I Hate Alex Dickerson

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 4, 2019

I feel like Alex Dickerson was sent from the future to destroy us. This dude shows up out of nowhere raking everything in sight. The Giants go on a tear fueled nearly completely by him and win enough games to convince Young Z not to trade Bum or Smith. Then the trade deadline passes, he gets hurt, comes back, he’s 1 for his last 21. And the curve of our season mirrored nearly exactly his production. It’s like this was all a big joke played on us by some shithead Dodger Baseball God….

Bum vs Wacha today. That sounds like a match up from post seasons past. But the only thing Wacha ever did in the glorious run of 3 in 5 is give up the bomb that Ishikawa hit.

What a hit that was…..

Hey guys . . . Send good thoughts to John in North Carolina/Outer Banks region. The size of the storm is increasing as its strength decreases, meaning more of the region will feel its effects. Forecasters at the hurricane center said Dorian should drop to a Category 1 storm with winds of approximately 90 mph as it sweeps increasing faster along the North Carolina coast. Stay safe Bozo.

The Clown has been in my thoughts, Steve. Definitely putting out some good vibes that he will be fine through all of this. I know it isn’t his first rodeo with this type of stuff, but still, this is one helluva a storm. If you hear from him, let him know he is in my thoughts.

      • blade3colorado said, on September 4, 2019 at 12:34 pm

I have heard just this from yesterday’s blog (as well as an earlier message when I inquired about his situation):

“Thanks again for the well wishes,Steve, and yeah, we did raise the house 8 feet after we were flooded by Irene. Still have to secure potted plants, loose lumber, outdoor chairs & tables, mowers, grills, bikes and those kind of things (below the house isn’t enclosed). I know I choose to live in hurricane alley but it’s still a pain in the ass that’s starting to wear me down.”

The Dick (and Yaz) gave us the most entertaining month of Giants baseball in the last 3 years. It was fun. I don’t regret that.

We still haven’t come to terms with Matheny sending Wacha out there in 2014…..

Ouch! Yes, there are days past that are like scabs you can’t stop picking. Russ Ortiz and the last gasp of our bullpen back in ’02 . . .

that’s fantastic, never saw that one before.

      • zumiee said, on September 4, 2019 at 11:17 am

Peavy ran out there like a doofus and was blocking Ishi from getting to third. Ishi had to go all Chris Chambliss on him and knock Peavy out of the way.

Not to harp on the Giants more but WTF,
Dick was hurting even last night, but of course he said he could continue to play and they let him when it was obvious his oblique was jacked up on his swings, and he ends up striking out in pain. But of course they probably won’t DL him and bring up my boy Jaylin.Stupid is as Stupid does with this organization..

  11. chipower9 said, on September 4, 2019 at 12:30 pm

Hey Daniel – we have chatted here before. I grew up in Oklahoma, a RedBird fan, and still (and always will) have a soft sport for the Cards. The Giants are so out of it, you guys are my pick. Wishing your Cards all the best…hope you win it all.

    • Cardinal70 said, on September 4, 2019 at 6:50 pm

Thanks, man. I do remember you having that connection. Hopefully we can make everyone happy by beating LA.

    2nd half 2020 outfield?
    Lil Yaz, Ramos, Davis.
Platoon Pillar, Slater or offseason pickup
Dick is LH pinch hitter in Pablo role and occasional OFer…

  21. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on September 4, 2019 at 6:37 pm

I feel your pain, Craig. About The Dick, that is. But his arrival and production and spark at least gave us a glimmer of hope that adding some key parts in this re-tooling process will eventually lead to success. It had been awhile since we had seen someone new come in and drive the train like that. Dick wasn’t sustainable, but it was fun to watch. On the other hand, Yaz does look sustainable, and now with Dubon and hopefully Davis and of course more to come, it’s possible the team already reached the dark depths of bad and is already starting to climb ever upward. It won’t happen as quickly as it did in 2010 when Bum and Buster arrived; back then, there actually was a solid core already in place (mostly pitching and much younger). The current core is rotten and will take some weeding out, but we’ll get there.

    • djloo27 said, on September 4, 2019 at 6:44 pm

We’ve got some difficult days ahead, but it really doesn’t matter with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop … I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as Flappers, will get to the Promised Land…

      • alleykat69 said, on September 4, 2019 at 6:52 pm

Bum given a 4 run lead and then he gives it away. Not the same dude.

  23. Flavor said, on September 4, 2019 at 6:58 pm

think Soler likes the new ball?

  24. blade3colorado said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:00 pm

I have the St Louis internet broadcast signal and McCarver said something interesting about the Goldie triple. He said that Davis possibly called Pillar off and as a result, Pillar pulled up. McCarver added that it was a rookie mistake by Davis, i.e., it’s always easier to allow the ball to fall into a player’s glove (Pillar) versus a back hand grab that Davis attempted.

Dunno if his scenario is true, as only Pillar and Davis know for sure.

  25. blade3colorado said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:02 pm

Craw came up big. Props to him.

    • snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:13 pm

      Yep.
Rare for Giants to capitalize big on an oppo mistake.
      Good on him…

      • djloo27 said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:15 pm

Hopefully next year, he puts the gel in An-gel.
        I really think that’s a team we can concoct a deal with…

  26. Flavor said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:18 pm

    Jesus Christ Bum was awful.

  27. snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:23 pm

    Let’s see Dubon in there.
What is he, resting by Bochy after 3 games?
Not Joseph. Whoever the hell he and his error are.
    This one is looking oooogly…

  28. dirtnrocksnomo said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:23 pm

WTF kind of lollygagging was that from Joseph? Dude just gave upon the play when he could’ve at least gotten an out.

  29. alleykat69 said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:23 pm

Nice choke job by the latest line of 2nd basemen’s they have used..

  30. unca_chuck said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:25 pm

It was Davis or no one on that play. Pillar just distracted Davis.

Gawd. Yaz misses a fly ball, Joseph misses a grounder, Gonna cough up the lead. Again.

  31. snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:27 pm

I would walk Goldie, even to load the bases. This guy is just too clutch. 2 outs, I’d do it…

  32. unca_chuck said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:27 pm

    Walk Goldy already.

  33. Bozo said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:28 pm

Settle down y’all, its not like I’m living in Alabama…

Right now we are good to go, the storm is not expected to get to the Outer Banks until tomorrow late or Friday early. Seems to be hunker down time again and a Giants win sure would be nice. Come on Giants, win one for Birmingham!

    • unca_chuck said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:29 pm

  34. unca_chuck said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:28 pm

    Fuck. Seriously.

  35. unca_chuck said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:30 pm

What do the fucking coaches say about facing Goldy? Give him a first pitch strike he can jack?

  36. alleykat69 said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:30 pm

    Fuck this shit!!!

  37. snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:31 pm

I just do not understand why Bochy fuckin’ continues year after year to pitch to Goldschmidt in situations like that. It’s so predictable. Ozuna’s no cakewalk, but I want him up there, not Goldie. I want to hear from Bochy — why do you give Goldie endless chances to kill you? Make somebody else fuckin’ hurt you. So, now he gets Ozuna with the third out on a weak grounder. If Goldie is on first, the inning is over, Giants still have the lead. Infuckinfuriating…

    • alleykat69 said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:37 pm

And why did he take my boy Jaylin Davis out on the double switch for Slater? My main man Davis tracks down Goldy’s drive to preserve the lead.Slater no chance ketching that one..

      • snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:44 pm

        To pump Davis’ confidence?
        Ha ha.
Now Davis won’t see the field or an AB for about 6 games…

    • snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:39 pm

Why the FUCK did teams walk Bonds constantly? Because he was the guy that would/could/and will destroy your ass. Walk him and make fuckin’ Pedro Feliz beat you. Goldie is no Bonds, but he’s right now the Cards’ Bonds, and is kryptonite to the Giants…

  38. blade3colorado said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:33 pm

No idea who this Rogers is, but him and his straight as an arrow submarine pitch can walk back to Sacramento. Oh, Joseph can hoof it back to Sac with him too.

    • unca_chuck said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:37 pm

Rogers hit the target. It’s on Boch for continuing to pitch to Goldy.

      • snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:43 pm

        Most definitely.
        Phuck Bochy.
The sycophantic SF scribes post-game need to ask him dead on why he pitched to Goldie.
Whatever answer he gives will be total bullshit…

  39. unca_chuck said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:35 pm

It’s not like Goldy has been doing this for 10 fucking YEARS or anything . . . .

  43. snarkk said, on September 4, 2019 at 7:47 pm

    Boch?
    Hello…

Hey John, I see where the Trumpster pulled out an NOAA map during a news conference today, where one of his staff had earlier drew a black magic marker arrow on the map toward Alabama. No doubt all his toothless followers fell for the scam.

gentle reminder that Stud Z traded Alen Hanson for a guy that leads our team in nearly every offensive category: hits, total bases, HR’s, sb’s, doubles, RBI’s, and runs scored.
THAT is a motherfucking stud trade pulled off by Stud Z

I missed another wild one, making a trip to our First State, and just watched the highlights. Pretty funny (after the fact) reading all the comments about Boch not walking Goldy. I see Yaz hit a HR off a lefty, two days after Boch pinch-hit for him late in the game when the Cards brought in a lefty. Let him swing against anyone. And man, that DeJong error was as bad as it gets, kudos to Craw for making ’em pay. Way to go Pillar for joining the 21 Club. Stay safe, Bozo, Sweet Home Wherever You Are.
