Finish
Ok, so what has to happen today? We need to win and the Brewers need to lose. Our old pal St. Louis needs to step up and beat a pretty beatable team. Both games go off at roughly the same time.
Also, the Niners facing The Giants.
Lots of Giants action today.
19/21 pitches been sliders.
Fuuuuuuck. Bad call.
Bullshit strike call…we are playing for the playoffs f’n blue…
this umpire is insane.

I was actually looking forward to getting one of those deletions at some point.
Hey man, I got a lot of shit going on right now, censoring you because you are actively breaking the rules is not really what I want to be doing today, dig?
I naively thought my post might make the cut.
Sorry about that.
go back to FB to talk about that shit.
The Grave Duggar appears!
wilmet with another clutch bomb.
they should never ever open the knothole again.
That’s just crazy to see two of those in one game.
Santa we have all been good boys and girls…one more run!!!
Willllllbuuuuuur!!!
YES!!
Game over. Brewer lose.
What a fuckin piece of shit this fuckin ump is…
They are all pieces of shit, some just smell more.
MLB guys saying Longoria 3rd guy rung up on balls out of the zone. Grr
he’s umping as if the fix is in.
This ump sucks. Ball 4. That’s 2 i’ve seen that were wrong. Apparently there were more,
Dubon, same inning as Slater.
Man ump is brutal.
Baer said part of ? about whether or not to close archways would depend on fans being allowed back in or not.
Guess that would also depend on if attendance can be full or only partial.
Has made it more fun to watch, though pitchers might not agree.
Just ridiculous.
Does this ump have a plane to catch?
The homeplate ump is not awesome.
This guy is umpiring as if in contempt of the strike zone…
Well, at least we put up a fight. Didn’t realize it was the 9th.
Gausman with some dignity. Now let’s fucking go!
Come on!!!!!!!!!!!
Here we go. All i can say is at least we made the 9th interesting.
Bart has a fuckin bobble head when he swings hard
Bart is a bit of a disappointment. YEah, he didn’t get any AAA ABs but I thought he’d show a little more power.
If we can get the Grave Duggar to the plate, we’ll pull it out…
Unreal.
saying to myself, Slater you better be swinging…
Oh god dammit. What a way to end it.
Overmatched. Out of time. And fuck that ump.
Damn. Epic fail this weekend.
If anyone thinks not time for robo-umps….4 strike outs on bullshit….
The league should fuckin’ investigate.
Why is Kapler not giving this cocksucker hell???
Kapler, Gott, And Coonrod should have a threesome taking turns bending each other over!
What a lousy day to be a Giants fan.
I was hoping not to see that one.
Ump awful but we did it to ourselves. Grr
Pads beat SF 8 out of 10.
Jaylin Davis would of saved the season if they called him up last week..
Well gentlemen. It was quite a ride. Beyond all our expectations starting out. Only in one of the four games did the Friar Tuckers seriously outclass this striving team. Got in 5 hours of heavy work today, so arrived at the outer in time for the last two outs of the ninth. So I missed out on all but the final frustration, Question: Will Kapler return next season?
Yes, he’ll be back next season. He’ll get at least one more season.
If you have a contract with the Giants, you stay with the Giants – no matter what…
Damn, I thought they had a shot to win one of these last two even after the Friday meltdown. The pitching just couldn’t hold up, even in a 60-game season. At least there were some fun times this season and they were in it right to the end, unlike the last three years.
I don’t even know how many games are in every round. I assume the World Series is still 4 of 7.
I think first round is best-of-3, with all the games at the higher seed. Then the usual: best-of-5 next round, best-of-7 LCS & WS.
Thanks.
I wonder if the Padres will be tough in the playoffs or just kind of fizzle. They seem legit.
I wonder if the Dodgers preferred the Brewers or Giants. The Giants plays LA tough usually.
Well, to fight back one last time and make it close, down to the final strike (which wasn’t a strike), it still makes me proud of how this team battled and entertained this year. They blew my expectations out of the water. Thank you Giants for making it interesting. And tortuous…
Looking forward to a little hot stove. Will be interesting to see where things stand come spring training time.
Proper ending to a very fucked up day.
Thanks for the FB shout out, Flav. Sorry to read about what’s going on at your house with Katie and her granddad. I hope everything works out for you all. Strange days my friend. strange days.
sorry about your dog, Clown. He looked like he was a good ol’ boy….
I have been calling for the robots for a while. Bring ‘em on…
The Rays are the #1 seed in the AL.
Who saw that coming a few months ago?
A sad day to end our season. Luckily for me (sort of) i don’t get to mope, as i am watching my 7 year old niece. My sister in law has an infection 5 days after surgery and is in the hospital. Cliche but puts losing in baseball in perspective.
Re kap..How many games did he personally lose due to bad managing minus how many players failed that was on the player? Compare that total to how many games we won compared to expectations before the year? how we fought back a lot, and almost finished .500. A very lofty goal at seasons start or when we were 8-16.
1 more win and he would have rec’d some manager of the year votes. He will be back, and likely deserves to be.
Sign Yaz. Now. 2 year deal for $18 million.
I saw someone on Facebook say that without Kap’s mistakes the Giants would have been 38-22 this season.
It’s not a sterling endorsement of Facebook baseball discussion.
That person is a moron.
“1 more win and he would have rec’d some manager of the year votes. He will be back, and likely deserves to be.”
You’ve defended Kapler a number of times (in different ways) and quite frankly, you’ve been spot on every time. I don’t know why most Flappers don’t like him . . . Perhaps, him following Bochy is part of the reason. Again, I don’t know. I only know this – players are the ones playing the game, not the manager. I also like what Leo Durocher said, “Baseball is like church. Many attend, but few understand.” In effect, I personally have zero idea about what he knows FIRST HAND and I only know from watching the game. Same deal with our GM and Mr. Z. I am not intimate to what they all know on a day to day basis.
So back to Kapler . . . The Giants pitching staff wasn’t exactly a particularly strong group entering the season. Forced to be more reliant on an inexperienced bullpen, manager Gabe Kapler’s bullpen management skills were tested early in his tenure. It didn’t exactly go smoothly in the beginning. However, most of those trends have shifted. I still have concerns about how he manages bullpen rest, but in a shortened season with expanded rosters, that’s been less of an issue. I still think this team has 2-3 more years before they are a legit playoff team.
I recently discovered there are relatively new episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on the IFC Network.
The show seems funnier to me now than when I saw it before, a long time ago. It’s kind of a comfort-food comedy show in these times. There have been 217 episodes over the years, and I’ve seen about 5 so far. A lot of episodes are on YouTube.
To me Blade, Kapler needs a better “Gut Feeling”
on how to handle a bullpen. When there is no oil in your engine it will seige up!
That was the situation I felt how he stubbornly stuck with Gott&Coonrod to try and close out games when pitchers like the 3 lefties Selman, Watson are Garcia could of easily closed out the games he screwed up on sending the gloom and doom combo out there!
I agree he’s still feeling his way Kat but Blade is right–given pitching staff he had to work with, pen implosions were bound to happen. Pomeranz blew game for Pads the other night, happens to everyone.
The good thing about Kap and giants finishing 60 game season is he has better idea of who he can trust/who needs work. this will help immeasurably for 2021, and Zaidi and Harris can have a better plan to add in to what they already have. Plus Beede and Moronta should be OK, fwiw.
Giants had a +2 run differential and an expected record of 30-30, so they underachieved. 😉
It was almost a Laker/Celtics finals again for the umpteenth time, but Miami gets the job done.
Butler gets his moment. Kind of a hot-head, but a very good player.
Iguodala back in the Finals.
Mr sports dude – regarding signing Yaz, he is under team control through next year, then has three years of arbitration’23-‘’25, and will be an unrestricted FA in 26.
No need to roll-out tall dollars for at least a year. If this was an arbitration year, he would certainly win his case if it did go to arb.
Thanks Chi. Great news. For some reason (likely because of his age) I thought was a FA.
