One of the most glorious moments to wake up to. Went to bed 3-0 and figured it was typical Gnats come up small performance…truly glorious.

Wiped out after a golf tourney…get this SanDog, we finished 25 under net.l and tied for first…we had a threesome so under the impression we got to rotate an extra shot to make up the 4th but apparently not how the host set up the shamble… oh well. But lost the tie break on a par 5 hole even though we had a gross birdie for all 3 players and a net eagle…

Maybe the case could be made that if a baseball team cruises too easily through the regular season, they aren’t totally ready for the grind of the playoffs.

  3. zumiee said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:18 am

Bellinger is going to win MVP, but he was a no-show in that series. Rendon was more the gamer you’d want up there for the clutch AB.

    • Macdog said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:55 am

Eaton had me pissed off all game, three times he made the final out of the inning with runners on and Rendon on deck. He finally did something in the 10th with the leadoff walk to start the winning rally.

I have rarely enjoyed an implotion as much as last night. Watching those fans leave after the bomb was the best part.

    Predicting Duffy will shine tonight.

didn’t see it too well (trying to see ESPN on TVs in gym this morning) but looked like typical Roberts explanation–“just didn’t work out.” Which is why he’s riding the 0 fer and Bochy has 3 in 5.

  6. Flavor said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:52 am

Roberts explanation flew with me. Kershaw v Soto or Maeda vs Soto? That’s a no brainer decision. Just didn’t work out

  7. willedav said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:52 am

MLBTR says Kapler is gone. 8 manager jobs for the taking now. wow round up usual suspects.
Chron said Z talked to Kotsay whom he knew from Oaktown and they printed ringing endorsements from Jason Kendall. Kendall said Kotsay knows analytics and would still bring old school.

    • chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 8:00 am

The question I have heard, and it is a good one, is can Kotsay manage a bullpen effectively in a pressure cooker situation? Going to be interesting to see the Giants direction, here.

  8. chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:54 am

We have been without power for two days now. I have a generator and we are limping along running the fridge and a few lights, etc., but it sucks. So, I did have the boob-tube on last night and was watching the game up to the point where Opey got the final out in the 7th and thought oh well, bums are gonna win this one. Major League swing and miss by me, there.

Get in the truck this morning for the ride in, dial in KNBR, and cannot believe my fucking ears! ANOTHER bum meltdown! Halle-FUCKING-lujah! Dancing on the grave of the fucking bumbinos, AGAIN. LMAO…

And how about those Redbirds laying a 10 spot on the chop yesterday in the 1st inning…lol.

So, if the Rays can miraculously pull the game out today, we are one step closer to my dream series for this year: Cards-Rays.

    • Macdog said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:58 am

The Dodgers had a power outage after the second inning.

      • chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 8:45 am

        LMAO. Good one, Mac.

  9. Flavor said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:54 am

Zum’s call on the Dodgers coasting through reg season only to wilt in the uncharted waters of pressure baseball is a good one. From that standpoint the Giants are really doing their part in-season to fatten those blue bitches up, aye?

    • chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:57 am

Fatten those blue bitches up…LMAO. Hear Hear…

      Hollywood couldn’t script this shit…

  10. Macdog said, on October 10, 2019 at 8:01 am

Since the Twins = playoff futility, maybe the Dodgers should be called the Septuplets

  11. mrsprtdude said, on October 10, 2019 at 8:01 am

Crazy stat. Division series since 1995 in game 5’s the ROAD is team 20-11
I wonder if the Dodgers will get a new bullpen or a new manager?
    Last thought..

I love the VAST difference between Bochy and others. Boch took the guys we had, told them he will put them in specific spots, I believe in you, and they excelled almost all the time. Roberts and Martinez et al..I don’t believe in you, and i won’t use you when it counts…
Read somewhere recently that in the 9th in KC WS he had Romo warming up under the stadium in the batting cage so Bum and the KC fans wouldn’t see. Classic brilliance.

    • unca_chuck said, on October 10, 2019 at 8:59 am

Bochy did so much more with so much less. If he managed the Dodgers in the 2010s, he’d likely have 6 rings instead of only 3.

Like Bum Phillips said about Bill Walsh:

“He can beat your guys with his guys, and he can beat his guys with your guys.”

  12. unca_chuck said, on October 10, 2019 at 8:03 am

Roberts has to eat that one alive. He fucked that up beyond recognition. How can they keep him when they’ve failed so many times?

  13. Flavor said, on October 10, 2019 at 9:03 am

    lol

    • unca_chuck said, on October 10, 2019 at 9:04 am

      Love it.

    • chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 9:13 am

LOL. Although his NFL career never took off, he was one bad motherfucker in his college days. I grew-up following Oklahoma football, and this guy kicked ass.

  14. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 9:33 am

Never tip your hand to the opponent before the game starts. When Roberts adamantly said :I’m going to piggy back Buehler &Kershaw together it already tells the Nats what to expect and motivates them more knowing once they pull Buehler they face an easier Opie. Now it worked when he first came in to get a good matchup with Eaton to finish the 7th and that’s when his night should of ended. No way you start him in the 8th with the heart of the order coming up, just stupid loyalty decision by dumbshit Roberts.

  15. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 9:46 am

Yeah Chi, Sims was a dynamite college player for sure, won the Heisman trophy too.Remember great battles with Nebraska and their Heisman winner Johnny Rodgers another guy that fizzled out in NFL..
God that was some great exciting football back then with 2 power house programs along with the Texas Longhorns who wanted Sims badly but snubbed them to go to rival Sooners..

    • unca_chuck said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:06 am

Ohio State’s Archie Griffin was bad ass as well.

      • chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:26 am

No doubt, he was. Only guy that won the Heisman back-to-back. Actually, I believe he is the only player to win it twice.

    • chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:30 am

Yep Kat. In those days when there was a big game (typically Nebraska / OU or Texas / OU) there would be a big party at our house, or the house of one of my aunts and uncles. People eat and breath college football in that part of the nation. Fun times!

  16. wilcojoe said, on October 10, 2019 at 9:49 am

You think Farhan placed a condolences call to his good buddy Dave Roberts after the game last night? Just hope he didn’t end it with, “you know, we do have a job opening here in The City if you’re interested?”

  17. unca_chuck said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:05 am

I think Farhan has seen enough of Roberts’ work first-hand. I don’t see how the Dogs keep him, though.

  18. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:11 am

Think Dodgers are saying like Mike Singletary today, “I want Winners!”

  19. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:17 am

Doesn’t matter who wins the World Series now, though I am pulling hard for Rays to be a 1st time winner.Just the utmost satisfaction that the Dogpile and Rooster 🐔 can sulk in misery for a 31st straight year is euphoria..

  20. Flavor said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:18 am

Roberts is getting too much shit. He brought Kershaw in at the perfect time wehn Eaton was up with men on and he wiped him out. Then he just had to get through Rendon to face Soto and that didn’t work out obviously. But the plan was a good one. Kershaw couldn’t execute.

  21. Flavor said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:19 am

I mean, if you want to say that Kershaw is slowing down at 31 I wouldn’t argue with you. Lots of innings on that arm. But he was brought in at the right time, IMO

  22. chipower9 said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:33 am

Won’t argue with you about Roberts bringing in Kershaw when he did, Flav, but Roberts has regularly pulled the wrong lever in critical times, IMO.

  23. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 10:40 am

I will agree to disagree.I didn’t mind the move to pitch to the lefty Eaton and getting out of that pressure jam, but let him go out with a good job feeling, not tempt fate facing Rendon, and Soto screw the lefty lefty matchup he was dialed in and even said I was looking for a pitch up and end and he put exactly there..

  24. unca_chuck said, on October 10, 2019 at 11:17 am

Yeah, I’m with AK. Roberts has been leaning on Maeda and Jensen all year. To go sideways after Kershaw got the K is something he should be 2nd guessed at.

everytime I see that tinyurl stuff I think of twin. Never seen it used anywhere else but here.

Yep, me too, Flav (on both counts…thinking of Twin, and also the use of tinyurl).

    Go Rays!

Cool story on Richard Sherman. Even though I detested him as a Seahawk, I always had admiration for him from coming out of the streets of LA, to his time at Stanford, and for being one of the all-time best cornerbacks. I am happy as hell that he is now a Niner!

  28. zumiee said, on October 10, 2019 at 2:24 pm

The Dodgers have that lefty specialist, Kholarek or however you spell it, who had been getting Soto out all series, mostly strike outs. Roberts chose not to use him in the 10th against Soto, and walked Soto intentionally instead. That decision backfired.

  29. zumiee said, on October 10, 2019 at 2:34 pm

Thanks for the link to the article, Chi.
“”I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it,” Max Muncy said.
“It’s tough thinking we’re supposed to still be playing,” Kenley Jansen said. “You just don’t know what to do right now.””

    Have a nice off-season, Dodgers.

  30. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 3:56 pm

Roberts is just a egomaniac and his Bromance for Opie eventually doomed the Dodgers.Hey I’m fine if the Dodgers end up keeping this fool,it only helps with the long tradition of failures in playoffs and World Series appearances..
As good as Roberts has been the last 4 years, I believe with the most wins in baseball? He just doesn’t have it as a postseason manager, being out managed every time. You can get a pass for 1maybe even 2 fuckups, but 4 straight? No way in hell, goes for the GM Friedman as well, but I’m sure the axe will only fall on Roberts if it does!
And then there’s Tommy “Lasagna” Lasorda who can still rub his ring and has in Roberts face for never getting one of these beauties and never will as a Dodger manager..

    • zumiee said, on October 10, 2019 at 4:04 pm

I saw someone online write that it seems like Roberts is on a quest to redeem Kershaw’s past playoff failures, and keeps throwing good money after bad. And lots of starting pitchers want to try to have their Bumgarner moment in the playoffs.

  31. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 4:29 pm

Stros putting on their hitting shoes on early,3-0 still no outs. Rays better not let it get out of hand like what happened to Atlanta..

After LA’s dominant win in game 1, Bellinger had a comment something like “Yep, just as we expected”… I remember thinking, whoa dude, be careful with that arrogance…

    • alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:05 pm

Pretty Ballsy statement by Bellinger who along with Seager didn’t do SQUAT in this series!

  34. alleykat69 said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:01 pm

As Dandy Don Meredith use to say::
Turn out the lights the party’s over!
6-1 Astros on back to back bombs 💣
And Cole is dealing and sniffing the finish line to close out Rays!

  35. Macdog said, on October 10, 2019 at 7:32 pm

Yay, ‘Stros finally swat away the Rays. Bring on the Yanks.

  36. willedav said, on October 10, 2019 at 8:00 pm

DeAngelo Russell looks pretty good, unselfish passer and knocking down mid range shots. One nice thing Jenkins mentioned, Curry will not have to defer or share ball with anyone so he’ll get his shots.
Who backs these 2 up is big ?.
    Bigs idk.

    • Flavor said, on October 11, 2019 at 6:01 am

the Russell move was fantastic considering what their options were after KD bailed. I hear everyone talking up Spellman but watching him play, he doesn’t look ready to roll with this squad.
