A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Saturday!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on January 23, 2021

Not much of a Saturday without any football. Carson gets another adventurous trip to the vet to get another glucose sensor strapped on him. Oh how I love trips to the vet. lulz.

We have 4 or 5 entries so far in the NFLBBB3 so if you’re on the fence about playing I’d get in if I were you.

Dubs in Utah tonight….

Utah is tough, another game in learning experience for Wiseman vs. Gobert and Co. Kerr still looking for shooters in backcourt when Curry sits, or even to play alongside him. If inconsistency keeps up, I’d imagine they try and pick up a vet and waive someone. Noticed Lakers still have Wes Matthews but don’t use him much. hmmnn
Looks like kings got balanced scoring and wore down Knicks playing back to back game in second half last night. Rookie Halliburton 16 off bench, good sign. Always liked Iowa St guys—in Jenkins column on GS centers there was a pic of “Big Vic” Alexander.

yeah, Gobert is going to be tough for Wiseman for sure.

Racing at SA, interested to see if weather affects track today. Rispoli won twice yesterday to climb into second in jockey standings behind Juan Hernandez and is now ahead of Joel Rosario and Flavien Pratt. Rispoli also has highest win pct. Abel Cedillo rode 3 winners yesterday.
Big one at Gulfstream $3 mil Grade 1 Pegasus. Mix them in with college b-ball and some music, good day to be inside and safe.

i’m not sure what the weather is down there today but race tracks drain very well–especially those in the middle of the country and back east. They can start out sloppy or muddy and be fast and firm within an hour if the rain has stopped. Turf courses get wet and west coast tracks seem to take those races off the turf much quicker than they do back east. Not sure why that is.

Thanks. Supposed to be periods of rain today down there.

His baseball career really fizzled. He seemed like a sure future star when he arrived.
Hitting a baseball is a difficult thing.

“It’s a round ball and a round bat and ya gotta hit it square”…

i was STEADFAST in my take on him: that he was overrated. That he was a look at me guy who was never going to try to take the time to learn how to hit a breaking ball. And he isn’t good enough to be the terrible teammate that he is. He’s got a great arm. Big deal. This guy is fucking lame

Well, ya gotta admit, he’s no hologram…

I wonder if a lot of old timers developed skin cancer.
There was no sun block in those days…

Clemente and Aaron were notorious for hitting off their front foot.
So much for the hitting manual…

If I was a general manager this is how I would write contracts too. They’re giving this guy bonuses for plate appearances because he’s always injured but then they also throw in all-star game bonuses and world series MVP bonuses That’s awesome players have to love that kind of stuff in their contract

Ha Stanford wins it at buzzer. down 1 with .8 seconds left they score with layup off inbound and beat Bruins by a point.

Ha indeed, nice play to free up the guy for the easy layup. Looked like close to goaltending on the previous play.

just watched Rocky 2 again. And besides the ending of Hoosiers that is the best ending of any sports movie of all time and there’s really no close runner up (for second)

The NBA needs help. I love that quote from Steve Nash about Trae Young’s tactics in the key trying to get fouls. “This isn’t basketball.”
I doubt very many former players watch NBA games these days. Nash wouldn’t be watching today’s NBA if he didn’t have a job coaching in it.
