A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

NFL

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on December 6, 2020

It’s weird to be back in lock down and yet NFL is going on like usual. There are some interesting match ups today even without the Niners playing. Can the Giants keep in close in Seattle with Colt 45 QBing? He’s one of those “game managers” right? Taysom Hill is still doing whatever it is he does with Brees set to possibly return next week. Brees fractured 11(!) ribs? How is that even possible? Niner fans are rooting for the Rams today, right? Yuck.

MLB Channel showing Game 4 Giants Tigers…a young almost clean shaven Belt just went triple to drive in Pence who doubled top 2nd…couple of these Tiger OF never heard of nor obviously remembered.

  2. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 8:39 am

Since the human body has 24 ribs I guess Brees has 13 more he could possibly fracture.Didn’t he have a punctured lung as well? Man you have to be one tough son of a bitch to endure all that and expect to get back in the saddle next week are 2.He should at minimum be wearing a knights fully armor outfit upon return..

Btw…Taysom Hill is just a boy toy for coach Peyton who’s had a hard on for him ever since he drafted him and never really knows how to use him QB?TE?WR?RB?KR?PR?
He’s yet to throw a touchdown pass in his 2 starts maybe in his career? I can’t see him leading this team in the future at QB..

wow Chron said Bob Hess Sr. died at age 86 from covid, contracted when GGF had their outbreak last month.
Said he had been released from hospital and then was re-admitted when symptoms returned.

It is amazing the the NFL is still working. Four more weeks until the playoffs. I still think something will go wrong in that time period. Maybe they can control the fewer teams that make the playoffs but I just don’t see it working unless they get the vaccine right off the bat. The way the virus is trending we may all get it sooner than later. Sorry about being a buzzkill but this shit is real.

  5. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 9:54 am

No buzzkill at all Winder, it’s getting worse everyday in every county are state for everybody.
My daughter and her fiancé have rented a cabin up in Twain Harte for Christmas to getaway from all this turmoil and invited me to go.(It’s a beautiful area up in the pines and lakes but I’m on the fence about going)But I don’t think it’s wise to go anywhere, but u can’t convince the younger generation to just hunker down at home..

  6. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 10:39 am

dang Raider TE D Waller 6 grabs and TD in first quarter.
Shades of J Rice vs. Charles Dimry.

    • djloo27 said, on December 6, 2020 at 11:28 am

Chiefs had no answers for him either…

  7. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 10:43 am

Yeah passing game is rolling,Waller,Ruggs and Carr already 109 yards passing!

  8. unca_chuck said, on December 6, 2020 at 10:48 am

Raiders down 13-7 to the Jets.

It would be so Raiders to beat the undefeated Chiefs and lose to the unvictorious Jets.

    • alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 10:58 am

Not to shocking with this bunch after getting blown out 43-6 to a hapless Atlanta team.( granted they are playing better after dumping “The Mighty Quinn”)

  9. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 10:54 am

Best rule the NFL ever did was moving back the extra point try’s.They just aren’t automatic anymore and if u blow one it can change a game, maybe having to go for 2,are a win late cause your down 4 because your kicker botched an extra point and the FG won’t get u into OT..

  10. unca_chuck said, on December 6, 2020 at 11:01 am

It certainly adds an element of uncertainty to the extra point. Seeing that the success rate of 2 point conversions is around 50%, it isn’t the easy thing I would think. A it is, the 35 yard XP is about 94% successful,

    • djloo27 said, on December 6, 2020 at 11:25 am

You have to be a certain age to remember the XP being a 10 yard kick when the goalposts were still on the goal line. I think it’s a little too far, now. Mostly everyone agrees that they screwed up the onside kick with a dumb rule. I think they might reverse that one eventually.

      • alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:06 pm

Yeah even as a kid I thought that’s pretty dumb having the goalpost at the goal line and I know a lot of receivers felt that way when they crashed into them and got hurt..

      • alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:13 pm

And yes Loo the onside kick now is useless without a running start.
It was kinda cool when half a foot Tom Dempsey kicked that 63 yarder when the goalposts were at the goaline back in the 70’s, still remember a disbelieving Lions team thinking no way he could make that..

  11. Macdog said, on December 6, 2020 at 11:28 am

And now you’re seeing why the J-E-T-S are 0 and E-L-E-V-E-N.

  12. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 11:36 am

Yeah the Jets are a terrible team .Still can’t believe there stupid management hasn’t fired they’re stupid HC Adam Gase! And Darnold just plain old sucks and will always be a “Statue of Liberty QB”with no mobility and automatic turnover machine, who’s as brainless as the rest of the team.

  13. zumiee said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:14 pm

I don’t see the NFL changing the new onside kick rules. The old strategy was for the kicking team to line up 10 guys on one side and use the first 5 guys to just blow away the guys trying to field the kick, and then recover the kick with the other 5 guys. The receiving team has the obligation to field the kick after 10 yards, so it puts the receiving team into a situation of having defenseless players. The league never goes back on rules that protect defenseless players. The receiving team, obviously, can’t load 10 players on one side because they have to cover the whole width of the field because of the 10-yard recovery rule. If the receiving team loaded up 10 guys on one side, the kicker could kick to the open side and recover the ball himself.

    • djloo27 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:22 pm

There’s gotta be ways they could at least modify it some.
      I think they’ll figure something out…

    • alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:31 pm

I get what your saying Zumie, but maybe if the league made teams lineup 5 players on both side of the kicker that evens out an advantage and brings back more excitement, as it is now it’s probably 98% recovery rate for the defense..
Now on kickoffs I’m fine with it now, players were really getting blown up and concussions 🤕 were really up when these players were reaching maximum speed to seek and destroy..

  14. zumiee said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:18 pm

I know fans hate a lot of the new rules that seem (to those fans) to over-protect players, but with all the new knowledge about the longterm effects of multiple concussions, there’s no going back to the “old NFL.”

  15. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:22 pm

Mac good luck to NYGs today. anyone knocking off Seachickens is cool.

  16. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:25 pm

Jets have moved ball today too…not dead yet.

    • willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:31 pm

96 yd drive for TD. penalty on the f- up 2 pt conversion.

  17. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:45 pm

TD Jets! holy shit 28-24 NYJ.

  18. djloo27 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:45 pm

Nothing like young legs at the skill positions.
What was the point of using old man Gore all these weeks on a winless team?

    • alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:46 pm

      To keep them winless?

    • unca_chuck said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm

Gore wasn’t getting any time anyway as they were down early and often.

  19. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:45 pm

Raiders doing they’re best now to lose to the 0-11 Jets now trail 28-24 🤣

  20. unca_chuck said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:59 pm

Biscuit fumbles on the 5 yard line with the Bears up 3. They are now losing.

  21. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 12:59 pm

Jets had them beat, then another stupid 4th down penalty will probably cost them that 1st win..

  22. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:04 pm

Incomplete in end zone! Jets up with minute and a half.

  23. xoot said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:10 pm

    Vegas!

    • xoot said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:17 pm

I wonder how Raider fans, or ex-fans, here in Oakland view these games. The kid down the street whose black over white hot-rod mustang bears the license plate DRK CRR; the Latino construction workers whose silver pickup trucks are festooned with Raider logos; the statuesque, black-haired woman I saw at a tailgate party who wore nothing but a snug, transparent mini-dress of silver chain mail. Wtf can they do?

  24. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:10 pm

    Only the Jets

  25. Macdog said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:11 pm

    Unreal.

  26. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:13 pm

I just can’t believe how dumb the Jets are!!!!
LOSERS!!! How the fuck can you not have 8 guys are more lined up at the goaline!!
Stupid is as Stupid does 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  27. Flavor said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:13 pm

    that was…..incredible.

  28. Flavor said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:22 pm

people are calling that a tank. Come on, the players don’t tank. Ever. You could argue the defense they called on that play was a tank but I can’t see the coaching staff, a staff that likely won’t be here next year, trying to lose in such an embarrassing fashion. That was just plain old terrible football from a terrible football organization

  29. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:25 pm

MVP and Gameball goes to Jets Defensive Coordinator Greg Williams who dials up a blitz? Leaving 1and1 with speedster Ruggs are u kidding me? I almost believe they called that pay to make sure they lose and make sure to keep that Trevor Lawrence pick intact over Jaguars!!

    • Flavor said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:27 pm

why would the coaching staff intentionally try to lose to get a guy who they won’t be coaching next year? It was just an incompetent call by their d-co

  30. unca_chuck said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:26 pm

To think Adam Gase was nearly the 49ers coach. He is an incompetent idiot. Miami is doing great without him, and the Jets are now dogmeat with him running the show.

Niners can pas the Bears if they beat Buffalo. Minn is currently in OT with the Jags! Not holding out much hope there though.

  31. Flavor said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:35 pm

tanking exists in the minds of fans and, maybe in the minds of ownership. Players don’t tank. And again, why would a coaching staff tank to get a player they aren’t going to be coaching?

  32. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 1:53 pm

As dumb as the Jets management is maybe they still don’t fire Gase are this inept coaching staff..(0-12 and they haven’t dumped anyone?
I bet Lawrence was throwing a tantrum knowing he will be a Jet when Jacksonville would of been a huge upside..

  33. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 3:08 pm

Very painful to watch Carson Wentz play football. This team has no imagination and a QB whose constantly under pressure..

  34. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 3:51 pm

Goff sure looks like different guy today.

  35. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 3:54 pm

Kyler Murray too for that matter.

  36. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 4:02 pm

If the other teams in NFC West were near as good as supposed to be they would have run away from depleted and Nick Mullens led Niners.

  37. Macdog said, on December 6, 2020 at 4:09 pm

    WilleD, Giants did it!

    • willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 4:13 pm

Ha, that is so awesome congratulations! And yes WIN the battle of Division Leaders, on road in Seachicken City.

  38. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 4:12 pm

Good for the NY Giants Mac!
Knocking off Seattle on the road!

    • Macdog said, on December 6, 2020 at 5:02 pm

And knocked them out of first place!

  39. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 4:19 pm

Start the Jalen Hurts clock if your an Eagles fan!

  40. unca_chuck said, on December 6, 2020 at 5:16 pm

Saw the Bears snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the morning game.

Worked in the yard all afternoon (oak trees have tons of mistletoe in them) then I went to the store and Garrett texted me that Seattle lost! What the actual fuck happened? This weird year can’t get any weirder.

This game tomorrow became very big. If Mullens ever gets a clue about quarterbacking in the NFL, tomorrow would be a good time to start.

  41. willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 6:21 pm

Nice old school pic of Lenny Moore there, one of my early heroes from Balt Colts.

  42. Flavor said, on December 6, 2020 at 6:26 pm

KC play calling too gimmicky down by the goal line

  43. Flavor said, on December 6, 2020 at 6:34 pm

no tank. This is what this d-bag dials up

    • willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 6:46 pm

The DB could have played to keep Ruggs in front of him. He tackles him game over. Without safety help , you can’t let him get behind you with so little time left.

      • Flavor said, on December 6, 2020 at 6:53 pm

sure. But that’s the point, this wasn’t some conspiracy tank job. It was just incompetence from top to bottom

      • willedav said, on December 6, 2020 at 7:25 pm

you’re right I’m sure Jets players wanted this one badly; running game was awesome. Orlovsky is sharp too.

  44. alleykat69 said, on December 6, 2020 at 7:33 pm

Never liked punk ass Williams ever since his bounty head hunting days rewarding his players bonus money for hits to mayhem a player in NewOrleans! This PÓS should never have been allowed back in the lead after his suspension..
I’m glad he got fucked over on a total stupid defensive call at the end! Karma’s a bitch Greg!!

  45. unca_chuck said, on December 6, 2020 at 8:09 pm

Yeah, in the NBA, tanking is accepted. Even baseball just by simply putting AA-AAA guys out there and losing a couple hundred in a couple years. Football? Not so much. there are so few games, and as the Giants showed today, even they can beat a contender.

Denver is giving the Chefs a tough game.

    • Flavor said, on December 7, 2020 at 6:19 am

Sure, by putting shitty players on the floor. But those players aren’t tanking they are trying their best.
