A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

AHOFO

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 12, 2019

We’ve got 7 games right out of the blocks that should quell the swell of enthusiasm for the Giants big move on the last wild card spot. Milwaukee AND Colorado. This should actually be very interesting. The Giants have played better on the road this year than at home. But The Brewers are better than we are and Sherpa Town always sucks for us. Regardless, there can be no more long losing streaks this season. It starts right now and continues on through September. Play .700 ball.

Let’s see if they can do that.

Unbelievable leadoff triple Smith still in all star mode yikes..

  3. willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:08 pm

that’s the kind of stuff that happens when you are on losing streak vs. a team–guy crushes one a foot fair down the line. See if smith can pitch out of it, got 2 to get.

    • unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:10 pm

      We aren’t though.

      • willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:14 pm

vs. Brewers, yes. They’ve lost 12 of last 20 there and got swept last year.

      • unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:18 pm

        Ahhh. OK.

  4. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:09 pm

  6. Macdog said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:13 pm

Dodgers still can’t beat the Red Sox, haha.

    • willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:15 pm

ha yeah was just gonna post that. 1 run of 5 hits in 8-1 L at Fenway. Roberts still not looking too good vs. Boston.
You know what would be funny, is if Brewers get in and actually get the ring after Grandal leaves LA.

  7. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:16 pm

    Ouch! Nice swing, Yaz.

  8. willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:18 pm

  9. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:19 pm

Wow. Nice recovery there by Yaz.

  10. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:20 pm

    Wow nice comeback for Yaz!

  11. willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:20 pm

Nice AB from Yaz down 0-2. Um check out some offensive stats, such as BA slugging OPS HRs (per ABs) in comparison to a certain Giants CF. it’s a definite hmmnn

  12. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:21 pm

    Redemption Song time for Belt.

  13. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:24 pm

We must lead the league in not scoring from 2nd on a base hit.

  14. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:25 pm

  19. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:26 pm

    How about that BUSTER GRANDSLAM!!!!

  20. willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:26 pm

I was just thinking this is type of yard he can reach any fence so do not hit ball on the ground.

  21. gianthead said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:26 pm

Holy shit…a Posey sighting…ala playoffs against the Reds…

  22. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:26 pm

  23. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:27 pm

Wowe. Buster dug that one out. Not a terrible pitch he hit

  24. Macdog said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:31 pm

Update to Loo’s earlier post: Posey now has 9 HRs in 21 career games at Miller Park. Maybe the Brewers should trade for him.

  25. Macdog said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:32 pm

That Bye Bye Baby tune is getting a lot of airplay tonight.

  26. zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:32 pm

there’s goes 1 of the 4 he had to work with. arrggh
Giants hit 3 bombs in 3 innings off Brewers pen guys Hader and Albers.

    • Macdog said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:40 pm

4-run lead, does that even qualify for a save?

      • unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:43 pm

It’s only 3 now. I donlt think he’d get credit, but. he’d better not fuck this up.

  30. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:38 pm

Estes might want to take back his assessment Melonoma..

  31. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:41 pm

Red alert. Get the pen going.

  32. Irish Kevin said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:41 pm

    • zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:42 pm

      The contract.

      • Irish Kevin said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:44 pm

So a contract over a win??

      • willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:47 pm

Irish he’d used everyone else except Holland and Gott. Got lucky with that last pitch at letters–that’s the one they didn’t give Albers before Belt singled.

      • xoot said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:05 pm

SF Anderson got that strike call in the first inning, though

  33. unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:42 pm

  36. Macdog said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:45 pm

  37. Bozo said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:45 pm

    Slide on that, Bernie Brewer.

  38. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:45 pm

    Melonface survives!!

  39. willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:49 pm

Speaking of .500 teams, unhappy Brewers fan tweeted on their site that since MIL started season 7-1 they are 40-44 since. And went 15-19 with soft schedule June/July now 15-20.

  40. zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:52 pm

Lots of WAR numbers got a boost! 🙂

    • xoot said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:03 pm

      • zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:28 pm

Yaz, the original, at #3, who’da thunk it?

      • xoot said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:34 pm

Yaz the Elder, Yaz the Younger, I guess. Unlike RRiver Brewing Pliny IPAs, the Elder will always be better. Still the Younger’s doing well for us this year.

      • zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:48 pm

Nice AB tonight to grind out a walk and keep the rally going.

      • xoot said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:52 pm

very good AB. But talk about your decimal fractions . . . .

  41. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:53 pm

4 1/2 out of the WC now

    • zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:59 pm

Still 8 teams to pass, but the Giants got a little closer. Could be a crazy July.

  42. zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 8:53 pm

Padres are wearing their dookie browns tonight.

    • willedav said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:00 pm

and getting shut out by Keuchel through 5. One of their kid SPs gave up 3 run bomb to Donaldson in first and 460 ft HR to Acuna. 4-0 Braves. Would so like to see giants finish ahead of them.

  43. zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:18 pm

What was up with Cain on 2-0 faking a bunt and taking a fastball down the middle? Wow.

    • unca_chuck said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:42 pm

Yeah, that was weird. Like he called time on himself.

  44. zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:31 pm

Osich sighting! Pitching for the White Sox.

  45. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:35 pm

  46. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:40 pm

And their pitching staff is throwing a no hitter thru 7 innings as well…

    • alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:54 pm

      Make that thru 8 innings!
What a special story this could make..

  47. zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 9:49 pm

Petit is still going for the A’s.

  48. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 10:14 pm

  50. zumiee said, on July 12, 2019 at 10:17 pm

They did it using an opener for 2 innings.

  51. alleykat69 said, on July 12, 2019 at 10:18 pm

Wow every player just took off their #45 Jersey and covered the pitching mound!! Solid Gold!!

  52. wilcojoe said, on July 12, 2019 at 10:21 pm

This whole Tyler Skaggs night is just unreal. From his mom throwing an absolute seed for the first pitch, to the combined no-hitter. wow, just wow.

  53. wilcojoe said, on July 12, 2019 at 10:22 pm

The female host on MLB network just completely broke down after interviewing Trout.
