Oh man, though I always expect the Dodgers to lose in the post season because that’s just how they roll I didn’t REALLY think the Nats would be the one to fell them. But sure enough, Kershaw came out and laid another post season egg and Washington is now in position to do this. They’re the ones playing with house money. They’re the ones that are now at home. And LA is back on their heels AGAIN. Lol, man watching their dumbasses lose in the post season is nearly as good as watching the Giants win.

Two more intriguing games today. Great baseball is just coming at us in waves right now, it’s awesome….

By the way, for those who didn’t follow, BigCat was roasting LoDuca on Kershaw sucking again. LoDuca wasn’t having any of it saying all he did was play the over. The San Jose comment I’m not sure about but since we know LoDuca is a huge gambler we can assume he’s lamenting the Spartan football team’s performance up to that point in last night’s game.

this is the kind of manager we’re going to get. Underwhelming pick, prepare yourselves….

And Kotsay, also reportedly under consideration, is a *quality control* guy too, right? Until yesterday, I didn’t even know there was such a job in baseball. Anybody ever seen a job description for that?

    • Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 8:06 am

“We need you to come in and control this place. But only the good shit, it’s got to be QUALITY”

  4. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 8:29 am

Quality Control is just some ass that had no Quality of Life usually a big shots son,are brother in law, that has to please the wife to keep him around in a meaningless job.Think Tommy Boy..

Giving up 3 ain’t terrible but Opie wears the L.

I think Murph should get the job.

Jose St. beat awful New Mexico (6 turnovers) last night for their 3rd W of season equaling their total of previous 2 years. might not win another one but given expectations, not bad. the QB is out of famed Long Beach Poly HS.

Saw Girardi is to be interviewed next week by Cubs. Epic theater there…unlike anyone Giants will talk to. And anyway how much say so do modern day mgrs. really have except for who is/isn’t available to pitch or play. It’s all on the iPad, sent to them daily.

Grifol sounds like he’s from Hogwarts

  8. zumiee said, on October 5, 2019 at 8:59 am

Yeah, the buzzword is a “collaborative” relationship between manager and GM.

  9. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 9:09 am

On the biggest stage Kershaw continues to fail in the postseason.”His demons won’t let him escape “ He now has a postseason record of 9-11 (yes call 911) his era rises to 4.33 even his loyal fans are starting to turn on him.

    • Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 9:50 am

He’s way into the backside of his career. It’s not really fair to call him on playoff sucking anymore. His prime is long gone

Sad trombone columns from Killian and Slusser today in the SF Chronicle. Beane’s photo on their notebooks with little hearts drawn around the photo.

    • Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 9:50 am

      What the fuck?

      • zumiee said, on October 5, 2019 at 11:27 am

Maybe a “little” exaggeration on the notebook covers. A little. 🙂

Flav, betting the ponies at the fairgrounds today with a buddy. Right now, Keeneland #2, ex box 1,2,6, and 2 to win.

    • Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 10:47 am

nice. Too bad you aren’t at Keenland, one of the best places in the world to spend a fall afternoon

      • blade3colorado said, on October 5, 2019 at 10:51 am

I wanted to go to GG fields for live racing, but fall schedule doesn’t start until October 17th.

      • Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 11:31 am

GG Fields sucks, the racing there is a shell of what it once was. Beautiful views of the bay, tho

  12. Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 10:49 am

I miss this shit. Someone of actual consequence holding court. Now anyone can get online and rant or talk shit. With zero credibility. This man had credibility.

  13. Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 11:33 am

    good news, I guess

  14. zumiee said, on October 5, 2019 at 11:48 am

Of the two, Slusser was more positive, which was to be expected. As head cheerleader, it’s her role to raise everyone’s spirits, and trust fully in……wait for it…..Billy Beane (sigh)…..to keep building the A’s into an even better team, a team that will transcend mere humanity, rise skyward, and meld with the universe into pure energy, on a blue event horizon, eternally getting closer to the World Series, without ever actually arriving.

    • alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 11:54 am

Kinda like the Dodgers, and yet they get there but don’t know how to seal the deal, like our 3-5 Giants could..

  15. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 11:51 am

Yeah Bart is tearing it up..4 Homers batting .400 insane OPS .1479 920 slug pct against top minor league pitching prospects!
Good chance he’s starts at Sac with an early callup, hope Ramos Fizz is right behind him.Just in time when the walls get moved in..

  16. zumiee said, on October 5, 2019 at 12:11 pm

To be fair, the local sportswriters that cover the Giants aren’t exactly what anyone would call hard-hitting journalists. Bochy had so many softball questions lobbed to him over the years he probably felt like a beer-league softball player.

  17. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 12:39 pm

3rd&King..Still has a better ring to it then 3rd&Bruce Bochy Boulevard..
That Sergio Romo wants to get on a petition..
Just set up a Bochy Bocce court inside wouldn’t that be cool 😎 instead?

        There are cameras everywhere now.
The crime rate should be ZERO.
I don’t know how anyone gets away with anything…

Quality control is the dude that manages the vids and the data for game prep.
The Zman is looking for a dude that can talk standard deviations and all the arcane baseball stat shit. And, follows directions, and doesn’t piss off the players. Z has to already know long ago during the season who the short list is for his new manager. And, it will be HIS manager. In today’s game, you can let a baseball algorithm on a MacBook manage the HRs, Ks and walks. The bigger deal is get some damn players with power…

  19. snarkk said, on October 5, 2019 at 1:53 pm

Bart is starting to figure it out against higher quality pitching. He’s only had just over 500 ABs in the minors, and that includes 25 just now in the AFL. That’s not a lot. Posey had a total of 631 ABs in the minors. If Bart starts showing consistent hard contact next spring in Scottsdale, he’s gotta be on a fast track because of his power. Z is not going to let him percolate down in the minors too long so his psyche is strong ala Sabes, especially with Posey stinkin’ it up at the plate again next season…

Cal Bears at Oregon late this afternoon. Cal defense hopefully can avoid a blowout, and keep it reasonably close with backup QB Modster now starting probably rest of season with Garbers out with a mystery upper body injury. If they keep it within 10 against the Ducks, that would be great…

this guy Dobnak looks like a pretty doughy fuck. Bad news for the twins today.

  22. Macdog said, on October 5, 2019 at 3:27 pm

    Twins are a fucking disgrace.

    • Macdog said, on October 5, 2019 at 3:51 pm

Maybe there’s a Lyft driver they can put in to pitch.

      • djloo27 said, on October 5, 2019 at 4:45 pm

        Excellent…

  23. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 3:35 pm

Yeah the Twins are a disgrace, enjoy your freezing asses in the off season their! Though I guess with their big contracts nobody’s stupid enough to live there! Oops no knock to you though Stix..

  24. zumiee said, on October 5, 2019 at 5:28 pm

A Romo sighting. Still obsessively licking his fingers.

  25. Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 5:34 pm

How the fuck do you lose 15 straight post season games? That’s outrageous

  26. willedav said, on October 5, 2019 at 5:36 pm

Beane and ownership’s method of operating on the cheap are screwed in Oakland. Semien will be FA in a year and Chapman arb eligible at same time. These guys are perennial AS and $20 mil per year players. Time to pay up–A’s cannot afford otherwise or fanbase will revolt and they will wind up in Portland.

They also have to have a legit top of rotation SP, who is going to be another $20 mil guy. Astros aren’t going anywhere and even though Oakland won 97 games they were 10 behind them.
If you can’t beat the Stros you’re back in WC.. And beating the Stros ain’t happening with a bunch of kid pitchers and the likes of Homer Bailey Brett Anderson and Tanner Roark.

  27. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 5:58 pm

Gotta love the charitable turnovers 3 by Oregon helping Cal to a 7-0 lead.. and the Bears are on the move again!

  28. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 6:26 pm

Both Cal&Oregon’s field goal kickers suck balls!! They shouldn’t be allowed to compete..

  29. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 7:10 pm

Best opening scene to a movie 🎥
A very intoxicated 🥴 Paul Newman as “Cool Hand Luke” cutting the parking meter tops off with a pipe cutter..

    • Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 7:16 pm

never saw that one. It might be time.

  30. Flavor said, on October 5, 2019 at 8:25 pm

Cole is just filthy. Zero resemblance to the guy who was with the Pirates.

    • alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 8:29 pm

      Sign him? 3/90?
I know it won’t happen then he blows his arm out..

  31. zumiee said, on October 5, 2019 at 8:41 pm

The Astros are very focused on their quest.

  32. alleykat69 said, on October 5, 2019 at 9:41 pm
