Good Things Happening

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 26, 2020

Well, yesterday was fun. The Giants got their first win and I received many the kudos for being a good son and surprising my mom. I have several friends who have recently lost one of their parents and that video was good for them to see.

  2. willedav said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:40 pm

Kapler making all right moves with pitching so far tonight. Can it hold up for 3 more innings?

  3. willedav said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:41 pm

Should be Dickerson up there right now though.

  4. xoot said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:42 pm

Did espn inteview arod or something? oh, I missed it. I saw him occupying half the damn screen, but I was listening to the Giants analysts. espn is worse than fox. impossible but true.

  11. alleykat69 said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:48 pm

Ok my pick for a HR tonight RUF, doesn’t have that but he’s got a RBI, 2 hits, a walk , a freakin SB, and now a run scored 👏good game not a Ruf night at all,,,

  12. gianthead said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:50 pm

And some props for Heiny Man!!

  13. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:54 pm

I’m gonna croak if I see Pence and Crawfish in the lineup at the same time. And I can’t wait for Longo and Belt to return.

These guys have to seriously eat these deals and just move on.

    • alleykat69 said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:59 pm

Never happen a Chuck, the last time a Giants contract was eaten was Rowand’s and that got Bow Tie fired, só nobody in the organization has the balls to do that again..

  14. alleykat69 said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:55 pm

I was surprised but not stunned to hear during the Dodgers 7 straight titles, they’re record playing the Giants stood at 68-66 far from dominating Giants always play them tough in series rivalry.
Then of course they do OWN the Padres going 85-49 during that stretch…

  15. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:56 pm

But get this win, boys. A split would be pretty epic.

  16. xoot said, on July 26, 2020 at 9:59 pm

kkkoonrod looked great in the 7th

    • chipower9 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:02 pm

Yep. Much better than his debit.

    • djloo27 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:02 pm

Would be great if he can pitch like this coonsistently…

  17. chipower9 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:01 pm

Charlie – was talking about that with a friend yesterday after Giants got the W….how a win today/split would be pretty amazing. Especially given the Giants looked like dogshit the first two games.

    • alleykat69 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:14 pm

No doubt Chi. On paper it should be all Dogpile ,but the last 7 years say no only 2 game dogshit advantage..

      • Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:01 pm

Amazing thing about baseball, Kat, is that you cannot win the game on paper. Its generally nine innings on the dirt and grass and the human factor is huge.

  18. zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:09 pm

Craw has no chance hitting against the shift.

    • Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:50 pm

Crawdaddy’s still clawing his war round the bottom of the bay.

  19. chipower9 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:20 pm

That’s a strike. Get back in the box, Seager.

  20. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:20 pm

Bullshit. But fuck it. I don’t want to face Seager.

    • Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:00 pm

Possibly biased umpiring by the review crew put Seager on first. But the laws of karma prevailed. The bruised, battered and beaten down underdogs during those first two games essentially set the baseball world on its ears and cost the Vegas oddsmakers a sweet bundle. That’s what I love about this greatest of athletic endeavors–contrary to football and baskethoops, any major league can beat any other ML squad on almost any given occasion.

  21. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:22 pm

    Damnnnnn. There you go.

  22. chipower9 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:22 pm

Nice work Rogers. Nothing like torture baseball.

  23. zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:23 pm

    Wow! Gnarly half inning.

  24. gianthead said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:23 pm

Hell of a job by Rogers…did not break a sweat…probably needs to stop throwing first pitch strikes….

  25. djloo27 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:30 pm

Kershaw’s Hankook commercial is as dumb as it gets…

  26. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:37 pm

Yep. He gives up a 5 mile home run.

Betts hit that off his hands and it almost went out

  27. willedav said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:37 pm

surprised Pollock still on 2b. that was hit pretty deep to CF.

  28. djloo27 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:37 pm

    • chipower9 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:38 pm

      Love it Loo!

  29. chipower9 said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:38 pm

    Boom! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

  30. willedav said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:38 pm

yeah! take that ball out of the f-ing ocean!

  31. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:38 pm

    Ballgame!!!

    Hell of a split.

  32. Macdog said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:38 pm

    Gott ’em!

  33. gianthead said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:40 pm

    Yeah Humm Baby!! TORTURE!!!

  34. Macdog said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:40 pm

    Splitsville L.A.

  35. xoot said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:41 pm

wasn’t that game enjoyable? Now if the Giants can just start hitting some HRs, and if Kapler can truly figure out how to use all of those good arms in the pen — well, this could be a fun “season.”

  36. willedav said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:41 pm

Kapler’s pen goes 5 and 2/3 of shutout relief. Took 6 guys plus Smyly but he looks like genius tonite.

    • xoot said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:43 pm

ah, Rogers is hanging a lot of those 80 mph floaters

      • Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:47 pm

Location, location and location. Considerable sangfroid. He’ll slot his spots. These are some of the best of the best ML hitters. I like his athleticism on those p.o.’s at 1B. Chances are he did get plenty of practice as he gradually rose through the pipeline.

  37. Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:42 pm

Well, well, WELL. Alls well that ends well. Kepler won his spurs tonight. Ditto Dubon, Solano and especially Ruf, Smyly and a host of Cool-Hand Bullies. Bully for the Giants.

  38. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:43 pm

  39. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:44 pm

As fun as this was, I sure hope Pence, Longo, Belt and Crawfish suffer mystery injuries throughout the season.

  40. unca_chuck said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:45 pm

Ruf, Davis, Solano, Dubon, and Dick Dick Dick, all deserve ABs over those guys.

    • chipower9 said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:16 pm

Absolutely. Time to eat some salary, but I don’t see it happening.

  41. Macdog said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:46 pm

    And tonight’s winning pitcher is . . . ?

    • willedav said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:58 pm

      Peralta I think.

      • zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:59 pm

        Peralta; you are correct.

      • Macdog said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:02 pm

        Yes!

  42. Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:53 pm

Notice how the home plate ump smoothly gave the LaBumbos the advantage. Looks like some awfully powerful people desperately want the Dogs to win. There was collusion up and down the line as even their video people did not catch that pitch hitting Seager’s knob before it whizzed his wrist. The entire ESPN experience reminded me of the media inaugurating the Wicked Witch of the West even before the votes were in.

  43. Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:55 pm

Slight improvement by our D.H. cleanup hitter. What was that–only one GDP? At least that was the only one he slapped into the dirt. His forte has now changed to flyball outs.

  44. willedav said, on July 26, 2020 at 10:59 pm

Craw and Pence 0-8 tonite. Craw 1-10 in series, Pence 0-11.

    • zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:01 pm

That’s some serious Bore-Coring by them.

    • Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:07 pm

My read is that Pence was in the game and batting cleanup due to some heavy pressure from upstairs. So Kapler played it like the Good Soldier Sveik–gritting his teeth all the way. Good thing he was probably wearing as mask. Ditto with Crawfish. Looks like his gander’s goulash. At least he bats near the tail of the order where he can only infrequently fuck things up as royally as our Yoyo man

  45. zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:04 pm

I hope we see Bart on the team this week coming up.

    • Carstie Clausen said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:09 pm

If Joey hits The Show sometime soon he may need to do a timeshare with Heinie—dude does know how to hit and for a catcher even steal a base (taking nothing away from the Ruf trade).

      • zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:43 pm

I’d be fine with a platoon at catcher, and Bart could also get some ABs as DH.
He’s been putting in practice at firstbase, too.

      • zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:45 pm

He would give the lineup a dangerous power hitter.

    • willedav said, on July 27, 2020 at 6:48 am

recall seeing a tweet from Baggs (@extrabaggs) saying he thought Bart and Hermann would be the 2 platoon Cs, soon.

  46. zumiee said, on July 26, 2020 at 11:46 pm

Kapler says The Shark gets the start on Tuesday, Cueto on Wed., and Mr. TBD on Thurs.

  47. alleykat69 said, on July 27, 2020 at 6:50 am

Marlins home opener cancelled for today as 8 players and 2 coaches tested positive for COVID 19.This is not good going forward for the rest of this season! Pretty pathetic for the Phillies that couldn’t be a team loaded with sick players as well, maybe they should cancel they’re season.
Next couple of weeks should shall be the telling signs of this season continuing are not..

  48. willedav said, on July 27, 2020 at 6:54 am

Muncy though he hit 2 bombs and 2 doubles, only went 4-16.
    Bellinger 4-17 1 double
    Betts 3-20.
So after first 2 thrashes, Giants pitching held their own.

    • chipower9 said, on July 27, 2020 at 7:59 am

Agree willedav, and the pitching, and there was some really nice D behind those pitchers, too. The Giants looked like shit the first two games, and the last two played some relatively clean ball.

  49. unca_chuck said, on July 27, 2020 at 8:00 am

Rogers is scaring me at this point.

    • alleykat69 said, on July 27, 2020 at 8:18 am

      Mister Rodgers scared me too!

    • chipower9 said, on July 27, 2020 at 8:20 am

Me, three. But if he gets outta the jams, even with some torture, I am good.
