Show The Flab Four The Door
Crawford, Belt and Posey continue doing nothing, something they have been very good at for years now, while Davis and Bart have come out on fire. I don’t care if it’s only been 2 spring games. If the Giants are going to avoid last place they need players who come out with a sense of urgency and play like they want to win. You can say “that’s not how baseball works. It’s 162 games, it’s a grind, can’t peak too soon” all that jazz.
But that’s not how baseball is played anymore. We need men swinging the lumber. Taking the extra base. Put PRESSURE on your opponent. When was the last time Crawford, Belt, Posey or Longo ever played like that?
It might not work, they may not be good enough, but I’m not going to stand by waiting for the Bore Core to do something. They can’t do it anymore. Get rid of them.
I don’t think Bart should start the year in AAA. I think he would learn much more by backing up Posey right now. The kid can hit and he’d get his ABs with the big club. As for Davis, it won’t take much for him to earn a spot, hell, he probably already has.
I don’t mean to rain on the thread, but to answer the question “When was the last time Crawford, Belt, Posey or Longo ever played like that?”, I’d have to guess yesterday when Craw scored from first on Longo’s 2 run double.
Great post. I agree big time. Also agree with The Clown’s take on Bart. The kid has little to nothing to prove in AAA.
While the Giants pulled-out a wild 11-9 win, the Bore Core went 1-8 with one run scored (props from Johnny Jack, above). The kids to whom Flav alludes lit it up with a six run 7th. This year should be ALL ABOUT seeing what you have in the young ‘uns.
Keith Law ranks Bart Ramos Luciano and Bishop in top 100 prospects, though he doesn’t rank Bart as high as others do; F/G had him at #10. Law thinks all 4 have legit power. Knock on Bishop seems to be his arm, meaning he maybe headed for LF and Ramos too big for CF. So CF should be Davis by default.
Following daily progress of prospects at whatever level should be interesting…big club? not so sure
Long way to go before April. Not that I’m holding out any kind of hope for the flab four but you’d think these guys would have a little pride to be in at least as good shape as their goddamn manager. Blade could take these guys and he’s OLD. Crawfish especially. he’s the one who has been hit hardest by the out of shape factor.
(just kidding, Blade! I’m right there with you)
I think Bart shows up soon enough as long he stays healthy. He has missed too much time due to injuries to elevate him from A+ ball in San Jose to ML. That’s a lot bigger journey than just 50 miles. Let him C couple more months in AAA and hone the craft a little more working with better class of pitchers and get some ABs at higher level.
As far as replacing the Core, plans for Dubon seem most up in the air so I’m interested to see what they do with him. If he can handle SS, don’t see why they don’t just do that and leave him there, especially since they acquired Sanchez and Flores who are more suited to 2b.. Solano had very good part time season but he’s 32 years old and isn’t a power or speed guy you could play every day either.
With spring training games kicking off I’m putting the bad juju aside and looking for positives. I think Posey/Belt/Longoria will be fine to okay. Agree with willied about Dubon and the competition at the 2b/back up infield spot between Solano, Flores and Wong will be good. Not having to watch Joe “Barney Rubble” Panik take slappy swings and turtle down the line is addition by subtraction as far as I’m concerned. The OF and BP has wide open competition and Zaidi will continue the aggressive promotion of players – maybe we see Ramos and Hjelle sooner that we think.
Catching a glimpse of Luciano in San Jose this is a real possibility which would be cool.
In a world of power numbers only, that teams look at is Sanchez with no bat but gold glove defense good enough to stick? What Solano showed with the bat last year, I can’t believe this team is still disrespecting him, he was as clutch as anyone one last year..
And wise up Giants and just give your Giant with the highest ceiling Jaylin Davis the CF job, with Yaz in LF, Slater/Duggar in RF until Ramos is ready then put him in a corner spot..
I want Davis and Dubon in the LU everyday. It that happens I will take my medicine as Kapler spoon feeds us daily doses of the Flab Core
Flab Core…lmao.
The Eatles?
Flabbey Road.
Awesome!
Eat the Meatles?

That is as good as it can possibly get!!!
You know, where most of us are at today, it’s just another Tuesday but in New Orleans it’s laissez le bon temps rouler. Happy Mardi Gras y’all.
Flab Tuesday!
Sounds like a new Happy Meal promotion.
We know they wont have Bart in the big leagues for the start of the season because of the whole contract starting issue. But the Giants are not going to have money issues when it comes time to start really paying Bart. Lot of merit that he should be starting 2-3 times a week
The Blob Squad
Fats Domino
Minnesota Fats
Chubby Checkers
Porky’s
I love the Beatles puns!
The problem regarding moving the Bore Core is the horrible contracts. When the contracts were signed they weren’t horrible, but the players’ decline has made the contracts horrible.
Also, very few high-prospect rookies get promoted before that loophole date in May or whenever it is, which allows teams to not start the free agent clock yet. How the players allowed that loophole in the collective bargaining agreement is kind of mindboggling.
I am dying from these three:
Flabbey Road
Lucy in the sky with donuts
I wanna hold your ham
Dick hammers one in the gap that’s gloved.
Did she come, or is she just breathing heavy???
As they say, there’s always a tweet.
Lemme know when that cannon shot is going off…that is something I do NOT want to miss.
It will be interesting to see if Kapler’s new biomechanics hitting instructors can do anything with older guys. But if Crawford can’t get back to good old 20 HR/75 rbi days, have to wonder why Giants wouldn’t just waive him eat salary and move on. Hard to believe riding out the contract (and that of others) is part of “the process.” In his case and Posey’s at least, replacements are in position.
I was gonna say Ron Wotus was the 3rd base coach.
Remember the snack tandem of Peanuts Lowery and Cookie Lavagetto?
That’s how fuckin’ old I am…
No but I do remember Law and Orta in the OF.
Single, single, single, run.
Double, 2 more runs.
“have to wonder why Giants wouldn’t just waive him eat salary and move on.”
That’s on the ownership group. They have to be onboard with that, and they’ve rarely allowed it.
I’ve heard Kapler talk about Belt and Posey, but he seems quiet about Craw. Hardly anyone in the organization talks about Craw.
Craw has a kind of a hologram status on the team.
If there’s such a thing as a fat hologram.
Maybe we’re being a little too hard on our old WS heroes…
I’m sure Twin would still defend them all.
He would also say wait till Alex Smith gets over his 17 leg operations and he will lead the Redskins to a SB win!!
Nope. Sorry. Not untithe either leave or show something.
They just don’t eat contracts, and when someone showed some cajones (Bow Tie) on Rowand he was shown the door quickly after..
Sadly this team just will not do this compared to other organizations..
Amazing that there wasn’t a single TJ surgery between, Tim, Cain, Bum, Affeldt, Romo, Lopez, Casilla…
Juan Corona killed more people in the U.S. than the Corona Virus…
So far.
Will have? A great joke lost in time.
Shoulda refreshed the page before posting.
It seems like more concern in the news once the virus affected the stock market.
This is great.
