Big Flavor Is In The House
Instead of breaking down that Giants game you’d probably have more fun watching this.

Jesus it’s been a adventure for Slater in LF today, but he’s made 2 brilliant catches..
Anderson looked good there. Who is this Baragar guy? He looked completely unfazed going after the Dogs.
Not a spectacular minor league career, but evidently the evaluators saw something in him…maybe they detected icewater in his veins.
Yeah they’re high on him Chuck. He goes right at you doesn’t fuck around like Gearrin did..
2 innings 19 pitches 14 for strikes nice debut!!
Along the line he got tagged with the super original “Big Shaun”. Though pretty indifferent for SF last season, he did post a good to sterling minor league career. Not many runs score when a bullie whiffs the side. He’s been a starter throughout, but maybe, just maybe he’s channeling an inner John Smoltz.
They got Shaun in a trade with the Red Sox.
Jesus.
Oh boy
Fun while it lasted. Oh well.
almost a disaster.
What in the wide wide world of sports is going on here?
We have taken defense for granted for a while.
W.T.F. was that? Flores is terrible in the field.
He could be DH, and bench Pence.
Yeah. 2 errors already and almost 2 more in just 3 games.
Man, the shift just wipes hitters out.
and again!
Yeah I wish they could make the shift illegal.Play the game straight up..
Come on. That’s like saying safeties can’t blitz.
Jesus Christ Gott!!
That was Solano wasn;t it?
Alternatively players could learn how to hit-not like it’s a new invention
Hey!!! Ballgame!!
whoa Gott escapes with save. Kapler’s on the board.
good to see Clint thx!
The TORTURE is back…lets get another one back tomorrow…
Humm Baby!
They hang on for the win!!
Yippee ya a mother F——rs
Pavs already used word “torture.” From 5-1 to nailbiter.
Sucks for Webb, he should get credited for the win.But u have to 5 complete. So the new guy Baragar gets it I believe?
No fretzkie, Kat. Webb is likely to rack up the W’s, in what could become a nice career. Kapler and the brass will take note–also of the guy who got the “W”. 58 games to go and over that stretch Webb could well establish himself at or near the top of the rotation.
If we split this series, all bets are off.
Didn’t you mean all Bett$?
some soul-soothing music. RIP Peter Green.
Nice. Hadn’t heard it before. No kidding. If F.M. does more like that I’ll have to tune in a bit.
By golly,, they did it. “Gott Mit Uns.” He musta misunderestimated Smith. Thou shalt not challenge major league hitters. But we were two up going into the inning and Dubon’s day was about the same as Mookie’s. But higher expectations for the latter.
In his brief bid Rogers somewhat resurrected himself, though Watson was kinda iffy. Yazzel continues to dazzle and nice to see Davis’ dinger. All in all what should be a pickmeup for Giants fans everywhere (even out on the links in Bend, Oregon) is the fact that this time the LaBumbos looked a bit like stumblebums and los Gigantes played solid baseball.
Likely we’ll see Buehler, Ferris T., tomorrow. I feel he’s their best. Will we see Smardj? Inquiring minds wanna know what the hell is going on.
ESPN game tomorrow night.
Missed the nail-biting final innings, but so glad the Giants finally beat that goddamn team. One thing with baseball back, it’s nice to be able to check scores on the phone again when out and about. Watching Nats-Yanks, something I didn’t miss was Joe Buck.
Rockies Orioles Tigers and Royals all won today too and Marlins won yesterday. How many of these teams can SF stay ahead of?
Great song, Xoot. The early stuff is sooooo good.
Green Manalishi is such a great tune. Haunting lyrics.
Judas Priest’s version is near as good.
He wrote that, along with Black Magic Woman and Oh Well.
Danny Kirwan wrote Coming Your Way, great tune.
Yeah a great song!
There early stuff was real good!
Hypnotize,Rattle Snake Shake also classics!
Today was a reminder for me that I can still enjoy a ballgame and that I still care in my 58th season as a Giant fan…
Thought we would give it all back in the 8th but we pulled it out. After the last couple of days a much needed win.
The roster is full of guys I know so little about or never even heard of…
Yeah get use to that all year with this roster!
Like the saying goes in Butch Cassidy&The Sundance Kid:
“Who are those guys”!
At this point that’s the way I like it.
No more Pence, Crawfish, Belt, and Longo.
Craig, that was so cool. Actually brought a tear to my eye (just the left eye, not sure why). Maybe thinking of my Mom who died almost a year ago. Precious moments, and that one will last forever. Well done.
thank you. It really was awesome and emotional and I can’t believe it all worked out. I totally get why this affected you. She’s 82 I’m going to be so bummed when she’s gone
btw Loo A fucking + on calling the first Wilmet BOMB
mm besides Loo’s call on Wilmet bomb was also the comment about hearing Kapler ruffling some feathers breaking baseball etiquette on not sending out LU in timely manner; as in 90 minutes before game time yesterday. Roberts was pissed and called it gamesmanship according to Pavs tweet. Also Gausman is riled he didn’t get a start and said that’s why he signed here because he was supposed to be SP not 4 inning bridge guy. Apparently Kap said next week will be different. As the Giants turn…
Yeah, the gamesmanship issue. Must be nice for Roberts to trot out Betts, Bellinger, Turner, Seager, etc. every day and not have to think twice about it. He’s never had to manage without star power on his roster. Eff him.
that was the joke–his big decision is hey do I bat Muncy first then Betts or Bellinger…
hey thx for that Temptations vid and pic of David Ruffin and all, great tune. I was in high school in 60s when they were so big, buddies of mine really got into them like the other Motown artists.
Kapler just released today’s “preliminary” lineup.
Hope he stays with it…
Larry Herndon CF
Tito Fuentes 2B
Ollie Brown RF
J.T. Snow 1B
Mike Ivie DH
Jesus Alou LF
Kirt Manwaring C
Jim Davenport 3B
Roger Metzger SS
Skip Pitlock P
I don’t even remember Pitlock. I know I must have seen him.
Shaun Anderson K’d the side yesterday in his one inning of relief.
He was SP and went 5+ for W on flap night late June last season.
Unfortunately he fell apart after that. ERA at that time was 3.86.
However…next 7 starts he gave up 44 hits and 27 runs in 31 innings, plus 7 bombs. ERA jumped to 5.40 and the SP days were over. .Dodgers hammered in relief in game at end of season and final ERA was 5.44
Psychology can be radically different between starting and relief roles. Hard to assess on extremely limited data, but intuition wants to say that maybe his makeup is similar to that of John Smoltz. Watching his pipeline career (via stats only) it appeared to me at the time that his relative dearth of K’s meant he was a soft thrower, lacking in hard heat.
Yesterday, though, striking out the side will snag the attention of Kapler and the pitching ooaches. Even if he lacks the makeup for a shut-down closer he might just have the chops to become that slam the door fireman I’ve been hollering about for years. Three K’s in an inning definitely puts a damper on the psyches of opposing hitters.
The bum’s McGee did that to us yesterday also leaving Yas at first.
