A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

And The Winner is MacDog!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on January 11, 2021

How fitting is it that the guy who took it upon himself to update the total score after every game ended up being the ultimate winner of the contest?

MacDog, victory must feel sweet. And to the victor go the spoils. Now comes the difficult part. Getting Flappers to pony up. But fear not I will publicly shame any and all who don’t pay you in a timely manner.

Email me how you would like to recieve the loot and we’ll go from there……..

And thanks to Loo for the idea for the contest and the obvious enthusiastic kudos to me for keeping the blog going all these years 🙂

I was there. $5.00 and we moved to the upper box seats on the 50 near the suites. Joe’s coming out party. I watched the entire game a couple months ago. It’s on youtube.

My dad made us leave at halftime, he was so pissed at how bad they were. Then I was so pissed at him after what happened in the second half.

Congrats to Mac. Mac, I can send you a check via snail-mail, or pay you via PayPal or Venmo. Let me know my friend.

And as Flav mentioned, congrats to Loo for the genius of the idea, and Flav for putting the mechanics together to make it happen.

I did go 5-1 against the spread this weekend. Wish I would have had some real action on the games. There had to be a three-team parlay win in there.

I still don’t get how the Rams, whom the Niners beat with total chump QBs, own the Seachickens while Wilson has his way with us.

    • Flavor said, on January 11, 2021 at 8:07 am

i don’t get it either. And Wilson is fucking untouchable when we play him but every time I had the game on the Rams were sacking the shit out of him. What’s up with that?

      • willedav said, on January 11, 2021 at 8:16 am

Exactly! The freaking NYGs beat them and sacked him 5 times. Niners couldn’t do that even with Bosa and Buckner last year.

  4. willedav said, on January 11, 2021 at 8:38 am

First time around, Niners jumped on Rams for 21-6 lead in first half. The G had 3 TDs QB rating of 124, Niners outgained them by 80 yds, 0 turnovers and time of possession was 38 to 22 minutes.

Second time they won with Mullens and his 77 rating; he threw for 250, 50 more than Goff whom we picked off twice. Defensive TD, time of possession still 34-26, and D forced 4 turnovers, and sacked Goff twice. won with 2 late FGs by Gould.

The Rams are still playing and one of 4 top teams in NFC? BS.

Maybe Wilson just isn’t the same QB without the 12th man.The team always rise to a new level with them and they have been flat without them.Wilson&Metcalf we’re not on the same page until it was to late,Metcalf pouting on the sidelines doesn’t help, Lockett a non factor along with a running game that was non existent and a Rams defense that were all over them on every play spells an easy defeat..

I don’t understand any of this.

    • djloo27 said, on January 11, 2021 at 11:21 am

      West coast bias, Pawlie…

  7. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 10:48 am

Coaching, scheme, it’s a number of things. The first time the Niners played LA we absolutely shut down Aaron Donald. He had like 1.5 tackles. The quick passing game negated the Rams pass rush. Cooper Kupp was shut down by 3rd string PS guy Jamar Taylor. Plus we were fairly healthy with Jimmy G, Kittle, and Deebo all on the field.

The 2nd time, the defense played extremely well. We were down to 3rd string DBs but still got pressure with our base D and some blitzes. And Mullens only had 1 turnover.

  8. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 10:54 am

For all of the injuries and shit, without the turnovers this could have been a decent playoff team. No one looks very good outside of KC.

  9. alleykat69 said, on January 11, 2021 at 10:54 am

And sometimes you just have to look at the coaching.Shanny owns McVay while McVay owns Carroll that’s what the track record proves..

  10. Flavor said, on January 11, 2021 at 11:25 am

another coach who supposedly tanked gets fired. Seriously, why would he tank if he thought he was getting fired? Unless the call came from the top and he had no choice and his fate was already sealed.

      Jets will be interested…

  11. alleykat69 said, on January 11, 2021 at 12:21 pm

Philly has issues with the quarterbacks, the cap, older players etc.
But I do believe Pederson ends up with another job and the Jets maybe being the one as Loo mentioned due to his connection with GM Joe Douglas. There alittle behind other teams hiring process but should not matter much if they have a short list there thinking of..

    Or Venmo, Mac.

  13. willedav said, on January 11, 2021 at 4:08 pm

Saw a mock draft today on cbs sports site that showed niners taking an OL first…but Mac Jones was still available (Lawrence Fields Wilson and Lance were gone) and taken few picks afterward.

  14. alleykat69 said, on January 11, 2021 at 4:23 pm

Hope that’s not the case, a cornerback like Caleb Farley would still be available for a secondary in dire need for a starter with Sherman likely not coming back.

    • willedav said, on January 11, 2021 at 5:45 pm

They had Surtain going earlier to Dallas, Caleb later at #24.

  15. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 5:59 pm

Jones is a 2nd rounder. I’d go OL, QB, CB. I think we can cobble together a decent secondary with all the parts we have. Sherm is gone. Or CB, OL, QB. I’m not sure.

We’ll see how Jones does tonight.

Just heard Belichick turned down the presidential medal of freedom.

    Wow.

    • xoot said, on January 11, 2021 at 6:05 pm

Mistake from the start. Trump got confused about the patriot thing.

  17. alleykat69 said, on January 11, 2021 at 6:14 pm

Mac Jones just fumbled as Ohio St capitalized to tie it up at 14-14.Jones just isn’t mobile enough and could just turn into a fumbling machine like most qb’s that can’t scramble around..

  18. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 6:20 pm

Yeah, that’s why I think he goes mid-2nd round. Local kid Najee Harris is having a game.

  19. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 6:39 pm

Well, Jones is hitting all the passes. Not under much duress and these guys are wide open, but still.

  20. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 7:00 pm

Fields ain’t nearly as on target.

  21. alleykat69 said, on January 11, 2021 at 7:07 pm

Talk about having a game, my lord WR Davonta Smith going nuts 3 TD’s caught a shitload of catches and receiving yards and it’s only halftime!!

  22. Winder said, on January 11, 2021 at 7:16 pm

It wouldn’t bother me at all if we go OL at 12. We have so many needs i think we trade back to get more picks. We have lots of holes to fill. Alabama is just too good.

  23. alleykat69 said, on January 11, 2021 at 7:31 pm

Mock drafts are all over the map with the 49ers pick.
From CB’s Patrick Surtain and Caleb Farley are Jayce Horn
to OG Wyatt Ohio St, and other OL men to even a trade with the Eagles sending #12pick #43 and a 3rd rounder in 2022 to move up to #6 and draft Trey Lance who Shanny is drooling over and the 49ers figure the Lions would draft him at 7..

  24. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 8:09 pm

Funny thing about draft prognosticating is no one gets it right. From helmet hair Kiper on down. You get past the first 5 picks and no one is right. Ever.

Our interior line is bad. Richberg is great but he can’t stay on the field and he may not even be ready next season. I think we should move McGlinchey inside and get a tackle. And a center at some point. McGlinchey is just pathetic at pass protection. And we need to keep Jimmy G upright if we are gonna keep him. Or even not.

    • willedav said, on January 11, 2021 at 8:57 pm

Williams issue has already been brought up by Chron beat writers. Might be expensive to keep, and might prefer to test waters and see how much he could get on open market.

  25. unca_chuck said, on January 11, 2021 at 9:29 pm

I think they’ll figure out a way to keep Williams.
