Kapler Is A Moron
Maybe there is a way to look this up: Has there ever been 2 games back to back with a worse pitching line than this?
You’re like, “Come on Flavor, you’re being dramatic, of course there has been.”
Well then, show it to me. Because until I see it with my own eyes I declare this to be the worst back to back pitching performance in history—certainly SF Giant history.
I hate Kapler for many of the same reasons you all do. But the MAIN reason I hate him is for ruining the victory laps I was planning on taking for making one of the most direct and accurate calls of all time:
and then come on THIS ONE was the one. I could have looked like a complete dipshit had he not hit one after this bombast, aye?
Score moving from hilarious to dark comedy…
Peralta’s ERA is now 9.35
But wait not to be outdone
Rodriguez checks in now at 9.82
Yeah this BP SUCKS!!
Meltdown day. So much for moving D-Rod. Far and away the worst series of the season. Well,at least we know about the players who don’t work out. Ones who get it done are pretty sparse. Glad I spent most of the afternoon digging in the mud, hauling rocks and filling in divots in the back yard. We do have a couple of very fungible pitchers, though, and with the shortage of rotation pieces throughout most of the contenders, there may be a lot of nibbles. Bites would hafta depend on the offers.
An offer for a dead ball player should not discounted at this point Stix..
Oh my Bad Rodriguez’ ERA stands at 13.50 I gave him too much credit. He does fly by Gott who stands at 12.86 !
our bullpen is terrible. Our pitching staff is terrible. That’s not on Kap, that’s on Z.
Only reason to watch the rest of this pile of shit is to see if Solano can extend his hitting streak to 18 games to get one game behind Pagan’s 19 game streak..
Some Meso American cultures would expect the a’s to leave China Basin today with Kapler’s head on the tip of a spear. I bet Z would love that. What a relief. Wotus? You’re up, buddy.
Wotus will never be the Manager, Book it!
I would give the job to the chick first!!
And that ends Solano’s hitting streak at 17! Still great accomplishment #7
Well I’m sure glad they brought in Ruf for a defensive replacement..
Doobie. Too little, too late, man.
2 touchdowns and we’re good.
Heineken’s ERA .000 just sayin..
Last chance for Donnie Barrels.
Aaaaaand pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.
You know I live in soCal and i just now saw useless fuck Pense run around the flyball in the 9th yesterday. It doesn’t change anything but I was already bitter he was on the team. Why take away ABs from young guys you might rebuld with in a rebuilding year? made no sense.
We have (had) great memories of him. As Craig said. An all time Giant. Those memories are being replaced with that flyball and the 500 weak choppers he has hit in 20202.
Maybe we should throw Timmy out there for a comeback so I can not unsee memories of him being freaking useless too!!! Fuck.
Never had faith in Kap. I’ll admit the players seem to play hard for him, but mistakes count too and the players will lose respect for him if he keeps blowing it, as they likely did in Philly. I’m a fantasy baseball guy who owned the phils closer in 18 so I had to find out what was up there. His in game decisions were wrong from day 1.
This was from the NBCsports Philadelphia page in the story about his firing….
…..Upon getting the Phillies job in the fall of 2017, Kapler moved to Philadelphia and frequented some of the city’s restaurants and coffee shops. Despite his efforts to connect with the community, he was not embraced by Philadelphia and some of that was his own fault. Several of his data-based decisions backfired in his first week on the job and he was booed during introductions before the home opener in April 2018. His uber-positive appraisals of the team’s play, even during irksome losing streaks, did not sit well with Philadelphia fans who prefer their critiques more unvarnished. Even club president Andy MacPhail recoiled at Kapler’s penchant for sugarcoating and urged the manager to be more frank when critiquing the team….
I my mind Kap puts Z on notice that a guy with 2 years of experience still can’t manage a bullpen, or make substitutions that make sense. This year is a wash, but 2022 won’t be. I’m hoping praying the Flap will still be here when he gets fired after next season to say you heard it here 1st.
If they don’t make at least 3-4 roster moves before the next game, it’s a big fuck you to the fan base.
What’s so hard about cutting Pence and Pablo loose?
They did it once already…
Has to be done…hard reality!!!
All we need is Bart! (oompa tuba toots)
All we need is Bart! (oompa tuba toots)
All we need is Bart! Bart!
Bart is all we need.
Bart is all we need.
It’s easy!
Hear that sound??? That was the fist nails being hammered into the 2020 Giants coffin…
We all had a good two week mirage that maybe we could be a .500 team and who knows that might be a wild card team this year. Instead, by all reasonable appearances, we might very well be the worst team in the NL…
I’m predicting Clippers NBA championship over Milwaukee which is not a big gamble…I would not mind seeing the Bucks win if that meant Giannis is one step closer to a Dubs uniform…
Would be nice for any leftover Buffalo Braves fans who might’ve stayed with ’em…
Don’t forget their San Diego fans.
No shit, Loo. I heard about 10 seconds of the post-game, and he said he would ‘evaluate things and move forward’ or some shit. Davis instead of Pence is a no-brainer. Get Dubon back to the infield. Crawfish? He needs to go.
Dude, I’ve been saying Mr. Kotter was a placeholder since they got him. He’s not here to manage the 2022 team. He’s here to get them there and get canned.
Had K. played his cards right we might well have won ten games by now, with an even dozen as a modest possibility. Team morale must be down there somewhere in the Marianas Trench now. Amazing that some of our dead wood value the $$$ more than team pride and their own honor. Well so it goes. This is the U$ in 2020
Who can we turn to be a manager by next season. I expressed my personal thought that I like Bud Black as a manager and the Rockies are definitely a surprise team. I hate this analytical Moneyball bullshit. I am an old school guy (shocking isnt it??? Wife always says Im a 1950s husband and my response is why is that a bad thing???) and love the game the way it had always been played in the NL!!
Now I realize the opportunity to swing for the fences is a modern game reality but nothing replaces playing fundamental ball based in pitching, great defense and timely hitting. This series against the A’s showed the glaring weaknesses as an org with the first two most especially with how Kapler has managed the staff. I dont trust (and feel pretty certian) he does not know what the fuck he is doing…
What old school guys are out there to take over???
I think I have that Roger Craig card. Mother’s Cookies?
Maybe I’m biased, but I think the ideal 50s white USA head of household was Johnny Cash. My dad, rest his soul, did pretty well by that standard. I don’t believe there are many like that around these days.
Maybe Kapler will quit this off-season in a paroxysm of shame. Probably not. Most likely, he’ll be back next year.
The Dodgers brought up a prospect and today he hit an HR in his first major league AB because of course he did.
Padres have a losing record now. Baseball’s a grind.
The one constant of the 3 in 5 teams was the stellar pen.
A parade of failures ever since – O’crap, O’Shit, The Doughy Fuck. Gearinzzzzzzzzzzz, Strick, Melonhead, and many others. It’s one thing not to have much hitting and almost no pitching, but when you screw up in the field day after day you become an embarrassment…
