A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

That’s how many days it’s been since it was 1988. Honestly, I would be fine with them making the WS because it’s always more hilarious when they lose on the grandest stage……

Whatever, they have so much talent, the days of us laughing at their 32 year failure is nearing an end. But until that happens, I will be LQTM at their inability to close the deal…..

Ok I know I lost focus on the season and only was paying attention on our demise the last week of the season, but I was f’n shocked watching Panda fielding a ground ball during the bottom of the 9th as a Brave. Had no frickin clue that he was even signed and that he would even make their post-season roster. Gives us one more reason to root against the f’n Flodgers…Dusty’s Stros look done…

Duvall,CUlberson, Panda, Smith, Melancon….how are the Braves doing this?

    • willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:13 am

fangraphs had pretty good breakdown and Braves compared well overall for lineup. Pitching was little different for depth of SPs but Braves pen guys very tough…kinda funny both closers have, um, issues.

    • gianthead said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:58 am

      And another Flodger “closer” imploding…lol!!!

    • chipower9 said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:32 am

Regardless of those guys, they were 2nd in the NL in runs and HRs. They were middle of the pack in pitching. So, outside the offensive prowess, maybe smoke and mirrors? 😉

  3. willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:02 am

Was funny to see him out there at 3b. Braves have thin bench to begin with so might not be last time he gets in a game either. And face it, just like if Crawford were to wind up with Yanks, those guys immediately bring the cred of couple rings. Lot of other teams beside LA that haven’t won in long time.

?: are these 7 game series in bubble yards 2-3-2 for “home” teams? If so another advantage for Braves last night to go up 1 and after today have 3 home games in row coming up. Very well pitched game by Fried and co. but they will need 3 more of them.

  4. Bozo said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:06 am

Gotta say Melancon catching Albies’ HR while warming up in the bullpen was pretty cool.

  5. willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:10 am

Braves have only won once in the ATL years (Justice HR over Tribe), right? Before that you have to go back to late ’50s. Braves and Yanks split 57 and 58 I think.
When was last time Yanks won Series?

    • Macdog said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:16 am

      2009 vs. Phillies.

      • gianthead said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:00 am

Kershaw scratched tonight with back spasms.

    • willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:23 am

Must be serious. Just saw story didn’t see any background.

  8. willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:21 am

No Opie tonight. Gonsolin to start.

With the Fakers winning the NBA title this year (I watched zero minutes of NBA this year…just does not hold my interest), it would be par for the course for 2020 if the ducking fodgers won the WS, too. I of course hope that does not come to being.

    Go Braves! Go Rays!

I am going against my normal standards and rooting for the AL this year in the WS, regardless of who represents. While I will always have love for Dusty, there is just something I like about the Rays, how they are constructed, their manager, etc. WTF, let’s have true new blood in a WS champ. Go Rays!

    • willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 10:08 am

Rays are really sound ballclub; taking down Yanks alone quite an accomplishment. Good pitching, good D (Margot grab just one of many yesterday) and timely hitting. Stros might be in for revenge of baseball gods–blew all sorts of scoring ops yesterday and lost despite only one mistake from SP.

  10. unca_chuck said, on October 13, 2020 at 10:12 am

    Case of the yips?

  11. gianthead said, on October 13, 2020 at 11:09 am

Kershaw not starting??? Means the Flodgers have a shot at winning….lol…

    • Macdog said, on October 13, 2020 at 11:12 am

Haha, right, can’t fall into 0-2 hole.

  12. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 11:53 am

Wonder if Opie has a degenerative back condition?
His back issues are coming up quite frequently the last few years…

  13. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 3:13 pm

Fuck the Dodgers that 1st pitch of the game could of broken Acuna’s hand! Message pitch on the 1st one cause they got there asses handed to them? Eat a pile of steamy dog shit Dodgers!!

  14. willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 3:46 pm

Interesting comments from Smoltz there on how long Anderson spent in minors, 80 starts and 377 innings. He said that made him ready to go and be effective right away, vs. hard throwers who come up sooner, know how to control only one speed, and wind up going up and back down.

No reason to humiliate Kershaw in a gm4 elimination game.. Yeah I’m calling the sweep 🧹 Braves the far superior team!!
Oh jeez 6-0 now Lol 😂

  26. zumiee said, on October 13, 2020 at 5:15 pm

The Braves are enjoying the underdog role that the Giants enjoyed so well in the 3-in-5 run. Play loose, play hard, and see if the favored team starts to tighten up a bit.

    • djloo27 said, on October 13, 2020 at 5:19 pm

The record low NBA finals ratings with the “King” Lebron playing os highly humorous…praying for Giannis and sticking it to the Fakers next year…

  29. willedav said, on October 13, 2020 at 5:55 pm

wow Kiermaier with great catch to snag bomb away from Bregman. Rays SP isn’t throwing anything harder than 89. Altuve already took him out.
different day at Petco though. No shadows at this time and it’s hot down there, mid 80s today.

  30. Macdog said, on October 13, 2020 at 6:30 pm

Lowlife Bums throwing at Freeman now.

  38. gianthead said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:20 pm

Damn stopped paying attention to the Flodger game at 7-0 but turned it back in time after Bellinger’s triple to add my curse to ensure the third out just in time!!!

  39. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:20 pm

No doubt about it right Melonface? 🙄
    Anyway u get the W .. up 2-0!!!

  40. gianthead said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:21 pm

Maybe with the way Belt played, he should keep the bone spur…

    • xoot said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:08 pm

He’s too old to be . . . wait, never mind.

  41. xoot said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:40 pm

  42. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:41 pm

Altuve is the new Steve Sax/Chuck Knoblach with the yips at 2B!!
Cost them bigtime last night, about to cost them again..

  43. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:48 pm

Yeah thank you Altuve for your defensive ineptitude which now cost your team the lead..

  44. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:54 pm

Rays this inning are taking more hits then Hitman Hearns..

  45. Macdog said, on October 13, 2020 at 7:58 pm

    Poor Dusty.

  46. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:07 pm

Altuve throws could be affected by not wearing his wire anymore..

    • unca_chuck said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:39 pm

The fucking announcers were saying Altuve might be hurt. He can’t throw a ball 20′?

  47. unca_chuck said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:11 pm

DIdn’t notice this. Melonhead caught another Albie home run

  48. xoot said, on October 13, 2020 at 8:50 pm

The Giants got Melancon in time to deal with his arm breakdown and pay for his rehab.

  49. Carstie Clausen said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:16 pm

Rays and Braves? Could be happening. Would be very good for baseball.

    • xoot said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:21 pm

  51. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:43 pm

Fuck Houston let them get screwed!
3-0 now as Dandy Don would sing “Turn out the lights the parties over” for the Asterisks!

  52. alleykat69 said, on October 13, 2020 at 9:46 pm

Rays&Braves would be exciting, the 2 best teams left, both with great bullpens.Still Rays even better and will win it all in the end..

    • djloo27 said, on October 14, 2020 at 4:39 am

      Good for baseball.
      Bad for TV ratings…

  53. mrsprtdude said, on October 13, 2020 at 10:50 pm

Glad Astros lost but the called K on Altuve was brutal

  54. willedav said, on October 14, 2020 at 6:39 am

Didn’t see last inning of Braves game (watched Rays instead) but on twitter Braves fans were upset at Snitker for bringing in Tomlin. Also the error by Albies before Bellinger hit triple off M. Some thought this would give life to LA who wound up with tying run 90 ft away after being down 8-3.
Even though 2 teams both up, good games so far.

  55. willedav said, on October 14, 2020 at 6:46 am

Rays D was super all night. Leaping grab at CF wall by Kiermaier plus sliding catches in OF, great scoop and throw by Adames in hole at SS. Pitchers worked out of difficulty all night.
