I’m changing the thread but am still hyping the NFLBBB contest. I’ve only gotten a half dozen or so entries and considering the voracious appetite I saw a few days ago for the game that surprises me. The deadline is kickoff first game Sat morning but it will be easier for me to organize the entries and spit them back out to you if I have them before that. The good news is that everyone submitting so far is playing for cold……hard…..cash. Deadline for Sugano to sign is 5 PM ET today. With all those opt outs in J league contract, maybe he waits a year if he doesn’t get offer he likes. Would make him year older (31 now iirc), inhibiting length of deal.
Report indicated he is looking for a higher deal than Kikuchi got at 4 years and $56 mill. F that without seeing him pitch against mlb talent at his age. Farhan will never do that deal. I can deal with waiting till next year and will have potential there big time SS free agent options next year and add a right-handed power bat and plenty of additional money will be around to add two starters potentially. Should be playoff competitive by 2023….

Steph wasn’t very good last night, but not enough help either. Clips have a really good team with more depth in front court than GS, but their plan worked perfectly. Double Curry and make him pass off–which worked for 2s, but with Wiseman Oubre and Green out there, plus Paschall Looney and scrubs, cut down their 3s.
Clips didn’t shoot well either and Warriors held Leonard down most of night. Last 5 minutes cost them, when Batum and Beverly hit 3s and Warriors didn’t. Interesting to see adjustments in rematch tmw.

Latest on MLB.com is that the Padres arena hot pursuit of Sugano. Go figure. Less tahan an hour to go before decision time. He’s asking for 4 years. SF unlikely to go for that?

Great pickup by the Mets getting Lindor! Met fans must be partying hard today in the Bronx’s getting arguably the best SS along with Tatis in baseball! Lindor is such a great player with a great personality and will be the face of the franchise for many years as I have no doubt that they’re owner Cohen will lock him down long term like the dog pile did with Betts.

Word is that Sugano becomes a free-agent at the end of the Japanese season. Details weren’t clear, but it could mean that the Y. Giants would have no further hold on him. Maybe, he wouldn’t even be seeking a three year contract unless he once again totally wows them in Japan. Could be good for SF with so many heavy contracts expiring at the end of the coming season and plenty of cash to dangle for quality S.P.’s. The question now is who is Plan B. for the fifth starter in the rotation?
