Kap Motives

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on November 17, 2019

How good would Kaepernick still have to be in order for you to be an owner and want him on your team? I’m assuming he would at least need to be a starting QB, right? Nobody is gonna put up with all this shit for just a back up quarterback. After that, he couldn’t be a “Ryan Fitzpatrick” type either. Showing up with the occasional *magic*. He would have to be like, what, a top 10 QB?

Someone described Kap on twitter yesterday as “worst than an IG model looking for attention.” That isn’t far off. This dude makes everything so complicated. If he really wanted to play he wouldn’t have had a hissy fit about that minor waiver issue. He wouldn’t have ended his press statement (of course it wasn’t a press conference he doesn’t do those) with that silly comment telling the owners to stop being scared. Honestly, who is going to hire a guy who is already mocking you before you even sign him?

He wants attention for his causes and I respect that. But he’s running out of legitimate ways to get that attention.

And he doesn’t want to play football anymore and hasn’t for years. I am nearly positive about this…..

this is bullshit. He should have at least gotten some type of suspension. He was the initiator in trying to pull off Garrett’s helmet he was just too much of a puss to complete the task. And then he was going after Garrett probably even more than Garrett was going after him (before Garrett whacked him in the head with his own helmet).

There is no rhyme nor reason to NFL “justice”.
Apparently, it is what Goody Goodell feels like, er, what the owners tell him to do.
Another reason I don’t pay much attention to this sport nowadays.
And, another reason why NFL players should strike to improve that in the next CBA round…

I’ve stated this before, but Kap would have to be great for me to sign him. And he never has been great. No way in hell you want him as your backup. Football is the ultimate team game where you need everyone on the same page—and he blows that up the second you bring him in. And part of that would be the accompanying media circus.
Pissed me off the NFL settled that lawsuit with him too. He didn’t deserve that money, but it was a total PR move by the NFL. If an NFL team honestly thought Kap could lead them to the playoffs, they would have signed him.
I’m a registered Libertarian. I love free speech and freedom of expression. Kap had a total right to kneel and speak out and I supported that. But you also have to be willing to deal with the consequences of your actions.
And while I’m at it, Nike is full of crap too. They make Kap their poster boy and act like civl rights are a core value to them, but when it comes to Hong Kong, they want nothing to do with helping those people as it hurts their bottom line. It’s Nike who forced LeBron and Barkley—who have both made tens of millions from Nike to make those ridiculous statements bowing to China.

Pavs says triples alley will be reduced little over 10 feet from 421 to 410. Kale garden apparently stays though slightly reduced, pens opposite one another. giants also plan to add seats to areas where pens used to be down each line.
Giants are also putting in Top golf. Mgmt guy from south bay I flew with to conference in Vegas loves TG and spent an evening there after dinner/drinks at the one in Vegas. Thoughts from golfers/others on TG?

Kaep issue too polarizing to talk about. Do wonder how divisive he would be to players, 70% of whom in NFL are black. Media, owners, fans yada yada giant shitstorm no question and each owner does have right to just say no thanks not going there.

I hurt my shoulder so i had to pass, but a few guys from the group i play with are at Anaheim stadium playing a version of top golf. hitting from the seats to greens all over the field. looks like fun. $100 bucks to play. Revenue wise seems lame. Might do $50k in revenue minus all the staff you have to pay? Liability etc.

My other golfing buddy says hey why not bring a cooler with beer to the driving range??

I went to the Top Golf in Vegas with my son&daughter,(5 of us all together)it was great. They have everything, full bar, restaurant, good food and you can get your drinks and food served to you at your golf station! They have a chip/transponder built inside the golf ball, which tracks the distance/launch angle of your shot and shows up on a screen tracking each golfer’s score, pretty cool, and it’s really nice at night when we went, cause all the pin placements are in multiple colors which obviously looks better at night then day.
They also have 3 floors( multi tier golf floors)to check out, a pool and bar on the 3rd floor, billiards, ping pong, corn hole, shuffle board and many other games along with piped in music..Good overall experience, can be a wait during prime hours, though we got in pretty fast, as my son called ahead of time.Price ? I believe was around $85 an hour? Maybe a tad high, but break it down with 4-5 people not bad..

In MLBTR story on the yard, they said Belt has most triples (32) since 2011 of any 1b. Might have to go recheck what I read but…he did have 3 last year which tied for team lead with bunch of other guys.

Shea in story in chron today about all the Boras FAs said something I never thought about–if you can trade Belt, sign Rendon and move Longo to 1b.
He also has Ryu, Moustakas, Keuchel and Castellanos in addition to the big $$$ ones Cole Stras and Rendon.
Gist of column is Giants need to do something to fire up fanbase in a good way and help Kapler out. Killion, btw goes off again on Kapler hiring front page of sporting green.

    • Flavor said, on November 17, 2019 at 12:41 pm

get rid of belt, add Rendon and move Longo to first? Sure, that sounds fantastic.

    • Macdog said, on November 17, 2019 at 12:49 pm

Or add Rendon and get rid of Belt and Longo.

      • willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 12:56 pm

ha yeah he mentioned that too.

  8. unca_chuck said, on November 17, 2019 at 2:03 pm

If this is how the Niners are g0nna play AZ, we may not win again. The D looks awful. The offense worse.

  9. unca_chuck said, on November 17, 2019 at 2:45 pm

And another TD called back. We lead the league in that category with 9. Kittle has 5 of them I think.

  10. unca_chuck said, on November 17, 2019 at 2:58 pm

    Hey now . . .

  11. zumiee said, on November 17, 2019 at 3:25 pm

Kings beat the Celtics! By one point!
Celtics’ shot at the buzzer almost went in. The ball rolled around on top of the rim. It looked for sure like it was going in.

    • willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 3:46 pm

good for Kings. Celts almost lost to awful Warriors the other night. Looks like tanking isn’t gonna be necessary to get lottery pick. Green can’t carry them very far by himself with Russell hurt too.

  12. unca_chuck said, on November 17, 2019 at 3:30 pm

That play with Rudolph looks like his hand could have gotten caught in Garrett’s helmet by accident.

  13. willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 3:43 pm

lot of twitterverse disagreement with going for 2 there.

  15. willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:00 pm

That was the argument right there. If Niners had kicked extra point, lead would have been 5 and should Cards score TD, like now, a FG would beat them. Now it only ties.

    • alleykat69 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:08 pm

Yeah I thought that was an odd call going for 2.

  16. willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:01 pm

Meanwhile Bengals and kid QB only down 17-10 to Raiders middle 4th Q.

  17. alleykat69 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:17 pm

Well I like the 6pts they just got for the Win !!
Great call as the defender slipped for the easy score!!

  18. willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:17 pm

score the TD after Armstead sack, make it moot point. 424 yds for the G

  19. willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:18 pm

oh guy drops football after getting sandwiched. call stands game over.

    • willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:21 pm

man #90 drilled him nice play to salt it away. murray looks like guy who will give Niners headaches for years to come if he can stay healthy.

The past few seasons I’ve noticed that the holder frequently has an extended chat with the PK
    right up until the snap.
    Never used to see that.
    WTF???

    • alleykat69 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:37 pm

Ray Wersching use to just look at the hash lines and just kicked between them every time, made sense..
No chatter with the holder, maybe a tap on his shoulder prior to the kick but that was it..

      • djloo27 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:52 pm

        Exactly, Kat.
        What gives with this shit?

  21. Flavor said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:24 pm

thank God. That would have been a killer loss

    • willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:28 pm

AZ is just tough on them huh? Where did this running back Drake come from? guy kills them.

      • alleykat69 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:32 pm

Kenyan Drake was a good player for Miami, crazy why they traded him..

      • unca_chuck said, on November 17, 2019 at 9:46 pm

They traded anyone worth a damn. Minkah Fitzpatrick is killing it for the Steelers.

  22. willedav said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:26 pm

you know if that counts some gamblers are going to flip as Niners win by 10.

  23. alleykat69 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:30 pm

Yeah it counted and gamblers are livid that had the Cards coveringπŸ˜‚πŸ˜«

    • djloo27 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:36 pm

      They should be…

  24. zumiee said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:49 pm

I think Kap really wants to play football again, but I don’t think anyone in the NFL will sign him. I wonder if he gave the Canadian league a look.

    • djloo27 said, on November 17, 2019 at 4:55 pm

I think his only hope would be a playoff bound team with a closing window and an injured starting QB.
      Any of those around?

    • Flavor said, on November 17, 2019 at 5:05 pm

I’m just curious, after yesterday’s fiasco, what leads you to believe he wants to play so badly? Remember, last year he got a 10 million dollar settlement from the league and that’s on top of the money he’s already made playing.

      • unca_chuck said, on November 17, 2019 at 6:21 pm

Oh, I think Kap wants to play, I just don’t think anyone will pull the trigger. Whether this is purely a stunt by the NFL to shut him up, or fulfill part of the settlement we’ll never know, but if he wasn’t lugging around 500 lb of baggage, he’d be on a team.

What I think is funny is 2 players have killed people driving drunk and ho-hum, no biggie. Multiple drug offenses? Yeah, no prob. Beat up multiple women? Yaaaaawn. Sign here. Multiple weapons charges? Come on down!

Peacefully protest police brutality? How DARE you sully the reputation of the NFL!

  25. unca_chuck said, on November 17, 2019 at 5:09 pm

Spread was 10.5 last I saw so the late TD doesn’t matter. Don’t know if it killed the O/U though.

    • alleykat69 said, on November 17, 2019 at 6:33 pm

NFL should of forced them to kick the extra point to make it 11..Hell some of the refs might have had money on it as well..

      • Macdog said, on November 17, 2019 at 7:42 pm

The whole exercise would be pointless, Niners would probably line up for a 2-pointer and just take a knee.

  26. Flavor said, on November 17, 2019 at 5:16 pm

still seems like a long way away
