    On cbs site they had 5 minute segment with Jim Bowden, who had picked Tampa and Dodgers. He said he thought all along Rays had edge in pitching, and yeah spoke glowingly of the Brosseau AB and Rays in general as a mostly platoon team of grinders who battle without big name hitters. Bro was brought in to replace LH 1b Choi as Yanks went to Britton and Chapman.

    I think playing NLCS in new Rangers yard, which is big and seems unfriendly especially to LHs, is ideal for Braves and gives them fighting chance.

    great day of college football starting off with classic rivalry Oklahoma and Texas.
    Pac 12 and Big Ten will be playing soon hopefully. Stanford practicing over at Woodside HS, Cal to begin locally too maybe at Memorial Stadium. Local counties making it tough with restrictions on how many players allowed. San Jose St. had taken busses to practice up at Humboldt St.

    Blues day — two early hours on KZSU and then three on KPFA.

    Is today’s Tex/OU game in Dallas? That’s where they usually play this time of year. It’s sort of half-way in between the schools so both fan bases flood in. The place looks like a super-spreader event to me today. Those rowdy fans have been drinking for 24 hours straight.

    I was there in Big D in 98 for a sports law conference the Friday before the big game. My conf presentation on developing and protecting the IP rights of athletes went ok. I had the recent, well-publicized case of Kareem Abdul Jabbar v. Karim Abdul Jabbar to use for demonstrating how trademark law works (Big Kareem v Little Karim, guess who won, etc.). Two young women attorneys in the audience invited me to share a cab back to the fancy hotel where everyone was staying. Tex/OU football fans had taken over the place. We ate a good steak dinner and joined the party. I was somewhat amazed at how drunk everyone got. I guess I’d never seen an upper-middle-class bacchanal before. Somehow I made my late-night flight and slept all the way to SFO. The towncar that picked me up had a long wide back seat, too. Fun day, then. Glad I’m not there now.

      I’m watching Florida @ Texas A M pretty good sized crowd there too, not a lot of distancing. good ballgame couple good QBs 38 up with 4 and half minutes to go.

    The play by play guy said if for some reason it goes to a 5th OT it comes down to 2 pt conversions by both teams so who’s ever tough enough on goal lines should win it.That’s if they’re is any players left who haven’t passed out from heat exhaustion..

      Lot written out here about Mr. Harris–single Mom, and “the toch” is a rough area. Hope he managed to further his education at Bama. Running back in NFL not a long term gig; probably come in for more punishment than other positions beside special teams.
      Mostert did that too. Still “questionable” for today?
