So far, only me, Diggity, MacDog, Chi and UncaChuck are scheduled to battle in the NFLBBB3. GH, SportsDude and Loo seem to have abandoned the fun.

Entries accepted up till Noon PST.

Really excited for these games today. And let’s see it SNOW in GB, the more the better……

I’ve got 21 teams at draftkings, if any of you play there and want to go heads up for high score email me (this is mostly a call out to WilcoJoe, I don’t think any other Flappers play at DK)

Flav, what you said about ryan Zimmerman contract is what SF did with Alex Wood. He gets extra $$ depending on how many games where he gets 10 outs. Not a bad idea at all, though like in Zim’s case the incentives vesting depend on manager too.

Puig talk on MLBTR, centered around Marlins and couple other teams. He was signed by Braves last season, right, before testing positive for virus? Probably has to adjust $$ demand downward, as apparently other teams were in on him last year but he held out for $$$.

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 8:37 am

hey, I would take Puig if it was for the min salary. He’s got a great arm and he’s got moderate RH pop that is better than, say, Slater. I would not support him taking Grave Duggar’s spot tho.

      • alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 8:56 am

Seriously you would keep GraveDuggar over Puig?
Even at a minimum contract( which the Giants are king of the cheapwads) he is way better the player..

      • alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 9:00 am

If it’s just about the jersey, how about “Bay of Puigs” it’s kind of catchy..

      • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 10:02 am

I love the grave duggar. Yeah most of it is the nickname and the jersey I wear all over Palo Alto. But my man has some skills he just needs some playing time to showcase them

      • alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 10:43 am

Fair enough! That jersey is rad..

  2. willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 8:14 am

Gonna be cold in KC too, though report i just read said snow not til tonight/tomorrow. Players from KC and Buffalo have be used to it by now. One of my former supervisors is from Buffalo. Talked about getting snowed in there, where everyone was stuck inside for few days til it could get cleared off. yikes (sez Cali guy who was enjoying 70 degree weather a week ago)

An under the radar signing: Dominican Republic. Coached by Fernando Tatis Sr. Lowball contract at a measly ten grand. Javier Francisco, a late-teens shortstop. Upper middle-class family. Foghornies article today on him. Diligent, hard-working kid. Will get his professional debut this spring and quite possibly in the States.

We can dream, can’t we? For total Impact, should he be a success in ascending the ladder of the SF pipeline and look to become a ranking prospect; I think that at that stage the kid should officially change his first name…to Sam. With the surname he was born with,”Sam” would become a media sensation—particularly if he achieves star status.

OR, he could change the front name to that of a former, talented Giants outfielder who had his front-name as a back name: Stan Javier. Yeah, Stan Francisco. I like that one.

    • willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 10:10 am

Ha good find Stix. Tatis family from San Pedro de Macoris, once known as land of the SS.
Man do Giants ever need one…what happens 2022 after Crawford contract runs out?

    • Winder said, on January 24, 2021 at 1:29 pm

I love it when we sign guys from the DR. We are bound to hit on one or two sooner or later. The love of baseball goes a long way.

  5. mrsprtdude said, on January 24, 2021 at 10:47 am

I’m in. Just forgot to send the email:)

  6. alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 10:48 am

Maybe they give that kid Will Wilson( he’s 22)a look at SS?

  7. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 11:32 am

OK, contest is closed. Picks are in main thread. If you think I got something wrong let me know. Six players playing for $120 (technically $100 since you can’t count the $20 you put in. Whatever, there’s $120 in the pool)

  8. Carstie Clausen said, on January 24, 2021 at 1:04 pm

Top billing on MLBTRs this afternoon is that the Giants may actually be serious about a LH hitting outfielder, now apparently limited to a choice between Archie Bradly Jr. an excellent CF defender but rather so-so as a hitter—and Eddie Rosario, whom the Twins non tendered, despite a decent enough season at the plate, but useable only as another LHB left-fielder.

Living in Minnesota, I had the chance to video-observe Rosario at the plate. He has good power, but not a whole bunch of plate-discipline as he tends to strike out a bunch. OBP of around .310, but his SP is decent and his defense is adequate for LF, probably close to MLB average at that position. Some speed added to the blend.

Bradley, who likely lives by his legs is 30 and thus, no more than mayyybe a 2 year pickup, is an excellent center-fielder. Good reads. Decent arm. His ’17-’19 stats at the plate were mediocre at best, though approaching decent in 2020.

My choice: Very slightly leaning towards Rosario as he’s younger and would likely slot in well to the #6 or the 7-hole due to his low OBP but consistently a threat at the plate vs. RH pitching. Of course, LFers are a dime a carload and Rosario would be pricier. So it all seems to come down to fielding vs. hitting and whether Heliot Ramos is ready to make the jump by mid-season,

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 1:36 pm

i don’t want either of those guys. Both left handed, we need RH pop.

      • Carstie Clausen said, on January 24, 2021 at 1:51 pm

Not my decision. For sure. This comes from MLBTR, with a bit of my analysis of their take.

    • djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 2:01 pm

      Willie prefers Joel Rosario.
Couldn’t be worse than this guy…

      • willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 2:40 pm

he won the big one at Gulfstream yesterday, right?

  9. alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 1:38 pm

Staring at a 57 yard FG in cold weather with no chance of making it with 8 seconds left and yet GB’s defense?let a guy get behind him,?incredibly stupid giving up a bomb by Brady to Miller..
This stupid shit happens way to much to football teams, you have to play zone defense there..

  10. djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 2:09 pm

I doubt Snoop Dogg is selling much beer for Corona with his idiot commercial.
SanDog or MacDog would have been far better choices.
    Seriously!

    • willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 2:42 pm

San Dog for Modelo is a natural!

  11. willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 2:23 pm

TB D lineman Vita Vea is local guy Milpitas HS who left bay area to play at Washington.
Speaking of locals, Eric Byrnes shows up in Chron column, as HS linebacker for St. Francis who sacked Brady 3 times in one game and talked some shit. “Don’t worry dude. It’s not your fault. It’s tough to throw the football from your back.”

  12. djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:01 pm

FG decision will be big time second guessed…

  13. Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:02 pm

Looking good for the TB picks.

  14. willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:03 pm

Looked like Rodgers had room to run too. Even if he gets stopped would have been really close to goal line

    • gianthead said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:16 pm

Completely agree and he dives from a couple yards out and maybe stretches for close to goal line..

  15. djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:03 pm

    And some more stupidity…

  16. Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:12 pm

“Hello, Jake from State Farm? Is that tee time for next weekend still open?”

  17. zumiee said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:13 pm

He grabs the guy’s jersey. lulz

  18. gianthead said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:14 pm

This is why I stayed away. Would have taken the Packers and why the fuck do they settle for a FG there??? Idiot. Had to have a td!!!

    • djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:17 pm

Don’t expect Rodgers to keep quiet about that one…

  19. Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:21 pm

Bucs will play in the Super Bowl at their own stadium.

  20. willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:26 pm

what was opening season line on Brady and Bucs to be in SB?

  21. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:31 pm

getting to his 10th SB. Wow, gotta hand it to him. And to take this team there as a 43 year old, what an incredible accomplishment……

  22. djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:35 pm

Romo already at 2 “unbelievables” and the game hasn’t even started…

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:37 pm

i liked when he would call out the plays before they happened, I wish the network hadn’t told him to stop doing that.

  23. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:36 pm

and if Brady manages to WIN the SB at age 43 in his first year with this team, that’s gotta be the greatest accomplishment in sports history, right? Or is that overstating it?

    • djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:38 pm

Up there with Foreman winning title at 45…

      • alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:00 pm

Yeah are maybe Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson in the 10th round..

    • xoot said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:52 pm

Satchel Paige mlb rookie at 42 or something like that.

  24. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 3:38 pm

me and SportsDude only ones to get the TB call right?

  25. Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:00 pm

Damn, I should’ve taken Allen for most rushing yards.

  26. alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:03 pm

Well there’s a major fuckup by the Chiefs on “The MUFFED PUNT”
Now a TD to to the TE Knox!!

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:04 pm

“muffed punt” I fucking love that term. Someone check on Loo I’m guessing that muffed punt didn’t go over to well at his place

  27. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:38 pm

Fuck. I’m done already. Singletary could save me. Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.

Well, Rodgers is looking good for my QB.

  28. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:41 pm

Brady threw 3 fucking picks. They won despite him. TB’s defense won this game. And stupid game decisions by Green Bay. Why aren’t the safeties 20 yards back on the play at the end of the half. Man, who gives a fuck if you give up a 7 yard swing pass that might lead to a 50 yard FG? ? You defend that instead of the home run?

    How fucking stupid is that.

    • unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:43 pm

Plus the drop in the end zone. There has been a lot of drops these playoff games.

  29. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:42 pm

Allen looks like shit so far.

  30. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:48 pm

As far as Brady goes, I am impressed he got them there. Different system, different coach. 43. Yadda yadda yadda.

  31. willedav said, on January 24, 2021 at 4:59 pm

No one is more explosive than Mahomes and KC. concussion or not he’s got them rolling again.

  32. alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 5:20 pm

Man U have to for the TD there, it’s still a 2 score possession!
Just like when the Packers took the stupid FG instead of going for it.(And now Rodgers has to settle for the Brady rate) There’s no tomorrow in these games show some cojones!

    • unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 5:40 pm

Man, missing those extra points has been costly today.

  33. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 5:43 pm

Buff’s defense needs to stop playing so soft on 1st – 2nd downs. 8 yards a pay on 1st down.

  34. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 5:46 pm

Flat awesome. Never seen this before.

    • zumiee said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:03 pm

TF didn’t like Harry. On the Flap, TF once said that Harry “talked like he had a mouth full of turds.” Man, that stuck in my memory somehow.

      • alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:11 pm

“Mouth full of Turds” LMAO 😆 💩💩💩💩💩🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

      • djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:35 pm

You always knew where you stood with Twinner…

  35. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 5:54 pm

where did this white, no tattoo linebacker come from for KC who flies all over the place?

    • unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:07 pm

Niemann? He went to Iowa with Kittle.

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:23 pm

no. Sorenson or something like that

      • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:24 pm

he might be a safety not a LB

  36. alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Field Goals are not going to cut it for Buffalo 🦬
Still a 2 score lead… You know Reid goes for it but McDermott? Just happy to be philosophy..

  37. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:02 pm

TD here and this game is over. 4th and 2 and Buff wimps out? A lot of bad coaching decisions in these 2 games today,

  38. Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:32 pm

Chi gets the total points prop.

  39. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:36 pm

Wow. Allen having an off night. Pfffffffft.

  40. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:41 pm

i think Chi is going to win this. He has 6 points and the tie breaker of nailing closest to the total.

  41. xoot said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:42 pm

    And the chop.

  42. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:45 pm

Buff still making dumb decisions, but they get the OSK. 2 points does them the same as 1 and they don’t do it. Instead of being down 16 they are down 17. Fucking unreal call there. They score here they could be down 1 score with 3+ miniutes.

    • Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:49 pm

It really is mind-blowing how these stupid coaches don’t know basic math.

  43. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:48 pm

Well, there you go. 3rd and 52. Lol!!

  44. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:54 pm

And they kick the FG because they didn’t kick the extra point. These Buff coaches are idiots.

  45. xoot said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:55 pm

That penalty explanation from the ref was like something from a good b/w cartoon in the fifties. Totally absurd.

  46. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:56 pm

with that FG MrSPortsDude loses the 2 points for the FG points so I think that means Chi wins outright with 6 points. Will do it again later but that’s what it looks like to me!

    • Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:58 pm

      Don’t you have 8 points?

      • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:01 pm

huh? I got both the games right but that’s it. 4 points

      • Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:01 pm

        What about Jones and Kelce?

      • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:04 pm

jones only had 27 yards rushing and Kelce was second in recieving yardage to Hill

      • Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:06 pm

Ha, I thought it was out of the players we picked. So I guess no one wins the RB and WR props.

      • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:07 pm

no it was nailing the actual winners of those 3 categories not just between us

    • alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:00 pm

Hmmm would be some major redemption for Chi if so after losing all 4 games last week?

  47. alleykat69 said, on January 24, 2021 at 6:57 pm

Any kind of math says take another stupid FG instead of 4th and 28.
Bass only good for 1 onside kick a game I assume lol!
    Game is getting ugly now!!

  48. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:05 pm

I did score 2 points with Rodgers, so there’s that. Ouch.

  49. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:06 pm

Allen was the rushing winner, Rodgers the passing leader and Hill the receiving leader. Nobody hit the FG and MSD hit the punt #.

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:07 pm

actually Rodgers was the passing leader. Shit I got to go do this again but I still think Chi wins with the tie breaker

    • unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:09 pm

See my 7:05. Rodgers threw for the most yards.

    • unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:09 pm

      Nevermind

  50. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:08 pm

Leading rusher Josh Allen. Mac, you deserve the win with that call.

Chi with the comeback BBB of the year?

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:09 pm

mac didn’t guess Allen as the rushing leader he guessed Aaron jones

    • Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:11 pm

Ha, I was lamenting not taking Allen. And Hill as the WR for that matter.

  51. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:10 pm

yo i hope this was clear enough for everyone. This is how I wrote out the rules:
Correctly identify the RB with the most rushing yards on the weekend: 2 points

Correctly identify the QB with the most passing yards on the weekend: 2 points

Correctly identify the player with the most receiving yards on the weekend: 2 points

Nobody got any of that right except Unca Chuck and MSD who got Rodgers

  52. unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:11 pm

Fuck. Nevermind. Again. I thought Mac had Allen as the leading rusher.

  53. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:11 pm

so if I am doing this right, me, MSD and Chi got 4 points each but Chi wins the tie breaker because he got the total points category

  54. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:12 pm

so MSD would have won if Buff hadn’t kicked that final field goal. Ouch

  55. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:15 pm

WAIT! MSD did win, he also nailed the correct number of punts. That’s 6 points

  56. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:15 pm

I’ll check all this again later but as of right now MSD got 6 points and me and Chi got 4 points. MSD wins it outright with 6 points unless I did the math wrong on this.

  57. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:17 pm

nailing the correct number of punts cold is pretty sick. And he had the correct # of FGs too until that final 51 yarder.

  58. djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:19 pm

  59. Macdog said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:21 pm

    The final prop winners:

    Bucs (Flav, SportsDude).
    Chiefs (Flav, Chi, me).
    Total points: 119 (Chi).
    Rushing leader: Allen (no one).
    Passing leader: Rodgers (SportsDude, Unca).
    Receiving leader: Hill (no one).
    Field goals: 8 (no one).
    Punts: 9 (SportsDude).

    • Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:26 pm

thanks for doing that. OK then Mr Sports Dude wins with 6 points! Sorry Chi for calling you the early winner. Now you know how Trump felt. 🙂

      • djloo27 said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:45 pm

        And Dewey…

      • unca_chuck said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:47 pm

        And Cheatham.

        dch

  60. Flavor said, on January 24, 2021 at 7:33 pm

So there was a lot of drama there in the end. I incorrectly had Mahomes as the winner of the most passing yards and then I forgot to check on the punt total. In the end, after all the votes were counted, Mr. Sports Dude emerged victorious. He can tell us his pay pal addy when he checks back in

  61. mrsprtdude said, on January 24, 2021 at 9:53 pm

Crazy. I wasn’t checking in because i was so annoyed at the chiefs game. i have a odd hatred for t Hill and he kept getting these extra yards and it was PTSD from last years SB. Happy to accept the cash:)

To be honest i have sent money via paypay but never received any. mwrymer@gmail.com is the email. Hope it works, and thanks!

    • djloo27 said, on January 25, 2021 at 4:07 am

      Congrats, Sports Dude!
