Melatonin Back In California
Somehow missed the Padres signed Mark Melancon. Also somehow missed that he really wasn’t that bad for the Braves. Will be interested to see if he can keep it going. He’s 35 now and somwhere inside of him still resides the MelonHead we loved to loath. Anyway, happy Sunday, we needed a new thread……..
Pitchers and catchers report on Friday. Meanwhile, Fog-horners contend that SF still needs some more rotation depth. Ya think? Some of the names they threw out as possible minor league signees may offer slender rays of hope. Some of the others are hung with horrible ERAs and other stats which make them nothing more than innings eaters. Yuck!
The best thing about Valentine’s Day is being able to ignore it…
From one of your former kickers:
Kicked your team to the SB at Lambeau, correct? (per Bob Papa?)
Yes, Loo, in OT after he blew two FGs in the 4th quarter, including one at the end of regulation.
Ah, it’s how they are gonna roll this season. almost everyone agrees rotation is weakness. Couple guys might work out, and there is always Beede regaining strength. Maybe couple of prospects come up later. See if any of the current off season signees are good enough to keep around 2022.
Watching Santa Anita yesterday, Curry odds on favorite in second race ridden by Jess Pyfer, took early lead and then lost in stretch to I Will Not with Mario Gutierrez aboard, Wasn’t good night for Steph either.
Umberto Rispoli won 9th and took over jockey lead from Juan Hernandez, followed closely by Flavien Prat and Abel Cedillo who had 2 winners Saturday. Joel Rosario is right there but only had couple mounts, getting 3rd in close 200K feature 8th race. Today he is back on half dozen horses. Should be fun day of racing.
i’m playing the late pick 4 today so I’ll be rooting along with you today (although I don’t think you actually root do you? Don’t you just enjoy watching them run around?
I’m in today.
Your picks are always appreciated.
My financial advice: If you can’t bet it drink it (and vice-versa)…
Watching golf at pebble. Such an amazing place. These PGA guys are pretty good:)
Yes a slice of heaven is Pebble Beach Mrsprtdude! Iโm watching the golf also!
Been down there as a spectator many times, I really like the 8th hole as a fan watching the second shot going over the ocean ๐ coming right at you itโs fantastic.Nicklaus has been quoted to say itโs his favorite 2nd shot ever in golf..
Mmm not gambling,no. Ms Britney looking good today too. Rosario won first race, tightening jockey race. Man all that snow at Aqueduct is a trip.
enjoy listening to Simon Bray and Christina Blacker too; they are often spot on. first race at GGF, the #1 horse broke through starting gate and dislodged jockey, settled down and was reloaded and then came from off pace to win the race. Good luck Flav!
I’ll probably die shoveling…
No way I take 3-5 on the 8…
What a finish at pebble! Brilliant!
Played it once with my dad. Great memories. My son just started playing so i hope to play it again with him one day.
Think Pebble is up to $575 a round now!
Heavy dent into the CC, but hell if you break it down itโs $32 dollars a hole if that helps Mrsprtdude..
wow Christina Blacker had #3 in feature at 8-1, fun race
He was so beyond brilliant.
If I ever find out that Flavor & SanDog wear plaid knickers, I’m getting Dodger season tix in the Roooster box…
On second thought, I might join them…
i dress like a man when i golf, not like some wannabe extra on an episode of the bachelorette.
“Like watching flies fuck….if we’re gonna recycle let’s get serious.” Classic one-liner hits winnowed out of a pile of them. Carlin had this way of mixing vinegar with farts in church. High Larry Us.
Chalk so beatable in the 8th…
Now it’s the A’s sniffing Giants used jockstraps. Not just one, but they rolled a pair of dice: Sergio Romo and Use More of Petit. Mad scramble lately to nail down depth signings for a bunch of teams. Will SF dip the toes again? Guardado is pretty guarded about any more–major inkings anyway–by los Gigantes,
Petit had already has about 200 IP in the books for Oakland. He got blown up a bit last PS.
sorry Loo, wasn’t around today and didn’t see you wanted my picks. Good thing for you, I didn’t hit the pick 4.
Never mind that. Just another race card out of 10 trillion that I’ve seen.
Have you started the new system with Carson?
his sensor stopped working 10 days ago. They only last 14 days. I got tired of taking him to the vet to put one on every two weeks because 1) it’s expensive, about $100 with the sensor purchase and the vet cost to put it on and 2) he doesn’t want to go to the vet. I think we put about 6 sensors on him.
So, he and me been flying solo balls out for going on two weeks now. I hate not knowing his exact blood glucose level at any minute of the day, lol. But, I think I had gotten kind of addicted to the sensor so this has been a good thing to get away from and just live a little more normal life. And he loves not having that fucking thing on him anymore. Funny story, the day the last sensor was gonna die at 2pm I came home a little early from work to get a last final reading because I’m obsessive about everything. I’m doing shit, putting stuff away, and he comes into the kitchen where I was and he has the sensor in his mouth and he spits it out on the floor and walks away. It was incredible it was like he knew it was about to die and he was like “can we fucking stop doing this please?” He’d never fucked with the sensor before but an hour before it was going to die he ripped it off with his teeth, no small task considering where it was located on his back. I lol’d and just said “fuck it, let’s just be cool with this and find another way now.” So, that’s what I’m doing……
Nowadays, I just make sure he isn’t drinking or peeing alot and I give him a little less insulin than he was getting before because I fear hypoglycemia. I hate not knowing exact GL’s but whatever, so far so good.
I bought the strips you suggested but they aren’t arriving till Feb 26 for some reason, I think they are coming from UK and that’s why. There’s a chance I’ll buy the alpha tracker thing where I prick his ear but I really don’t want to fuck with his body any more than I do now. Two shots a day is enough. Pricking his ear? Fuck it.
Looking forward to the pee strips! But they won’t be here for a while.
That’s ok he’s sleeping peacefully next to me as I type this. He’s fine. My hope is that he can make it at least 6 months—3 years before we have to put him down.
I’ll overnight you a bunch tomorrow, ok?
lol, if you want to send a few I’d take em because I do want to start tracking it that way but it’s not critical, he seems fine right now. Honestly he’s probably always been fine. Knowing exact glucose levels is not always a good thing I probably overreacted a few times jamming sugar into his gums when I thought he was too low. Like I said, when i do something whether it’s work, parenting, blogging, motherfucking diabetic cat management, it’s always all in and sometimes that’s too much. I need to chill, about a lot of things.
So, yeah, I’d love to try out the strips but if there’s snow on your driveway shovel that instead. That’s more important.
I’m done shoveling for now.
It’s one of my jobs.
Like a 10 year old…
ok sweet. Then send me a few strips. That would be rad.
I’ll send you a couple dozen with the bottle and instructions.
Just e-mail me your address which I keep losing…
you are the best and greatest man I know.
It’s really no trouble…
nobody does shit like you do.
