A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Put A *Kap* On His Mound Visits

I don’t have a problem with a manager being forward thinking, I like the commitment to how pitchers are managed in today’s new game, but one thing I absolutely expect is that you have to know the rules. The manager has to know the rules.

He owned it after the game but talking before and after games is his wheelhouse. It is WAY to early in his time here to be making embarrassing blunders as he did last night.

I’m certainly not holding this against him.

But it is an ominous red flag…..

9-2. Kapler should be able to celebrate nicely on b-day lot of contributors tonite.

Yeah I was shocked to see the Giants were 7th overall in hitting, 4th in NL.
They have been getting their share of hits in most of the games..

    A Watson sighting!

After some of the NL’s tougher pitching the team was ready for a bit of a break–facing some of the AL’s worst. If Kapler’s shaking around in his shakedown-cruise, the Texas manager really messed-up, leaving soft-throwing Minor in waaay too long. About time this team had it some fun–with most everyone contributing–with one exception and I won’t even need to mention his name–not with this buncha crazed out Giants fan-atics.

Encouraging inning of work from Watson, hit 90 even, maybe he’s ok now?

Jeeze, it was a breeze. Maybe those rumors of Watson being a bit down and out were just that–rumors. Mentioned earlier that to be successful these days a team needs no fewer than 5 reliable relievers. With 6 you can count on, you’re in high corn. Seven and your’e playing the harp in hog heaven.

Dubon having some adventures at SS. 9-2 and Giants, just like the Mariners (4-4) who beat Oakland tonite 5-3, both have better record than 3-4 A’s

Back to .500! Other than the errors and yet another all-too-short stint by the starter, that’s gotta be their best game. Drama-free in the late innings anyway.

Pads win 8-7 win at Coors, scored 4 in top 9th to take lead, then barely held on with Pom Pom getting final out with bases loaded.

What looked close and moderately tense turned into a laugher, with contributions (almost) everywhere, both in the hard-hitting lineup and on the mound. Situation changed drastically from games 1-6 where the Giants went toe to toe with the LaBumbos and kept the Friar Tuckers on their toes. Facing a team without a particularly scary lineup and a pitching staff sorely missing the presence of one Nolan Ryan, Los Gigantes had them a field-day, eating up some good home cookin as well as Texas toasted hurlers.

Should the plandemic not knock out the season, this mix n’ match bunch that Zaidi put together could finish right around .500 and only miss out on the playoffs because the Tuckers and the LaBumbos are just a tad ahead of us in team development. So whodda thunk it going into the season.

And the Dodgers lose after D-Backs rally for 4 in the 8th!

WIth 16 teams making the playoffs we are in the hunt. 12 teams may be quarantiliminated so any team standing makes it!
