Wild Card Weekend!
With Assdribble Cabrera now snatched off the board by the Nationals the Giants need to take a deep breath and head back to the drawing board……Kidding. There’s nothing going on with the Giants. We could take a deep dive into the Tyson Ross signing or we could get geeked for the football games this weekend. I choose the latter….
Still on Buffalo (+2.5), New Orleans (-8) and Philly (+2). No opinion about the Pats game…..
looking at those odds from yesterday I would have flipped GB and Seattle. Niners thrashed Pack and overwhelmed Rodgers and his O line. Seattle on other hand beat them here once already and came within inches of doing it again. Sure the L hurt but they are still in last group of 6 (just like SF even if they had lost) and SF does not appear to have any answer for Wilson…though certainly they have been able to put points on board against Hawks too.
Really like to see them eliminated but doubt they are an easy out, either today or gulp next week here.
The signing of Tyson Ross is about as exciting as getting a colonoscopy. Its just the shits 💩
For this weekend games I’m going with
Bills over Texans
Saints over Vikings
Seattle over Philly
Patriots over Titans
As the absolute worst football handicapper in history, I’d jump on the Pats -$220.
Can’t see the dynasty ending this way.
Now, next week is another story…
They will win this game only because their at home.Once they hit the road next week the magic run will end.. Brady becomes a F/A, should hang em up but won’t..Maybe becomes a Charger?
“they’re” Kat!
Damm Got me Loo! Lol 😂
A couple of days before the 2017 SB, we had to watch Invincible; got fired up for the game while getting that lump in the throat when Vermeil told Papale to keep his playbook. Then the Eagles went out and took care of the Pats….Got the rental again… may have to triple the viewing this time…
Long time no post, Dennis! How you been?
I don’t see Seattle losing. Carroll is very good at rallying his teams. Both teams are battered, but Seattle really wants the rematch.
me yesterday: “Josh Allen is fun to watch”
First drive a 42 yard scamper then he catches a td diving into the endzone on a trick play.
FUN TO WATCH! Let’s go BUFFALO!!!!!!
Hell of an opening drive by the Bills. Josh Allen with a 42 yard run, and a 20 yard TD catch.
Don’t want to see that play in our playbook, Kyle. Josh took a huge shot as he scored.
Jimmy G is not the young athletic type like Allen is, no way Kyle throws that in the playbook especially how he torn up his knee on ill advised run..
It’s kind of amazing to me that NFL teams still get tricked by that play. It seems so slow-moving and obvious when it’s happening. And defensive players have seen that play since they were in Pop Warner league.
Yeah some teamneeds to bring back the old “Statue of Liberty” play for shits and giggles 🗽
Had Singletary on my fantasy team. He’s a baller, just was hurt early on the season and losing reps to Yoda Gore for awhile which sucked..

Oops sorry for the double post😒
Pretty conservative play calling by Buffalo to close out the half.Though that should of been a TD,Allen put right on his hands..13-0 and the Texans look defeated..
Bill O’Brien is completely overrated. He loses nearly every game I watch them play. Challenging that PI call early was dumb and something a fan might do. Head coach gotta be better.
It’ll be interesting if they read the exact rule from the book on that “touchback”…
Yeah, I saw a Niner game in the 70s where both deep returners ran up the field expecting the other to get the ball and the Falcons recovered it in the end zone for a TD. They don’t call it like that anymore with the new style of not running till the ball is kicked.
Yeah, AK, Buff is in it now not to make mistakes. They are going to run and throw short passes the rest of the way.
Yeah Chuck I hate when teams go into prevent win mode.Bill Walsh would go for the jugular vein and by the end of the 3rd quarter he’s resting the starters due to a blowout!
Buff better be careful as 13 points is too easy to come back from. That was a fairly weak 3rd down call there.
Jesus do they call that punt play a touchback on the ref?
Love me some Frank but Watt gets the sack.
Anyone ever see the obscure movie “Buffalo ’66”?
It’s not for everybody, but I recommend it…
Buffalo showing what a 1st time playoff team does under pressure,self-destruct MrPhelps..
Real rocket science call by Booger “The Texans need to go for 2 pts to make it a 3 pt game! No shit Sherlock 🕵️♂️
I’m still trying to find “Two Lane Blacktop” DJ.
Bills Just choked away the FG attempt.
Not sure why they aren’t going for the FG. Even if it is a 59 yarder.
I think it ended up Buffalo66 on the loss!
Dumb play by Hou there. Booger is an idiot. That is a dumb call. Kick it to the 5-10 yard line.
Josh Allen glues it up!! Jesus!!!
They are still Alive!
And still playing stupid football!
I think it was short by a booger..
Booger is an idiot. On 3rd down he wants the Bills to run a draw and spike the ball.
Duuuur. 47 yards. Just like Super Bowl 25
Hauska is no Norwood after all! OT Craziness begins!
Buffalo 66 is a good movie. Loosely based on the missed FG that cost Buffalo a Super Bowl win, obsessed fans, dysfunctional families (all families have a certain amount of dysfunction); the film showcased Vince Gallo’s very original screenplay, acting, and directing. All the acting is very good in the film. Obviously filmed on a pretty low budget. People thought Vince Gallo was embarking on a noteworthy directing career, but that didn’t happen for some reason.
One of the most memorable scenes is when the mother, a pathologically obsessed Bills fan, played by the great Anjelica Huston, keeps playing a video of the missed FG over and over in an obsessive painful masochistic trance.
Great stuff, Zum!
yeah hilarious movie. buddy of mine grew up there, used to give him steady ration of buffalo sucks. He thought every sport was fixed. Mention of the name Brett Hull set him off pretty good.
Yeah the mom watching it over and over is great. Bowling scenes too.
Buffalo makes a huge defensive play and then shits the bed by playing 5 yards behind the 1st down line.
Ridiculous.
I’ve never seen so much stoppage of plays in one game!!
Stop posing and kick the fuckin’ FG…
Hard to tackle someone when you don’t use your arms.
Buffalo got Buffaloed..
They deserved the loss, real good playoff teams don’t choke this game!
The Titans are not awesome on defense.
The Titans are tissue paper.
The only thing I remember about Buffalo 66: Christina Ricci. Very memorable.
Yep…
Derrick Henry is freaking awesome. Tuxedos can run the screen pass too.
Dude drops a sure pick 6.
I’ll take one of those guys, please…
What would a 28 year old Mays contract look like now?
10 years, half a billion?…
I think that’s a reason he was a grumpy guy in retirement. He missed the free agent era.
Baseball player retirement, I mean. He still had to find ways to make a living after his playing days were over.
Tennessee completely wimps out and will now lose.
Of course as I say that, Edelman drops a pass and NE has to punt.
Man, I am loving this NE loss…..
Oh Henry is a rabid dog looking for his bone 🦴 and nobody’s going to stop him from it!!
Huh.Thought Vrabelk was being a little obscure with the delay of game penalties, but it looks like the strategy worked as they burned 1:30.
Not enough though. This ain’t over by a longshot.
Well, now it is , , ,
And that’s your Ballgame!
Pick 6 on Brady to wrap up Patriots dynasty!
I did it again at 9:01 AM.
Chiefs get Houston instead of Pats.
NFL can’t be too thrilled…
This was not a very good New England team this year.
Congrats to the Titans! They toughened up their tissue paper in the second half. 🙂
Why would Belicheat call Edelman back towards midfield on the punt? He didn’t rush the punter and it ends up on the one yard line.He maybe fair ketches it around the 30 with 25 seconds left?
Fantastic evening of football…..
So, the cheatin’ Pats take early exit.
Nobody but NE fans are sad…
Yes indeedly doodly . . .
Yeah, I had the Pats and the Bills. The poor Bills can never seem to get out of their own way. Four Super Bowl losses, the Music City Miracle, and now the Houston fuck-up.
I guarantee that Balt beats Tenn. And the Chiefs beat Houston.
After that, we’ll see.
I have Seattle and Nawlins winning tomorrow.
Chiefs better not screw it up.
A week from today is the 50th anniversary of their only SB win as well as the last time they got there…
I think this year they don’t screw it up.
Ravens obviously are the cream of the AFC crop this year, but I’m not convinced. I think it’s time for Mahomes to shine….
Glad the Pats were able to finally make all you New England haters happy.
Funny how many locals can’t stand local boy (from Serra HS of San Mateo) Brady. Has to watch rest of it this year though. Romo said he ain’t done either.
I’m guessing if Brady had been playing for the 49ers, it would be a different story.
49er fans are very protective of Montana’s legacy. Brady has crashed in on that party.
zum and Paul both spot on. don’t forget Tuck rule that still riles Raider fans. Used to know Fins fan delivery driver who would visit store that was big gambler. Used to crack me up whenever he lost his ass betting against Brady.
Super Fun Fact: Two Jersey guys — Mike Gesicki and Anthony Firkser — played big roles in taking down the Pats these last two games. Gesicki caught the game-winning TD for the Dolphins last week, and Firkser caught a TD pass and made a big catch late for the Titans tonight. Both played in the same high school football conference in my local area. Pretty remarkable.
The Falcons blowing that 28-3 lead to the Pats in the Super Bowl still bugs me if I think of it. I choose to mostly block that memory. 🙂
Yes, that certainly *bothered* a lot of people. Too bad about that, because it was by far the greatest comeback in the Superbowl and probably playoffs as well. Atlanta was certainly partly to blame with their offensive (literally and figuratively) play-calling with that big a lead, but nonetheless, Brady orchestrated the comeback. If Montana had done that, Niner fans would’ve suffocated from all the saran wrap draped across every room in the house…
Kyle Shanahan was probably most responsible for that choke job.
No doubt responsible on Atlanta’s side of the field. And yet, NE still had to overcome 25 points in a very short time. Not sure many other teams or QBs could have done that, even if the other team just laid down and played dead.
Anyway, no matter, Pats are done for the year, that’s good, give someone else a chance. 🙂
Yeah, it gave me a negative vibe about Shanahan when he first took the 49er job.
Yep Paul, eight straight years of the Pats in the AFC title game, enough already.
Agree, John. And when NE doubled down on an aging Brady and let Jimmy G. go to the Niners, I remember saying here on the Flap that was a huge mistake for them and an even bigger gain for SF. This post-season kind of shows a passing of the torch.
Brady had been suspended for 4 games that season as the Pats’ punishment for cheating with the air pressure in the balls in bad weather.
Plus that lousy division they play in. They were just cake-walking to the #1 seed every season.
They’ve been caught numerous times with video-taping opponents sidelines to steal signals.
And there’s strong evidence they taped the Rams’ last practice before the Super Bowl, the original Spy-gate infraction.
The NFL took away a draft pick, but obviously the Pats keep the ring.
Pats have played in a dogmeat division for 20 years. Virtually guaranteed of a division win almost every year, and home field in playoffs with record bloated from wins against division dogmeat. In the minority of times they’ve had playoffs on the road, I believe they’ve not done so hot…
Yeah, not sure, but I don’t think they’ve ever won one of the first round wildcard games. But even winning a bad division, they still had to beat the supposed best of the rest of the AFC to get to the SB. Anyway, it’s all changing now. The Bills are for real and Miami is showing signs of life. The Jets will always be hopeless.
The night before every AFC title game the Pats hosted, the fire alarm was pulled at the visiting team’s hotel in the early hours of the morning, causing all the players and coaches to have to wake up and leave the hotel for several minutes. That was probably just done by New England fans each time, but still….it reminds me of all the crap the Celtics pulled on visiting teams in the old Boston Garden. Pat Riley made sure his players only drank water brought in by the Lakers. That’s how little he trusted the Celtics’ organization.
Just FYI, in all my 15 years in Boston, I always hated the Celtics. Their fans were whiners. And also, I lived in the North End near Boston Garden, and whenever there was a Celts game, I could never find a place to park on the street because Celt fans drove their Beemers into the North End to park illegally on the resident-only streets. Compared to when the Bruins played (and I loved the Bruins), all their fans took public transit to the games… 🙂
Just saw where Frank Gore was running for the Bills today. Did not know he was there.
Sheezus, Frank has been playing forever. I’m afraid for his health after retirement. It is quite likely he’s a prime candidate for CTE after taking 15+ years of that kind of punishment. I wish good fortune to him…
Buffalo deserved to lose..BUT they also got a little screwed. They had the ball in FG position in OT when called for a “blindside block”. LAME! The guy was chasing down the QB. Only thing the O line guy could have done to avoid a penalty in the situation is to let the guy by without touching him. How the hell is he supposed to do that???
They also very unlucky. the key play watson going down for certain till the 2nd guy hit him and bounced him back upright. Not Bills day.
Yeah, that was a bullshit call. But Allen made a lot of rookie mistakes.
PS @ Macdog..i agree totally. Shanahan blew it with his playcalling. I see that in Niners games too. I like the guy and the whole package is good, but he makes some lame play calls at times, and manages the clock poorly.
