Still in Second to Last Place in the NL But Feelin’ Good!
We don’t have the horse power to keep this offensive machine revving like this for long but it’s fun for a little while, right? Longo showing off why he’s our team WAR leader with two bombs.
Our boys have scored 42 runs since Flappers descended upon Oracle last Friday demanding MORE from the team.

Ok, we have a new contest. Loo declined the $25 Amazon gift card he won last Friday night and chose to put it up for grabs with the following game:
“Pick the teams that Bum and Smith get traded to. Simple as that.
Tiebreaker: Pick a 3rd Giant who will get dealt (or waived, DFA’ed whatever) and the team he lands on.
Picks must be in before Bum throws another pitch in a few days, so nobody gets too influenced by rumors as the deadline nears.”
Loo, can you manage the picks as they come in?
I am going with Bum to Astros, Smith to the Rays, Tie breaker: Tony Watson to the Dodgers
I was following along on cbs site on the Dodgers game. Holland walked the bases loaded after he got 2 outs then walked the rook Beaty on 4 pitches to tie it and then lost it on another one. unbelievable. We saw Giants romp AZ they are nothing special, nor any of the other also rans behind LA.
Yes to unsustainability of offense, but they are only minus 6 runs differential on the road. Longo, like a lot of Giants, just hits better away from the O. Hank tweeted after his first bomb that it was his 3rd of the year at Petco; meanwhile he has 1 all season at home. He does have power to CF/RCF, tougher at night/home.
More excited to see Giants SPs pitch well. Smardz gave up 2 runs in 8, Beede shut down Pads in 7, Bum did great in his 7, so did Pom for 5. Anderson goes tonite as SF looking for sweep. Like Zum said, after night we spent at the yard, it is invigorating to watch Giants baseball.
Sure, Flavor. I’ll manage the picks. If someone nails ’em both, I’ll try to find something else to throw in.
Do you think the deadline should be the ASG to give people a little more time to analyze?
sure.
Flavor suggested I chime in on this one, so I’ll say Bumgarner to the Pirates (let’s get crazy!), Smith to the Twins, and Watson to the Cardinals.
14 run total at Coors tonight. I do believe that’s the highest I’ve ever seen for a pro baseball game.
The Giants just gave up 18 a little while back. Here. To the Dbacks.
Now at 6 1/2 back in the WC hunt.
I’m still not sure Bum will be traded. But for the contest I’ll go with –
Bum to the Twins for Graterol and Arraez.,
Smith to the Braves for Waters and Ynoa and my tiebreaker is,
Holland to the Brewers for some guy named Mo.
Oh the Holland tie breaker pick, dat a good 1
Bozo is on the case!
The Dutch treat.
Bum to Yankees
Smith to Atlanta
Watson to Red Sox
that’s strong.
The math is not kind to the Giants in the 2nd half. They have to go 43-34 the rest of the way to get to .500.
The 2nd half includes:
Dodgers 6 games
Cubs 6
Cards 7
Phils 7
Pirates 4
A’s 4
Red Sox 3
Atlanta 3
Bummie to the Brew Crew
WIll Smith to the Cubbies
Watson to the Yanks
4 guys in – 4 different destinations for Bum…
Bum — Astros
Smith — Twinkies
Watson — Braves
I’ve been traveling a lot the last week or so but its good to see the club responding to Flappapoloza 2019 which no doubt included some encouraging words. Is it too late for the “glad you guys got some Dick” joke?
Yep. Got a Big Dick Donger that night.
Well, my wife did . . .
lol, didn’t you get home at like 3 in the morning? I bet she was was ecstatic to have a drunken Chuck shaking her awake for that, lol
The bar closed at midnight. It wasn’t THAT late.
this video is incredible. Why won’t that chick fuck Rick James when he shows up? I mean, she was clearly waiting for him all night. Then she walks out? It’s Rick James, BITCH! lol. Start to finsh tho, that vid is solid gold.
Diggity (and others who have been here). Is this take off base?
I wouldn’t know, but I can tell you that Yankee Stadium absolutely sucks…
1. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
2. Mike Yastrzemski (L) RF
3. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
4. Alex Dickerson (L) LF
5. Stephen Vogt (L) C
6. Kevin Pillar (R) CF
7. Joe Panik (L) 2B
8. Donovan Solano (R) SS
9. Shaun Anderson (R) P
Bum to the Cubs! Smith to the Rays! Watson to the Dodgers.
I saw Beede sent down and I was pissed and wondering if Z is actually an idiot Dodger plant!
Then i saw he volunteered to go down so he could pitch on his normal schedule vs resting during the break. His father in law died this week too. Watching him hopefully develop and seeing who we get for our players is all i can pay attention to. Of course I also maintain the very slim hope (Like I used to with Timmy) that Posey can be a major league hitter again!
Long-Dick!
The one he hit over our heads was past me before I could even see it. A rocket
Anybody getting attached to our new outfield?
mm they all seem streaky. great starts for few of them so we’ll see. Encouraging though and very cheap.
Yaz gunned down guy at the plate and Dick just made diving grab to save a hit so all that’s good.
Did Renfroe just say he got dicked?
I am digging solano though. He is taking someone’s middle IF spot.
They call it mellow yellow.
Tied up.
Bum: Brewers
Smith: Braves
Tie breaker: Watson/Red Sox
Kuiper sounds rejuvenated lately…
yaha like they used to say on the oldies stations–the hits just keep on comin!
Pablo with the non-seeing eye double and now Belt belts it. We need four more.
Now we need 3 more.
And I’ll say this for pillar—getting more hits and getting on base more often helps the club score runs. this shows up in OB/OPS (up 100) and BA which he has raised 20 points lately. He doesn’t have to hit HRs or get SBs (only 2 in June) to help the team.
twitter response to Pads beat writer:
“If they’re this bad at home vs. the Giants, how much uglier will it get at Dodger Stadium?”
Hey, Panik’s good for something.
I was just thinking the same thing, Mac.
Sweep and a nice win.
Sweep the Pads? Check.
Win 4th straight? Check.
Pass the Mets? Check.
one thing that is beyond infuriating: think about how many seasons we’ve gone with shit closers. The 9th was often such a helpless feeling. Now we’ve got maybe the best closer in either league and we’re like, “Later! Gotta trade ya!”
7-5, kind of a pitching duel.
Ha ha!

Pads have now lost 4 in a row and have next 4 at The Latrine where Dodgers rarely lose to anyone.
Zaidi seems to have Dodgerized Bochy into doing more platooning, and it’s working well.
It helps to have the best bench the Giants have had in years.
Holland choking again in L.A.
Holland blows the save again.
And now the walks.
Petco IS blah aesthetically, but it plays fair, has great sightlines, the grassy park area is great for bringing little kids, and the bars and food places in the area are great.
Dodgers win another walk-off.
They’re now 36-9 at home. The NL just can’t let that happen. It’s ridiculous. This D-Back series is the most ridiculous.
Pads are a cautionary note. Despite fact they already have some promising young bombers in Renfroe and Reyes, plus the exciting Tatis Jr and perennial AS Machado, Giants walked in there and slapped their young pitching staff around. The Giants have now beaten them 5 times in a row.
Trade Bum and or Smrdz/Pom, someone has to make 30 starts a year to replace them. Suarez? and who ese?
Trade Smith/Watson someone has to close out games you have a chance to win and get through high leverage situations before that. Moronta? and who else?
Whomever the Giants trade with, they better be bringing all hitters in return. I think Moronta has closer material but they could also give Black a go with more heat and the kid from spring training who is the closer in Richmond Melvin Adon could have the right stuff to close in the big leagues…I think with our park, we can also bring in pitching and be competitive. We need young hitters galore…
