A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

51/50

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 23, 2019

Of course it would have to be 51-50 for the first time we’re over .500 this year. This has been a crazy run. What is currently worrying me today: Z gets goaded into standing pat at the deadline and the Giants swoon in August and we’re left holding a bag of shit. Whatever, I guess that wouldn’t be the end of the world—as long as he doesn’t pass up any good offers for Bum and/or Smith I’ll live if he keeps them around for the rest of the year.

  17. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:47 pm

    Panik sucks.

  18. zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:48 pm

Panik botched that inning. I think we’re all tired of that dude.

  19. alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:49 pm

Well that sucked, after a leadoff double that was inches from ending it..

  20. willedav said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:49 pm

2 words. Zach Green. He’s gotta get more run, him and Solano both.
one of Cubs guys earlier said these 2 games had playoff atmosphere.
And Giants are right with them.

    • alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:56 pm

Green will be in tomorrow at 3rd against Lester, and hopefully Solano at 2nd for Panik..

  21. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:51 pm

Man, what used to be base hits are now not. For 100 years that’s a base hit.

  22. zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:51 pm

    At’em ball. Melancon needs those.

  23. willedav said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:52 pm

Heyward finally having type of season Cubs hoped for. Probably always overhyped but having solid year.

  24. snarkk said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:52 pm

Just back from a wine class/tasting.
Italian reds are friggin’ awesome. So are Italian women. So, I’m told.
What’s with yet another Xtra inning game? Sheezus, this is back to 2010 “Torture”….

  25. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 9:54 pm

Wow. That’s some crazy shit right there.

END THIS! Criminy. This our 6th extra inning game in the last 7?

  26. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:00 pm

How do you not laugh when Kimbrel does his crab impersonation?

  27. alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:03 pm

Never liked Kimbrel and his vulture posture, but he’s always been nasty with his stuff..

  28. alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:07 pm

    Melonhead Rd 2
Hans Solo:I got a bad feeling about this!

    Oh thank you Lord!!

  30. willedav said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:10 pm

Belt does that really well. 3-6-3 is one of prettiest plays in baseball. He’s gotta go though I can’t watch him hit anymore.

  31. zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:14 pm

Panik is rockin’ a .630 OPS.

    • Macdog said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:16 pm

Now he hits a grounder to the right side.

      • zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:17 pm

He may not be a major leaguer next season.

  32. zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:19 pm

Now Belt hits little fly balls to left field for some reason.

  33. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:21 pm

    Fuck. Those were strikes

  34. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:23 pm

    Wow. Nice pitch, Coonie

  35. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:24 pm

Hard cheese. Damn, Coonie. Then the changeup.

  36. alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:26 pm

Coon man sure has better movement then Stricknine ever did! Nice job

  37. alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:28 pm

Yeah I’m getting sick of watching Belt swing as well!
He’s the LH version of Aaron Rowand now..

  38. Macdog said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:30 pm

    Panda walk-off!

  39. unca_chuck said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:30 pm

  43. alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:38 pm

24-10 in one run games best in baseball.
7 walkoffs …10-2 in extra innings!
A different hero everynight, I’ve never seen such clutch hits like this team is doing!!
    Beyond unreal now!!

  44. alleykat69 said, on July 23, 2019 at 10:51 pm

Bruce Bochy to reporters:”You like extra innings games,?You’ve come to the right place”

  45. zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 11:10 pm

    Day game tomorrow, quick turnaround.

  46. mrsprtdude said, on July 23, 2019 at 11:18 pm

Anyone else agree this has been the most exciting / improbable stretch of non playoff base ball ever for SF?

    • snarkk said, on July 23, 2019 at 11:23 pm

I don’t remember a better stretch than this, no. Pretty unreal.
So far, the Dick is my team MVP. Dude swings a titanic bat. Juices the team with energy.
Slides around a tag to the inside and scores at home.
      Just a baller.
      Great fundamentals…

    • zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 11:34 pm

The 2003 Giants started the season 18-1, I think; but that team was loaded with firepower on offense. That team fizzled in the playoffs, though.

      • zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 11:44 pm

Oops, 18-4, I should have said.

      • zumiee said, on July 23, 2019 at 11:52 pm

On second thought, I’m not sure they were loaded with firepower, other than Bonds.

Best start of a season I remember was the 1984 Detroit Tigers going 35-5 and riding that to a W/S title over the San Diego Padres of all teams 4games to 1…

    • zumiee said, on July 24, 2019 at 5:05 am

Bochy played for San Diego in that World Series.
