A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Devastating Loss

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 15, 2020

That was just…..fucking awful. The manager’s job is to push the right buttons. Kap is not pushing the right buttons. I don’t understand why Belt can pinch hit but not play late inning defense. Jesus Christ, defense is the ONE thing he CAN do. You send him out to CATCH the ball not to try to HIT the ball. This is managing 101, man.

Had this exchange with Krueger last night. I think he wants there to be action at the trade deadline because it’ll spice up his job. I just can’t see it happening. But I guess we’ll find out.

Gott’s breaking pitch dives low quickly, and batters just spit on it. He is Strickland basically, which is too bad.

DFA Pence, Panda and Gott right after the game.
    Make a fuckin’ statement…

Belt too. He left a runner at 3rd in bottom 8th, and is absolutely worthless at the plate.

Unreal. No words.pence hit a chopper? No never saw that coming

  4. zumiee said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:42 pm

    “Kapler pushes the wrong buttons”

How many good buttons does he have to work with?

    • James said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:45 pm

It’s no use, Zumie. Sometimes God decides to reward the absurd.

      • willedav said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:53 pm

or let them face the music. It was a mistake to bring in gott last night instead of set up guy and then to leave him in long enough with nothing for A’s to tie the game. And so was today, when he lost it in similar fashion.

      • unca_chuck said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:57 pm

He sent in a struggling reliever who struggled again. He could have made the change. Jesus fucking Christ.

Home run, gift double, near another hit batter, fly ball, walk.

Hmmmmm. What’s the worst thing that could happen?

      • James said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:42 pm

Gott was not a struggling reliever going into last night’s game. He’d allowed 6 baserunners in 6 innings and one run, 4 saves and a win. There was nothing mistaken about choosing him for the 9th Friday night.

    • willedav said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:45 pm

um why you push the one he did after what he saw last night? The A’s own him. Was this some kind of mystery?

25 pitches last night, Gtt got hammered!
It’s not about getting him back out there to prove everyone wrong it’s logic that the A’s own his ass!! God I can’t stand Kapler and his fucking analytics BS!!!

    • James said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:46 pm

I think he was trying to be old school, Kat, by showing confidence in his guy.

  6. djloo27 said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:45 pm

They don’t owe Pence and Panda any special consideration.
They were both already gone and brought back…

  7. zumiee said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:46 pm

No Giants fans had a problem with Gott when he pitched well earlier in the season. Turned out to be an illusion, unfortunately.

  8. mrsprtdude said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:46 pm

I’ve gotten so just seeing kaplers name irritates

  9. willedav said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:46 pm

Giants lose this it will ruin Flav’s great call on Ruf.
But he can run same headline and lead.

  10. gianthead said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:47 pm

I fell asleep with a nice 6-0 lead last night and wish I had fallen asleep an hour ago…wtf. Gott on my fantasy team no bueno…

Giants 2020: Make A’s Great Again.

  12. zumiee said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:48 pm

Man, the A’s closer is the real deal.

    • Macdog said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:51 pm

He might just be, but having to face Pence, Crawford and Dubon isn’t exactly a difficult task.

  13. zumiee said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:52 pm

The Giants have Yaz, and the A’s have about 6 Yazzes.

  14. alleykat69 said, on August 15, 2020 at 7:52 pm

Let’s see how Kapler explains this pile of steaming shit in his postgame.Letting Gott continue to get ripped with no site of bringing in anyone else again.Just like last night as u watch hit, walk, hit batsman, then HR’s as he looks dumbfounded in the dugout!!

Yeah, one of my faves. FIrst album I ever bought was Quadrophenia.

  18. willedav said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:03 pm

gott has faced 12 batters in 2 games vs. A’s
    2 BBs 1 HB
    4 HRs 1 2b
3 outs plus botched fielders choice
    As Kuiper says, ownage…

  19. djloo27 said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:12 pm

Anybody know what they’re paying Kotter?

    • alleykat69 said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:16 pm

A collection of dogs hit in a bag would be a overpay for Kapler right now..

      • alleykat69 said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:22 pm

        Dog shit💩💩💩💩

      • djloo27 said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:23 pm

        Depends what kinda bag…

    • unca_chuck said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:35 pm

I hope Mr. Kotter takes the rest of the summer off.

  20. mrsprtdude said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:13 pm

Kinda wish i hadn’t seen it listed like that. 8/12 reached with 5 extra base hits. Unreal

  21. James said, on August 15, 2020 at 8:50 pm

A nice walk around the neighborhood after one of the more fucked up SF losses ever. How is that even possible in a season that means jackshit? Mrs. James: “Why did he leave that reliever in? It was obvious what was going to happen. It was just like Bruce Bochy.”

    • zumiee said, on August 15, 2020 at 9:44 pm

In 2016, Casilla blew 10 saves or so. The Giants then went out and got Melancon for 2017. Yikes.

  22. unca_chuck said, on August 15, 2020 at 9:11 pm

They’ve had a lead in 9 of their 14 losses. For what that’s worth. I think the last week, they lost 5 games from the 7th on.

  23. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2020 at 7:18 am

    Crazy lightning storm passing thru
