Another Guy
The question I have, who will have greater historical significance in the pantheon of Giants lore, Zack Littell or Greg Litton? I’m going with the former.
Of course, Krueg’s disagrees. But this is his type of guy, someone nobody’s ever heard of who’s had the slightest bit of success at some point in his pro career.
Larry Krueger@sportslarryknbr·Breaking! #sfgiants are signing RHP Zack Littell @z_littell . Great get for Farhan Zaidi. Littell was a quality arm for #Twins on 2019.10961
Flavor@1flapdown77·If this gets you excited what would an actual exciting signing do to you?
Larry Krueger@sportslarryknbrReplying to @1flapdown77 and @z_littellLittell throws 96 mph w/a 90 hard cutter and had a 2,68 ERA in 29 games in 2019. Farhan makes a lot of moves on the margins. Look for this guy to emerge as a big factor this season
Apparently, Z’s got a fondness for guys like this, too.
I don’t have a problem with the Littell signing I’m just not gonna jizz in my pants like Krueg’s over it.
End cap on Brebbia aisle, next to impulse buy chocolate strategically placed near checkout.
you can walk down the Brebbia aisle but you can never leave.
he and I stand together on this.
Didn’t he own Run Happy?
Saw something from SNY about Bauer. going back a week supposedly Mets did make him an offer, though not in range of biggest AAV ever, above the $35 mil per that Gerrit Cole got. which is what Bauer is supposed to be seeking. 2 weeks til ST–other than Dodgers (yuck) or Mets, doesn’t appear anyone else is even in market.
So what is next move by Ms. Luba and Bauer? Would he wait it out til some team came calling with an offer he couldn’t refuse?
Guy with bread he’s gonna lose in briefcase reminds me of Raider fan at work we used to make fun of in 90s. Every July he told rest of us, “I’m going to Reno, this is our year.” um, no man, it’s not. I offered to take his money and hide it for him til season is over instead of flushing down toilet.
This was also during time Marty Schott absolutely owned Silver/Black. He beat them about dozen times in row with Chiefs. Heard he has stabilized somewhat in hospice care. Much respect for him as coach.
Hope Larry K is right. But I can’t get too excited abut a player not even listed in Shandler’s baseball forecast
That guy is a baller to go with 3.5 mil, same # as the point spread. diggity you wanna be a baller like that guy and just bet $35?
actually to be exact we should bet $34.60
BRING IT ON
That’s what Melatonin paid when he upset Effinex in the 2016 Big ‘Cap.
I knew it sounded familiar…
looking at roto fantasy column of top 150 SPs on fangraphs, #28 is …Zach Wheeler, who signed $118 mil/5 yr deal with Phils a year ago. Drafted #6 overall by Giants, traded for Beltran and cash late July 2011.
Thoughts?
Neukom’s folly.
I still think the Beltran trade was worth the shot, just didn’t know we needed to bang on trash cans for him to help us.
Since we traded Zach back in 2011, he has only pitched in 137 ML games and has a total of 48 wins. I’m good not having those 48 wins over 9 years.
Wheeler could’ve bought more than a high priced short term rental, I bet.
Maybe, or left as a FA. Either way, I doubt Zaidi would have resigned him so he still wouldn’t be a Giant this year.
He was a minor league phenom in 2011. Lots of possibilities. Adding Beltran helped get Nuke fired. But it had to be Sabeans idea. Remember when sir Sidney ponson was going to carry the Giants to back to back WSs? I guess these things happen.
mm yeah I think both of you are right. Beltran hit well eventually just not well enough to get Giants over hump, then left town. Wheeler has had injury filled up and down career; I just hadn’t thought of him much til I saw the f/g column. Lot to live up to in Philly with that deal.
I do remember Twin not being Beltran fan. He got off to slow start after Giants got him, before heating up eventually. Lot of back and forth over whether giants wanted him back or not and he um ultimately made some history for himself elsewhere.
2011 was messed up year on lot of fronts. Even years worked out better than 2011, and then 2013 when they only won 76 before 3 straight of 88 85 84.
Losing Buster in May was key. Considering how he came back in 2012, it’s tempting to imagine how great he could’ve been if that asswipe had simply slid around him when he struggled to handle the throw from Nate that skipped oddly on the damp grass.
When I checked fangraphs last night, I saw littell’s fb listed at 94 (or below in some years). Maybe he hits 96 on a good day on occasion?
Krueger is FOS most of the time.
Maybe the Giants are hoping Zack Littell has a similar career as Royals/Cardinal
Mark Littell had who was a pretty good reliever for both teams in the 70’s-80’s saving 56 games till his elbow blew out at age 29.I do remember one of his lowlights though, while pitching for the Royals giving up the walkoff HR to Chris Chambliss in 1979 sending the Yankees to the W/S!
Any of you guys remember him besides me? Loo,Willied others?
I can’t even remember half of the 79 Giants.
barely Kat. He preceded Quiz in KC then at end of career Sutter took over in STL. Odd that he played for Herzog in both places. did get WS ring with Cards in 82. Just never cared for either of the two teams he was on at the time.
other than ET McGee who wound up here after awhile in 90s.
ET goes home.
It was 1976. I wrote the other day that the just deceased Grant Jackson had given up the game tying homer to Brett before Chambliss won it…
Do you ignore my stellar insights?
ET McGee that’s Gold!
A perfect 👌 facial recognition Willied!
I remember Mark Littell and thought of him when I heard of this awesome move by Z-Man
He’s the Ralph Branca of Kansas City…
Marty Schottenheimer in hospice bums me out. Helluva coach, who was great for the Chiefs using an array of castoff Niner QB’s.
Talked to him once at the McDonald’s at the airport down here while coaching the Chargers. He was reading Golf Digest eating a McDonald’s breakie plate, which I thought was all kinds of awesome.
Went 13-3 with Sonny Bono at QB…
Was that the season they lost to the Colts on a bitter-cold day in KC?
I don’t know about KC, but there was about 3 feet of snow on the ground in Brooklyn that day.
Lin Fuckin’ Elliot could probably answer your question, Mac…
That was early ’96 when we got hit with the big snowstorm, so yes, that was the Colts game.
We signed Tommy La Stella. Question – Why doesn’t this guy have many at bats (each season)? I don’t know too much about him, other then OBP is good. Is he injury prone? Even in All Star year (2019) – only 80 games???
Dave Grohl on the drums. Really like some of their stuff. Really dislike some of their stuff.
The deer is an excellent driver…
I mean, shit, John Paul Jones on bass? Crazy. His piano outro is fantastic.
Broken tibia in early July 2019.
Bah bye Basabe,
Bah! is right.
Beltran got hurt right after we signed him, and didn’t hit for a month after that. By the time he caught fire, we were toast.
The fastball numbers on FG are averages. So, Syndergaard who often gets to 98-100 mph is listed at 97, Clevenger at 95 etc. Krueger was apparently citing a scout, who said Littell throws “up to 96.” So, based on the last 2 years, he should throw a fair % of his fastballs at 95-96. Presumably the cutter is what might set him apart. At least he’s not in his 30s.
Looks like fifty percent of his mlb pitches have been four seamers at an average of 94. Maybe I’m not digging deeply enough. But four seamers at 94 dont encourage me. I don’t like beede, either, even with a functioning elbow.
97 is definitely a more invigorating number.
They leave the yard fast!
5 HR’s in 31 AB’s hope he has a secondary pitch like a decent slider..
Bauer to the Mets. That’s a good spot for him.
Fake news on Bauer by Nightengale, no signing yet!
Still go to the Mets please over the Dodgers!
Ms Luba Lhao on tweeter.
Apparently ut of the loop. How i don’t know. What is the matter with belt that he might not be ready for opening day?
Heel surgery this offseason.
Heel? Achilles? Foot owie? I forget.
oh baby HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!
wait…..who?
2% of his abs (or pas for that matter) = HRs. .2 career WAR. That’s the lh of bat they’ve been looking for.
Grave Duggar is gonna eat this guy’s lunch and then puke it down his throat.
Nah they’ll be Sacto buddies.
Apparently wade in the shallows has one option year remaining. Lease a good car kid. You’ll be driving a lot this year.
If your ticket is pure irony you will certainly love that blockbuster trade with a 5.17 ERA starter-longan with a hyper-exciting 17.8 K vs 10.1BB record for a 26 Y.O. who hit for decent average in the LOWER minors while causing onlookers to faint from eyes googling-out every time he manages every month or two to hit a H.R.
Nothing like a career.211 hitter to get the juices flowing..
I know a HOFer who hit .211 in 1973…
Mays?
Saw him at Shea in 1973. My one and only venture to that park.
What were you doing here?
Maybe we bumped into each other!
Oubre rolling tonight. Dallas looks like they studied at Nets school of defense.
Ha, no D in Big D.
With a little luck he might make me forget Steve Hosey…
Steve Hosey! Kudos . . .
Oubre didn’t lose the game on Tuesday. We had no centers when Looney went down, and gave up 12 O-rebs in the 2nd half.
That being said, this may be Oubre’s only 30point game oif the year, but he’s an aboive average defender and can score in the paint. I wish he and Wiggins would attack the rim more often. Same with Draymond. He so rarely takes the layup .
Course, Oubre makes a stooooooopid play with 0.6 seconds left.
Looks like I picked the right time to turn on the game.
Good for Bummie! Fuck AZ!
Madison Bumgarner LHP

I don’t know why, but I have this feeling that Wade’s biggest contribution will be to make room on the 40 man for someone else.
Wade will probably drown…
That cracked me up.
That’s as highbrow as I ever get, Bozo…
127-103 with over 6 minutes left.
The #SFGIANTS suck…
we do. We aren’t doing shit with this Brebbia aisle bullshit. It’s hilarious. Whatever, this was a burn year anyway. If they try to pull this shit NEXT off season tho, I will be pissed. And it’s time for one or more of these prospects to actually fucking do something……
Hoping they can rest Dray and Steph and close this out.
Chuck what are you talking about? Oubre singlehandedly fueled the Celtics run. 1/2 free throws, blew the dunk, missed layup and multiple missed open 3s. How can you ignore all that and defend him in that game??????????
He had a bad game. They gave up 25 second chance points in the 2nd half.
Luciano, Helios, and Bishop ain’t gonna be here till September. Shit they don’t even want Bart up here.
This is the last hurrah of the bore core. This is what we thought it is.
Heliot is invited to ST, for a change
It’s 2021.
Sensitivity Training?
For the sun god? No. There’s more day to dawn.
Is it common knowledge here that Yasiel is also one of Rachel baby’s clients?
So package him to Nueva York with Bauer for league min. Coupled entry #1 and #1a hole.
Yes. I’ve never seen her tweet about him.
Macdog said, on December 30, 2020 at 10:56 am
She’s also the agent for Yasiel Puig.
Should I be ashamed to say that I have no idea what Brebbia is…?….
https://www.mlb.com/news/john-brebbia-leaves-cardinals-signs-with-giants
Oh, thanks John. I actually didn’t think Brebbia was a person…..
He’s more than a person.
He’s a lifestyle…
He’s our #3 starter.
Haha, wouldn’t be surprised…
If they ever decide to strip Marjorie Taylor Greene, I’d watch…
She apologized today for being allowed to believe things that aren’t true. There’s some serious S/M potential there.
Of course, I also didn’t know what (or who) Tsoomgis was/is ….

8, 16, 42, owner and HC are pretty easy. Even for someone who doesn’t give a shit about numbers, etc.
and a so-so WR.
Most of you guys should get 10 right anyway…
12 out of 14. Missed Leo the Lion and
Bob St Clair.
Oh yeah. 80
#8 Young ,#12 Brodie #16 Montana,#34 Perry #37 Johnson #39 McElheny
#42 Lott,#70 Krueger#73 Nomellini ?#80 Rice #87 Clark owner Eddie D,Coach Bill Walsh
Missing a few I think 🤔
#79 Bob St Clair. I woulda guessed on Nomellini’ s, Perry’s, and St Clair’s numbers.
And I met the guy at Harry’s Hof Brau.
Twin’s old business partner.
I still can’t understand why the 49ers have never retired #64 Linebacker Dave Wilcox?
The dude is in the football HOF ferchrissakes!!
Huh. No shit. loved him as a kid. Hum, Charlie Krueger, Skip Vanderbundt, Jimmy Johnson, they had a bad ass defense.
