A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Shuffling Our Young Guys Around

“Sucks about Beede, who apparently will miss some time even if no TJ required…options are Webb who will be on innings limit of 130-ish this season, DRod Suarez. Unfortunate.”–WD

It does suck because the last thing we need is anyone to get injured. But Beede has always been more about his draft spot, his potential and his passion for social media. Personally, I’d take Webb > Beede most days anyway. In fact, I’m looking forward to how Kap uses Webb, Suarez and DRod. All three could hold value if used as openers or piggybackers.

This would have been a nice time this season to get a real evaluation if Beede can really pitch. But if there is any TJ Surgery need might as well get it done nownin a wasted season if that leads like so many pitchers to a strengthened elbow and arm…

Have a feeling openers as Flav mentioned are gonna happen at back end of rotation. One of the pen kids opens, Webb goes 3-4, yada yada. He was suspended part of last year and only threw 100 innings, so he’s only gonna get so much run. Other than couple bad outings that jacked up ERA he did look good. Supposedly DRod has amped up velo in ST. Suarez, um just has never been effective for very long.

Want to see something interesting, I was trying to find out how much Mrs. deB’s husband makes; this being California, half of it being hers though obviously future earning power rather uncertain. so checked out Cotts link: Posey Cueto smardz at top of food chain followed by Belt Craw Longo (Rays still kicking in couple mil) Gausman Smyly Watson and then…Solano is next at 1.3 mil and it goes on down from there. As with most things I could be highly inaccurate here but no one else making much at all.

Beede is done. Kruk just picked Suarez as the guy who will step up. Bold call.

I’m disappointed in Beede. Will go down as the guy we passed on Walker Buehler to get:(

    Beede rhymes with Crede.
I think he was one of Twin’s favorite trade targets – or maybe the opposite…

Interesting platoon LU yesterday vs. Opie. Slater at 1b, Dubon at SS Sanchez 3b Solano 2b Yaz (CF) Davis (RF) Dick and one of kid Cs, whom Opie hit after Cueto hit Turner earlier, hmmnn. Yaz got 2 hits one of them a bunt to 3b side. I can see Kapler doing stuff like this.

When did we get Tailgunner Joe? And who would even name their kid that?

mm local story: Menlo School girls b-ball, which has d-1 NorCal quarter final playoff game vs. Bishop O’Dowd today, has been closed for rest of week after a school employee found in contact with relative who does have c- virus. Team won D2 state title last year (coached by John Paye of Stanford) and one of better players has a younger brother on team I assist with. She played in our youth group too in middle school. CIF commish trying to sort things out with both schools and maybe reschedule. Hope they can sort this out and get games in, playoffs are scheduled with 1 rest day all the way through to State finals.

I’ve talked to others about this…it’s the FLU! overreactions are out of control.

Tough break for DeBeede but he’ll have plenty of time to get current on Shake It Up reruns.

His Lady is headed into family breadwinner territory. What’s it pay if you have a fringe part in a B movie?

Looks like Ali should stick to TV

Squat. Well, it depends on how long, # days, etc. My brother in law got me and my sister in as an extra for the movie Inside Moves, with John Savage. Pretty good movie if you want to see SF in the 80s. He was one of the Warriors players (John played at Cal for 4 years + a year of pro ball in Norway). This was back in the mid-80s and I think John got like $1,200 for 4-5 hours of work over 2 days. Pretty cool.

I brought a bunch of friends, and we got to be part of the crowd at the Coliseum. Didn’t get paid anything but I was there for a scene where John Savage is running out of the arena. I didn’t get into the shot, and my bro-in-law is on-screen for about 3/4 of a second! Pretty fun though.

Yeah Logan Webb is next man up for the #5 spot for sure.He is so much a better pitcher then Beede who was totally overrated coming out of college.Damm the Giants could of drafted they’re lockdown 3B Matt Chapman instead of head case Beede!

I did not know that…that is depressing!!!

Belt with his second bomb of ST just now. Smily couldn’t get threw the 1st and Suarez with 2.2 innings, 3 SO & 2 ER.

  12. Bozo said, on March 5, 2020 at 6:35 pm

I don’t know, right now I’m more concerned about Smyly being healthy than Beede being hurt.
