Exciting Additions
This text came in yesterday from my main man in Reno, Pa Salon.
In keeping with my new theme of screen shots and pictures, does THAT do anything for ya?

and fwiw the new pitching coach has actually never held that job anywhere before.
But more worried about the level of “quality” which seems dubious at best, than who is coaching or “controlling” it.
From what I’ve read players have said toughest thing for any mgr. is handling pitching staff, and mgrs. affect 4-5 games a year. When Giants finalize 40 man and we have roster set, unlikely Kapler will make much difference either way.
Flav – that is HUGE news. Thanks for keeping us in the loop, bro. 😉
I know we all have been following the Giants for a loooong time, but this year is going to be interesting. They really broke the mold with the hiring of Z last year, and now with him bringing in “his” team.
Out with the old, in with the new. I have zero expectations this coming year, and understand that it will probably be dumpster dive after dumpster dive, but truly am looking forward to ’21 and ’22, to see what Z and Harris can put together. Zaidi has excelled since entering the baseball world. Hopefully this slow burn pays off with a competitive and fun team in a year or two.
Go Niners!
And for Monday’s college football championship, GEAUX TIGERS!
College football needs to redo their shit. Taking the month of December off and then playing the BCS game in the heart of the NFL playoffs completely dilutes their game.
Not that I really give much of a shit anyway, but the bowl games are supposed to be over New Year’s weekend. It has been that way forever. Now it really gets lost in the NFL games.
yes. when was last time LSU and Clemson played, like 10 days ago? FCS does a better job at this. Still, they ultimately did get it right—3 of best 4 teams that got in were way better than the others. This season at least, adding in to 8-12-16 teams would have only resulted in more blowouts by top seeds.
I really don’t care with the timing of this game, and am looking forward to it…delay be damned. And it hasn’t seemed to have an affect on the interest in the game. It has been sold out for some time. Geaux Tigers…
Shea had column on Andrew Bailey the 35 yr old new pitching coach Jan 4 in Chron. He retired as active player after injury problems in Feb 2018. He was with Angels as replay coordinator and last year was bullpen coach there. But he has never been a pitching coach, anywhere, ever.
Why don’t the players just manage the team their older then the coaches?
I feel sorry for Nick Ortiz..
Don’t you have to have Quality before you can assure success?
Ha, you beat me to that one, Kat. With this roster, that’s going to be the toughest gig for any of the new coaches.
Quality Assurance – Lining up the beer and sandwiches on the buffet table.
Good sandwiches are important!
Not the same game we all grew up with.
I am teasing combs of Niners at -1, Ravens -3 and LSU at +.5!!
All the NFL games last weekend was under so I am wheeling all four with the Niners at -7 in a parlay!!!
were under damn you English language!!
Currently Spotrac is estimating that the Giants are $55 mil under the luxury tax threshold for 2020.
Gotta make up that lost parking revenue I guess.
what a pic
GOAT on the right, IMO…
Yes.
how could this be?
actually if Big O only did it 22 times I guess it would be unlikely that someone did it on one of those same nights. I figured he did it 50 times at least. I love that Kareem did it once and then…Beal. Lol
Great pic of Thurmond and Kareem. Nate gave him rough ride, bodied him pretty good and forced him away from hoop on skyhook about all you could do. Saw them battle when Kareem was with Bucks and Big O.
If they had counted blocked shots in those days, Wilt might have had some quadruple doubles.
Jan 20 1968 was game at Astrodome where Elvin Hayes and Houston Cougars edged UCLA and Kareem 71-69 in front of huge crowd. Kareem had been hurt week before playing Cal and wasn’t at his best. But they got revenge at NCAA semis, blasting Houston by 30 before beating Carolina for the title. Kareem was just tremendous in college.
Lew…
Kareem had been scratched in the eye and played that 71-69 game with a patch over his eye. Plus the game was played in the Astrodome which would have been visually challenging, too.
