Weekend Over But Games Have Just Begun!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 7, 2019

Back to a 4-load of games today. Awesome. And Niners on MNF! Oh how I hate Cleveland and anyone associated with that cow town. But this is a good test for SF. They haven’t exactly been beating up on the NFL’s elite. And while I think the Browns are definitely overrated they do have some big names on that team. Interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Disappointing that Washington came up *nat-small* but not completely surprising.

Nationals completely suck….Cards may not be able to take out the Flodgers either

Wasn’t watching but Sanchez was fine through 5, and 87 pitches, and left with 2-1 lead right? So who is more to blame, Martinez for his strategy of using SPs in relief or GM that couldn’t get any more help for his pen than Hunter Strickland?

Commentator Pedro Martinez has me cracking up on the postgame show when he said:”You know I’ve never seen a guy give up so many Home runs then this guy!”

An F/G blogger thought Nats in 5 game series had best shot at knocking off LA. They still have Scherzer today (vs. slop throwing Rich Hill) and Stras for Game 5 should that happen.

  5. alleykat69 said, on October 7, 2019 at 9:08 am

Yeah but their starters arm have to carry the whole shitty bullpen as well.Thats a lot to overcome in a short series..

Less-than-ideal scenario for MLB: All four Division Series could be clinched today, which would mean no baseball until Friday when the NLCS starts.

      AL is a joke.
I think 8 teams lost 100 or more games? So, half that league stinks on ice. A‘s winning 97 then may not mean that much….

It didn’t help them last Wednesday.

    Stinky Greinke today.

Hey Duffy scored a run so I gotta give PaSalon a prop for calling it

This from a couple of days ago on Joey Bart. Apologies if this has already been shared…

    Nat-small! Love it.

Farhan said the other day that both Ramos and Bart could very well play their way onto the team next year. IOW, he wouldn’t hold them back if they keep raking.

  12. unca_chuck said, on October 7, 2019 at 2:07 pm

The Niners should be able to take care of the Browns weak LBs and suspect defensive backfield. Kittle should have a big night.

    • chipower9 said, on October 7, 2019 at 2:14 pm

I expect a tight game with Niners winning a close one.

  13. alleykat69 said, on October 7, 2019 at 2:17 pm

Posey had 497 AB’s in the minors before his callup In Sept and of course sat on the bench in favor of Boch vet Big Titty’s Molina ..
Bart right now has 503 AB’s plus now the AFL wrests he’s tearing it up.At the worse case, give him a month to rip AAA pitching and call him up for good in late April early May…

How much stock can be put in those AFL stats?

    • chipower9 said, on October 7, 2019 at 3:09 pm

Not sure, Loo. Typically, teams send their best rookies, etc., but hard to say. His stats were actually better in Richmond than they were in San Jose. Either way, it is exciting to have some good prospects in the pipeline that could hit the ML club in the next year or so.

Hey Chi, did you know that Stix was re-located?

As much stock as Bochy had in Posey coming up I guess? Funny how as soon as they dumped Molina cause Posey was tearing it up, they won their 1st W/S his rookie year. That won’t happen with this old core, so I still say get him up here just like other teams do with their young hotshots..

Elkton is a low security federal prison known for housing teflon Don John Gotti’s brother Pete.

Sounds like he’s in a better situation than he was in.

Why Kendrick is so terrible: yesterday he came up with two on and no out, and swung at pitches outside the strikezone. Today he comes up with the bases loaded and two out and swings at pitches outside the strikezone. He played for the Dodgers and it’s like he still has no idea how Maeda and Ryu pitch to batters.

Blow jobs are work, I guess.

The Nats are not being Natish tonight (so far)!

  20. unca_chuck said, on October 7, 2019 at 6:44 pm

Bosa is killing it against the Brownies.

  21. Flavor said, on October 7, 2019 at 8:07 pm

how bout the NIners going 4-0 for the first time in 29 years! That’s incredible.

    • unca_chuck said, on October 7, 2019 at 8:21 pm

Yep. Joe Montana and the 1990 Niners went 10-0.

  22. Flavor said, on October 7, 2019 at 8:08 pm

also I’m just about ready to admit I was wrong about Bosa.

  23. willedav said, on October 7, 2019 at 9:03 pm

Schedule does get tougher (than Cincy Pitt Tampa) in second half, but 4-0 is great way to start. .
Maybe Browns can get themselves together back home before they host Seattle next week.

  24. willedav said, on October 7, 2019 at 9:06 pm

Nice to see Nats extend LA to endgame. Hill walks 4 guys in 2 innings Urias and Baez blow up behind him. who told Roberts this would be a good plan? Now it’s Buehler vs. Stras for everything.

saw that report on Bart lighting up the AZ rookie league, great. Z had said he should learn another position–does anyone know if he played anywhere beside C down there?

  26. alleykat69 said, on October 7, 2019 at 9:34 pm

Back in Aug,Z man mentioned he would like the flexibility with Bart( like he does with all his players) to maybe do some work at 1st&3rd.Though in college all he played was catcher&DH occasionally. So it could be an option, just not sure it would be a reality..

Cruz caught looking to end a series. Where have I seen that before?

    Same ‘ol . . .

  29. unca_chuck said, on October 8, 2019 at 7:56 am

Dogs down to their last game. Oh how sweet would this be for them to lose in the divisional round?

Buehler and Strasburg. Hell of a finish. And pretty GD funny that the Nats trade Harper and go to the series, if that should come to pass.
