid route and went with Pomeranz. I always go with the outlier.

  13. Bozo said, on June 15, 2019 at 11:02 am

Loo, if I’m reading this right, the Sox are on the hook for the buyout or they have to pay another $17 mil per their original contract with Pablo. When he gets the buyout he will be a FA and i doubt he’ll be asking the league minimum that the Giants have been paying him.
    https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/san-francisco-giants/pablo-sandoval-5355/

  14. snarkk said, on June 15, 2019 at 11:21 am

I’m pretty sure in a DFA situation where the player becomes a free agent, which is the case with Boston/Pablo, the new team has nothing to do with the prior contract. Giants signed him to a league minimum deal, Giants have no responsibility to perform under the Red Sox contract, they did not take it on…

  15. alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 11:26 am

Tim Lincecum turns 35 today, Happy Birthday Timmeh!! a Giant fixture forever!👍🎂🍻🎉🥳 ⚾️

        No.

  16. djloo27 said, on June 15, 2019 at 11:31 am

So I guess Pablo is fairly likely to be dealt around the deadline…

  17. xoot said, on June 15, 2019 at 1:47 pm

MadBum has changed his walk up/warmup music to Sturgill Simpson. I’m impressed

    • xoot said, on June 15, 2019 at 1:57 pm

His dominance seems to have lasted only one inning however

  18. alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 2:01 pm

    Pillar are you kidding me?
That was as bad as it gets not catching that can of corn!

  19. unca_chuck said, on June 15, 2019 at 2:03 pm

Fuuuuuuck. Pillar slowed up and whiffed. Of course, Bummie goes into BP mode as the runs won’t count anyway.

  20. zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 2:04 pm

Should have traded Bum after the last game. He pitched great in that game.

  21. unca_chuck said, on June 15, 2019 at 2:11 pm

    Vogt early Vogt often.

Dubs sign KD and KT to max deals they will pay ~ $350 M in luxury tax. So all together 3/4$ Billion. What if they don’t come back to prior level? Add in an aging Stepf and in 3 years fans who now are spoiled by winning will jump ship and new Chase will look like weekday Giant games Empty

  25. unca_chuck said, on June 15, 2019 at 2:40 pm

This is where I’d like to see Belt expand the plate a little.

      • xoot said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:16 pm

Yeah apparently he had one strange year. I’ve never heard a drive smack off the bricks as loudly as Vogt’s first triple did today.

    • Flavor said, on June 15, 2019 at 4:01 pm

Pillar too. Scoring from first base when Yelich mishandled that ball—that doesn’t happen unless a gamer with his speed isn’t all out from the get go

A 2020 outfield of Pillar-Ozuna-Puig would give us some POP – and a little excitement…

  38. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 4:51 pm

Lakers to get Anthony Davis. Costs them 3 No. 1s, including this year’s 4th pick in draft plus Ingram Ball and Hart.

  39. djloo27 said, on June 15, 2019 at 4:51 pm

We’re only like 8 out of the WC! Maybe less after today…

  40. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 4:52 pm

Maybe lurie is onto something after all. 15 hits today? And a W without any bombs.

  41. alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 4:53 pm

    Lakers trade for Anthony Davis!
Pelicans get Ball( lol) Ingram,&Hart plus 3,1st Rd picks including the 4th pick in this draft!
Quite a haul for Pelicans especially for the future.
Lakers will probably still go after Kemba Walker free agent PG.

  42. alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 4:55 pm

    Nice job scooping me Willied!

    • willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 5:17 pm

just got home happened to see it on cbs site. So NO gets Zion at #1 and the #4 pick too, plus a legit starter in Ingram. Not as down on Ball as some others-willing passer who will push ball up the floor and good rebounder too. LA, especially last year with Rondo and ball hogging LB, a terrible fit for him.

  43. snarkk said, on June 15, 2019 at 5:06 pm

I will enjoy seeing the Lakers and Coach LeBron continue to suck after giving away half the team and a ton of future first round pix…

  44. djloo27 said, on June 15, 2019 at 5:52 pm

Edward Encarnacion to the Yanks about to go down…

    • willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 5:55 pm

yeah A’s guys (M’s in town to play them) just said that on pregame.

      • willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:08 pm

Mac’s in LU batting 8th and playing LF.

  45. snarkk said, on June 15, 2019 at 5:54 pm

Dubs are going to have to buy another 2nd round pick and hope that one turns into a player. Jordan Bell had promise, then has turned into pretty much a barely useful scrub. They’ve got to get another off guard that can shoot, because without Klay, otherwise Curry is going to get doubled and mugged the entire next season…

  46. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:10 pm

Mac’s hitting .192 for M’s, 5 for 26. And that bomb he hit in first game is his only extra base hit so far.

  47. gianthead said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:10 pm

Loo if you are still hanging around here confirming I did speculate on Giants going after both Ozuna and Puig. As Flav knows, I’ve been talking about Ozuna for couple of years since he was in Miami, I was hoping they would try and trade for him then but our minor leagues have been bare for a while. I alson wanted Yelich. Adding two big bats and over-paying for them is the best medicine…I of course have more faith in Duggar but Pillar is a nice 4th OF…

    • djloo27 said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:18 pm

Absolutely GH. I know you’ve been in on Osuna for years.
I always felt mostly alone on Puig, but I guess you and maybe SanDog would take him on…

  48. gianthead said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:13 pm

Just saw Rocketman…quite meh to me….they turned it into Moulin Rouge, which I have watched maybe 5 minutes of that garbage before vomiting…

    • alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:54 pm

That would be me listening to Queen songs🤮

  49. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:39 pm

Interesting scenario: M’s used an opener, who walked 3 guys sandwiched around 2 outs, then gave up 2 run scoring singles to put them down 3-0. And so the real SP came in with 2 guys on and pitched out of it.

  50. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:50 pm

Just noticed too, A’s also have pen mounds on the field. Only Mac, in LF tonite, could have that kind of luck.

    • alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:58 pm

My gut feeling is that Mac will be cut with the Mariners soon.Getting a shot, but just like with the Giants, he’s not getting the job done..

  51. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 6:54 pm

Reports from M’s twitter guys say Encarnacion, who has 21 bombs to lead the AL plus an OPS of almost .900, is traded in return for 19 yr old pitcher who is rated Yankees 27th top prospect. M’s also sending half the remaining salary owed, $7 mil ish.

Wondering again what “top prospects” Bum would bring back?

  52. zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:21 pm

Man, can the Cubs even win one game vs. the Dodgers? The Cubs are getting no-hit at the moment.

  53. zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:26 pm

CarGo is on the Cubs, whatta ya know.

  54. djloo27 said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:46 pm

I see the Cardinals have adopted the 3D batting helmet logo but are sticking with the shiny rather than the matte finish. I would like to see the Giants make that change next year as part of the overhaul of all things stale…

    • alleykat69 said, on June 15, 2019 at 7:52 pm

One guy who would not keep that helmet shiny is Pablo, his helmet has baked on pine tar all over it..

  55. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on June 15, 2019 at 8:02 pm

While the team is in rebuild mode, IMO, I’d keep Pablo all the way until he just can’t play anymore. He adds so much to the team and obviously at this point still can play. Doubt it would be too expensive to keep him on a bit longer. But then again, I was in the camp of not being bitter about him leaving (and then coming back)…

  56. zumiee said, on June 15, 2019 at 9:02 pm

Jansen blows the save; Dodgers lose. Nice.

  57. willedav said, on June 15, 2019 at 9:25 pm

Rockies SP Marquez goes 5+ gives up 10 hits and 7 runs all earned. and picks up the W as Rox blast Padres 14-8. And only 1 bomb hit all game by Ian Desmond. Man after night before Pads pitching staff must be in shreds.

  58. mrsprtdude said, on June 15, 2019 at 11:41 pm

rare trade that seems good for both teams. NO gets a lot considering they had no leverage. On the right team a guy like Ball who can pass and rebound but not score (Draymond anyone?) can be valuable.. If Zion turns out to be the guy everyone thinks he will be and they hit gold with 4th pick NO is immediate playoff team. Likely fighting with Dubs at the bottom of the playoff teams in the west
