A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Kap’s Gott to Go

This guy…..

I don’t like this guy.

Any manager with a brain wouldn’t be putting him in a meaningful spot. Let him work out his problems in the bullpen with his coach or in blowout games.

But Kap is brainless…..

AZ knocked out A’s Frankie Montas in 2nd and lead 9-1 bottom 3. They’ll be in town this weekend after Giants welcome Angels for 2 more at the O.

I’m really going out on a limb and predicting 2 of three from the Snakes. Maybe even a sweep. Giants are ripe for a WTF moment….

    Sorry Flav…

Cool stuff. Albert King had to be the only guy to play with the strings upside down.

      That is bad ass….

Well, go figure. Here it looked like another case of Slaughterhouse-five and whaddya know, something got turned around in the process. Kapler’s big pronouncement gave Gott a comfort zone, though, as he grouped him with Rogers and Watson, noted that they had been too much lately and that he’d be using none of them today. Worked out okay as Shaun of the Andersons gave only a single run, though made it interesting with the first two getting on.

So was Anderson unnerved, facing the ML’s best hitter? Suddenly he turns headhunter (or so it looked) and the umps had them a confab. If he was sending them a message, it worked in a weird kinda way. Happened to catch the game on ESPN as nephew had it playing. That dude has a closemouthed mean look to him. He’s not the kinda guy I’d like to see giving someone nasty looks in some bar down in Arkansas. Wildman has the heat, maybe the stuff in general…if he can learn to harness it and gain some command and control. Maybe what he needs is a pitching coach who is a rare combo of takes no nonsense but is patient and calming. If MLB wasn’t locked into the Fed$ tyrannical hardon against cannabis, a few puffs might cool him down a degree or two and transform him into a dominant closer or fireman…Still thinking Trout’s cage is still rattling.

That all said, Cahill took a couple steps forward and lasted four innings this time instead of two. Oddly enough, the bullies were rock-solid. Even Baragar. Sam and Jarlin looked impressive. Still can’t quite figure out why they only got one inning stints. As a long-time starter in the minors and when he first came up, Wildman could be best used (maybe) as a fireman/longman. Maddon got 5 outta Barria and only in his final frame did the “old” (31-34) B.C. Boys went all double or nothing on him. But Giants couldn’t touch him over four. Bochy could have made something outta this bullpen by now. That was his forte’.

YaZmataZ continues to impress. The complete player. His diving snag on that sinking fly was a thing of beauty. For a leadoff man he drives in a lot of runs. Again, that bomb leading off the first maybe set the tone for the game. Ol’ Carl must be strutting like a peacock back in Massachusetts. If we weren’t stuck in the stoopid lockdown he might be buying a round back at his fave. His grandson is the kinda guy you build a team around. Add a couple more stellar players and we got us a team.

    Late-arriving Clint.

If Kap told Anderson to throw at Trout, and I am nearly 100% sure he did, that’s just another fucked up decision by our *leader*. If you can’t fucking hit a guy in the ribs you have no business throwing at someone. Missing Trout’s head by an inch? That is some completely fucked up bullshit.

Guess I’m not as certain as you about that, but if so, that was totally bad sportsmanship.

Kentucky Downs just canceled having fans at their meet this Sept. This is officially the final nail in the coffin on fun this fall……

    • djloo27 said, on August 18, 2020 at 7:03 pm

Why so troubled over that, Flavor?
Looks like they’re full speed ahead with football and are even going to allow a reduced amount of live fans…

      • Flavor said, on August 18, 2020 at 8:32 pm

because I wanted to fucking go.

      • djloo27 said, on August 18, 2020 at 8:51 pm

Isn’t it amazing how that never crossed my mind?

    • djloo27 said, on August 18, 2020 at 7:16 pm

In New York (except for Saratoga), they do everything they can to alienate people from attending the races. Belmont & Aqueduct might as well put up “KEEP OUT” signs…

Isn’t Laura Loomer that dopey broad who chained herself to a building to protest getting banned by twitter or something? She just won a primary WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON???????

“John Focke, in his first year as the radio play-by-play voice of the Charlotte Hornets, has been suspended indefinitely after he tweeted a racial slur.
The former Timberwolves and Lynx broadcaster tweeted about an NBA playoff game Monday night, and typed the N-word instead of “Nuggets” when referring to the game between the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets.”

    • zumiee said, on August 18, 2020 at 7:29 pm

“Focke has apologized, saying he’s not sure how he “mistyped” the team’s name.
“Earlier today I made a horrific error while attempting to tweet about the Denver-Utah game. I don’t know how I mistyped, I had (and have) no intention of ever using that word,” Focke wrote.”

At the time, he was probably listening to WAP. (Song of the summer, right?)

      • James said, on August 18, 2020 at 8:14 pm

        When you have a name like “Focke” . . . .

      • Flavor said, on August 18, 2020 at 8:35 pm

i mean, come on, this is like the A’s coach with the mistake hitler thing. There’s no way this guy did that intentionally. Although having said that I don’t even know who he is, I just don’t think anyone with a brain would risk their sweet job to type the N word.
I saw the video of the A’s coach. Only a damn fool would believe he did that on purpose.

    • unca_chuck said, on August 18, 2020 at 8:51 pm

His spell check went to the most likely correction.

      • unca_chuck said, on August 18, 2020 at 10:47 pm

Thing is though the letters for nugget and, well, you know, are very close to each other. If you type it and hit send and don’t read it, you’ve typed bigger.

Way to go Chuck! Touch of Grey is great.

The dire state of the music scene for musical artists these days. Tours cancelled because of Covid-19.
    And this:

    “jay zasa
    @jayzasa

Eight Miles High just came on the Spotify stream, wondering how
    @RogerMcGuinn
    and
    @thedavidcrosby
are going to spend their share of that sweet .003 of a cent.”

    • chipower9 said, on August 19, 2020 at 7:36 am

This is why I continue to buy CDs for the artists and music I really like, as it is the best revenue stream for them (sans touring).

Bucks and Lakers both lost their first game in the playoffs. No home court makes a difference.

    • unca_chuck said, on August 19, 2020 at 8:19 am

If the Lakers drop out in the 1st round, I’d laugh. Like the Dodgers losing in these 3 game play in playoffs

  13. willedav said, on August 19, 2020 at 7:10 am

Warriors used to own Portland. Dame would get his, sure, but otherwise GS won out most of the time including playoffs no matter where they played. He’s got them rolling right now, incredible shot maker.
