A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Draft Day

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 29, 2021

Just put me out of my misery already and gimmie that doughy fuck. I finally realized my #1 issue with all of this: Kyle is the supposed QG guru. He doesn’t like Jimmy anymore. That’s fine, neither do I. The moment he wildly overthrew Sanders in the Super Bowl I knew he wasn’t special. And it was downhill for him from there.

Ok so you want a new QB to sculpt the way you want? There are FIVE of them, 6 if you count Mills who many people (not me) think has big time potential.

So go draft one of them at 12. Goddamn, it’s very likely Jones would have been there at 12. If not, DRAFT ANOTHER ONE. Of those 6 there is GUARANTEED to be one to choose at 12. Why does it HAVE to be Jones? Like you couldn’t do what you want with any other QB? It has to be Jones?

I’d expect more from a supposed *guru*.

Anyway, the Giants won again and Alex Wood is going to make a bajillion dollars on his next contract…..

And with the 3rd pick in this year’s NFL draft, the San Francisco Forty Niners select…

I’ll be good with whomever they draft and will reserve judgement after I see the pick play for a year or so.

    • willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:49 am

      Amen to that.

  2. willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:53 am

Irish and Scottish noir writers use a great expression by a character given advice or orders he has no intention of following. As to the idea Niners fans should be feel doomed Shanahan will screw this up, I’d say same.
    “Will I fuck.”

  3. Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:26 am

At this point, sure, we kinda have to be cool with who they draft. None of us know what’s going to happen with any of these guys. But to be cool with it means you don’t care about the massive draft capital wasted to get a guy who, frankly, could have probably been gotten where they sat in the first place.

  4. Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:26 am

Well, we won’t know if he screwed it up for a few years probably, so we’ll see what he comes up with. I think it’s going to be Jones, but I’d like to see them take Justin Fields, even though I’m concerned about that loopy hitch in his delivery. Lance is intriguing, but the level of competition he played against and his relative lack of experience makes him iffy, IMO. Still, one hell of a specimen, like Fields. No guarantees any of the 5 will pan out. Just the nature of the business.

  5. Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:27 am

I’m still hoping they don’t trade Jimmy and thank God he has a no trade clause. He can start until he gets hurt, whoever we draft can learn from the sidelines till then

    • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:36 am

Barring a draft day trade, my guess is Shanahan will stick with his plan to keep and start JG while bringing the rookie along slowly, without the pressure of being thrown to the wolves, which rarely works out. He’ll have a ton to learn. JG should be well-motivated to perform at a high level this year, and mostly just to stay on the damn field. If he can replicate his season from the Super Bowl year, the Niners will be tough.

      • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:51 am

if it unfolds that way that will lessen the blow a little for me. I am still pissed off with how much we gave up and this year we DO have a chance to win it all. I don’t want Mac Fatty out there learning on the fly in a year we have a shot to win another SB

      • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:54 am

Yeah, they gave up a ton. Three first round picks. Holy smokes. That’s why I think this could be a make-or-break pick for Shanahan. If the rookie ends up tanking, that would not be good.

      • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:56 am

sure, it’s not good for him and he’ll get fired. But we are left with the ruins of a franchise for another 5 years

      • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:56 am

        LOL. Fingers crossed…

    • chipower9 said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:04 am

Agree with you big time here, Craig. Keep JG this year and let the rookie learn the system from him. The only way the rook starts is if JG gets hurt, and even then, maybe you trot-out your third-stringer.

  6. Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:31 am

I seem to remember Alex Wood always being tough on the Giants and now, watching more closely, I can see why. When he’s on he can be downright filthy, with all kinds of deception and a pair of nasty breaking pitches that make his average fastball look unhittable at times. He’s fun to watch.

I’m liking what I see from Doval so far. He has some serious stuff. Just needs some seasoning.

  7. Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:48 am

Nice beginning to his Giants’ career for Tauchman. Looks like he play well in CF too. I wouldn’t mind seeing less of Dubon out there.

    • willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:11 am

Slater too once Yaz is ready.

      • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:27 am

Yeah, I like Slater but he’s just not panning out like I hoped.

  8. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:09 am

If it comes to pass, then yeah, my big issue is they could have gotten Jones at 12. If they didn’t then Trask is a similar enough guy. I guess if he works out, it’ll be a footnote that we traded up for him.

I don’t buy it but hey, we wait and see. Still think Lance has the biggest potential.

    • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:29 am

Would he be there at 12? Maybe, maybe not. If that’s who they take, then clearly Shanahan doesn’t think so. Other teams between 12 and 3 are looking for QB’s too.

  9. willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:18 am

Niners fans way too obsessed over today. No one knows how well whomever they draft will ultimately work out within system. For every much heralded short term success RG3 type you have a guy like Raheem Mostert who was special teamer turned star running back. Relax and enjoy.

    • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:27 am

Way too obsessed? They traded a shit-ton of draft picks for this shot at what usually means a slam-dunk type of pick. This ain’t that. This very well could result in another regime change and 3-5 years of struggle.

Mainly because Shanny appears to have his blinders on regarding the guy he wants. If Jones is his guy, he should have waited at 12. Selling the farm was short-sighted.

      • chipower9 said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:05 am

I have said it before and will say it again. I don’t think Jones would have lasted to 12. There are too many teams in the hunt for a QB. If Jones is truly the guy Shanny wants, he wanted to ensure he can get his guy.

Again…I will accept whatever they do, and will pass judgement once I see the guy play for a year or so.

    • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:31 am

I’m actually just pumped for the draft and all the picks. But this one is even bigger because you’re talking about a franchise QB situation.

  10. Macdog said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:25 am

Kap said Tauchman “made good swing decisions.” Good to know. I guess Wood made good non-swing decisions? Also good timing for a day off after playing 13 straight before heading off to Petco for a big series with the third-place team.

  11. Irish Kevin said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:26 am

Well if they keep JG he will get hurt, and Jones, Fields, Lance will be put into the fire 🔥

    • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:33 am

Probably, but I believe Shanahan would like to ease the rookie in if he has his druthers.

  12. Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:37 am

Again, why did it HAVE to be Jones? There are 6 of these fuckers and Shanny is obsessed over the fattest one. If he wasn’t there at 12 that’s probably good fortune. Fucking take another one, Mr. QB *Guru*

    • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:39 am

Maybe he checks all the boxes for Shanny. That’d be my guess.

      • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:43 am

I’d hope a QB “guru’ would.work his magic with anyone who had a lot of talent.

      • chipower9 said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:07 am

That is what I have heard (that Jones checks all the boxes). That Jones already has what Shanny wants, and there is no guarantee that any of the others, regardless of what great physical specimens they are, can do what he wants his QB to do.

  13. Winder said, on April 29, 2021 at 8:51 am

For this one I am putting my rosy glasses back on. I don’t care who they pick because whoever it is they wanted him so bad we gave up a couple of 1st rders and a 3rd to move up. I am ready for the gamble and just hope the FO knows what it’s doing. I have been an armchair GM since I can remember and I am just glad I am not the one picking. Like I said earlier this one is Shanny’s baby and if it goes south it will set us back some but I don’t think it will bury the franchise. The Niners 1st rd pick seem to only pan out about every 3/4 years.

Love how the Giants are doing it. They have a team attitude and it shows. We are winning with a total team effort.

  14. willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 9:00 am

Guys need to chill. They haven’t picked anyone yet nor played a down in 2021 season and there’s all this doom posted. Effing calm down already grasshoppers.

  15. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 9:59 am

In the NFL where players are faster and stronger then ever before it makes no sense to draft Jones(who will end up being a Blaine Gabbert,Blake Bortles,Brandon Weeden etc, when either Fields are Lance should be the obvious pick.I’m just praying that it’s just all fake news about Jones within the organization and Shanny gets a Vulcan mind meld that erases all thoughts on Jones and only Fields still my pick are Lance when it’s all said and done.. I haven’t been this excited and possibly depressed at the same time, just hoping they don’t screwup like when they drafted Solomon Thomas. They have had their share of bad drafts, this isn’t the year to have another one.
So if you keep Jimmy G which I would be fine with since no teams maybe Pats on lower rd pick, doubt you can fleece a 2nd rounder with his injury history and maybe they don’t want to throw their top pick into the fire this 1st year if Jimmy goes down again, do u hand the keys over to Josh Rosen the 3rd stringer? Probably not..

    • chipower9 said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:11 am

Or, Jones could end up being Phillip Rivers or Drew Brees (that is the type Jones is…a pocket passer who has good pocket presence, can move to get his lane, make quick reads and put the ball on the money). None of us know UNTIL HE PLAYS (whoever it is).

  16. snarkk said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:01 am

I’ll make my one foray into the maze that is Duggarland.
The outfield gets thin by injury, and ZMan brings up — Duggar?
    No.
The Z trades wandering Wandy to get a Yank who’s lost his luster in the Bronx.
First game in SF, Tauchman (“diver” in German) is so slick and effective, it’s as if he’s been roaming and dominating in the ATT/Oracle outfield for 5 years.
The whole episode — ominous for Duggar’s SF’s future.
If Tauchman ends up really energizing the outfield, Duggar could end up the PTBNL, barring another injury, of course…

    • snarkk said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:14 am

BTW, apropos to the above, who the F is Skye Bolt?…

    • alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:58 am

And there still high on Lamote Wade jr as well who will get a call back up way before the GraveDuggar ever would.Yeah cut him loose to be the PTBNL but that’s only if the Yanks want him anyway..

  17. snarkk said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:07 am

Ever since Joe and Steve were done, the SF quarterback has been a sore spot around here. I don’t think I’ve heard such non-stop BS and nonsense about one topic on local sports talk radio since the Joe/Steve contretemps back in the ’80s. And, the useless, equivocal blather by the national “experts” on who will be drafted has been epic. Both, but especially Joe (who is God), ruined the QB position for the Niners for the next 50 years. Woe be it unto all who take that position until those, like me, who saw and can remember Joe and Steve spreading miracles in the red and gold, are all gone…

  18. mrsprtdude said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:31 am

    Go Giants!!

Rare day off during the week. Saw Steven A ripping Shanny. “Why doesn’t anyone bring up the fact that this guy blew 2 superbowls?? He may be a play calling genius, but we treat him like he is the 2nd coming of Lombardi! he is actually the guy who blew 2 big leads in the superbowl, and if this pick doesn’t work he will be fired!

    My thoughts exactly!!

    • blade3colorado said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:30 am

What you said . . . Dollars to donuts – he’s run out of San Francisco like his dad, “rat face” was in Denver.

    • snarkk said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:51 am

Compared to his immediate predecessors — the disasters that were Kelly and Tomsula — Shanny looks really good. But, an SB loss is not nearly as good job saving capital as a SB win, so he’s entering hot seat territory. If this QB pick turns sour, yeah, he’ll probably be done with the Niners. Though, I doubt they’ll find anybody better, if it comes to that…

  19. gianthead said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:16 am

Your point about Matt Jones would be there at #12 is exactomundo…they surely did not move up to 3 for him. Trey Lance has to be the pick right???

  20. gianthead said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:21 am

Arguments made here are why I think Shanahan if true that he prefers Matt Jones is not making this final decision and it will be all John Lynch…why? Because if Shanahan cant win next year with JG or the year after that with our soon to be drafted QB then Shanahan’s ass is out of there. Is Lynch going to tie the next 5-10 years of this franchise to Shanahan making the call and he shits the bed with Jones? I think not.

    • chipower9 said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:48 am

I have read Lynch quoted that he provides input on the offense, and will do so on the pick for a QB, but he also said it is Shanahan’s pick to make, and he will support that pick. Whoever the pick as their QB, it will be Shanny’s pick.

  21. willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:21 am

Props to snarkk for 10:07. Too much to live up to for faithful…like comparing CFs to Willie Mays.

As Rox head out of town, Giants have now moved to 8th best NL for runs per game and are league average for OPS. Despite lack of superstars, they have 8 more doubles and 5 more HRs than Padres, in 88 fewer ABs.
Giants are 4th in NL for HRs. And of course won yesterday comfortably without double or bomb.

Wood has been great, but let’s hope he’s only pitcher with a caught stealing all year.

  22. snarkk said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:53 am

Early returns, and based on a soft schedule to date, but Giants look better than 77 Ws I predicted. Starting staff has been lights out. They aren’t even hitting yet. Let’s see how they do vs. a tougher May schedule. You have to give it up to the Zman, he was handed a situation full of lemons, and he’s fairly quickly made not just lemonade, but limoncello…

  23. Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 11:54 am

If Tauchman is the guy who finally dethrones the hopes and dreams we have for The Gave Duggar I’m ok with that. I was always just into him for the name anyway. If he goes to NY as PTBNL then Loo can take up the lead for NY on rooting for him

    • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 12:09 pm

I still laugh when I think that Jose Rodriguez (nee: Jose Uribe) was literally the player to be named later in the Jack Clark trade.

  24. wilcojoe said, on April 29, 2021 at 12:03 pm

Totally agree Flav that the Niners gave up way too much for a guy they could likely get at #12. As much as I follow college football, I gave up on trying to predict which college QB would translate to a great NFL QB years ago….Would love to see Lynch pull a Sonny Weaver Jr. and trade back to 12 to get back some of his draft picks plus an established NFL veteran.

    How bout them Giants?

  25. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 12:06 pm

FWIW, the betting line is on Lance (ohpleaseohpleaseohplease).

  26. zumiee said, on April 29, 2021 at 1:03 pm

Hey, while I’m feeling some negative vibes about Krukow’s broadcasting, the other night he said the umps do a great job. We know the umps do NOT do a great job. They are mediocre, at best. They blow balls and strikes calls all the time. And we’ve seen from instant replay that the umps are only right about 50% on close calls at the bases, which is literally as good as just flipping a coin.

    • zumiee said, on April 29, 2021 at 1:14 pm

Umpiring baseball is nowhere near as difficult as officiating basketball or football, which have players moving all over the place at the same time, making contact, and leading to all kinds of instant judgment calls that have to be made or not made.
I ponder this question: why aren’t the baseball umps better? I think a main part of the reason is the way they are used on the field. The sport needs a whole re-doing of the concept of umpiring. For one thing, the first base ump is the person with the WORST view of plays at first base of anybody in the whole stadium, and yet he’s the one making the call for safe or out at firstbase. It’s ridiculous. They blow close calls at firstbase all the time.

      • zumiee said, on April 29, 2021 at 1:16 pm

The widespread integration of electronics into umpiring is clearly the answer. And yet baseball hesitates on that for who knows why. They could just get rid of all the current umps, and bring in people that are tech-savvy, and use all kinds of cool electronics to help ump the games. It would be far better, IMO.

    • willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 1:35 pm

to go back on Abner Doubleday nonsense, turns out in Cuba they were playing baseball in 1860s. “Baseball contests (through small admission charges) were even used by the anti government combatants to raise needed cash for their rebel causes. The Spanish governors retaliated by banning all ball playing on the island after the 1868 outbreak of the Ten Years War (the first major phase of the Independence skirmish.”

From “Cuba’s Baseball Defectors” by Peter Bjarkman. first chapter btw was on Yasiel Puig. Started reading this after finishing “Tony Perez: From Cuba to Cooperstown” by John Erardi. His real name was Atanacio and was known to Cubans as “Tani”. Great read complete with extensive appendix history of all Cuban ballplayers in America and elsewhere, including guy Loo mentioned Camilo Pascual.

  27. zumiee said, on April 29, 2021 at 1:19 pm

I absolutely do not miss those old fashioned long ridiculous pointless arguments the managers used to have with umps. Allowing managers to call for replay got rid of that, and the sport is better for it.

  28. zumiee said, on April 29, 2021 at 1:23 pm

Krukow: “This homeplate ump will give the pitcher the low strike early in the game, but then not as much later in the game.”
Kuiper: “You’re just making that up, aren’t you.”
    Krukow: “Yeah.”
Kuiper: “I have no problem with that.”

Interesting column on fangraphs re: Tauchman/Peralta trade. Writer throws a little shade on Tauchman 2019 season with Yanks, the outlier among his other brief ML seasons. Wonders if he hasn’t ever fully recovered from injury problems that ruined 2020, says he is noticeably slower, and that even in 2019 had lower than league average barrel pct. and neither hard hit rate nor exit velo anything special.
Hey he looked great last night in field, but also lucky at the plate (and unlucky on called K) after first line drive.
Bar for outplaying playing CFs of 2021 Giants so far not real high.

  30. gianthead said, on April 29, 2021 at 2:13 pm

Seems crazy but what is the chance Niners can pull off an Aaron Rodgers trade? Let him QB for a couple of years and then Trey Lance (spending a couple years being groomed is probably a plus) Jones or Fields develop. Besides JG (gives Packers another year to from their next QB), we have tradable picks this year amd then do you add one of the bigger names on defense and one of the young receivers??? Would that get her done???

    • chipower9 said, on April 29, 2021 at 2:28 pm

The supposed offer for Rodgers included the 3rd pick today, so no way in hell they would have both. That shit ain’t happenin’….

  31. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 2:41 pm

The point isn’t that the Niners are pining for Joe. Or crying for past greatness. It’s that Shanahan appears ready to sell the team down the river for a guy they could have drafted without trading the farm. THAT is the problem.

If they pick Lance, I’ll be thrilled. Why? Because his ceiling is way above the plodding doughy fuck. If it backfires, I’d be pissed, but I can live with that. Jones is the safe choice for obvious reasons, and this shit will not be resolved till 2023 or 2024, but the way Shanny has pretty much said from day 1 that it’s his way or the highway, well, fuck him. It has already been reported that the entire front office, including Lynch, want Lance. Lynch should have the final say anyway. But if Shanny gets his guy, it’ll suck.

Yeah, we all get to wait and see for the next 2-3 seasons of whatever, but it sure looks like the braintrust (Shanahan) wants to start Jones in 2021 anyway. If they can pry a 2nd round pick out of anyone for Jimmy, they’ll likely take it as that is what he cost them originally.

    • willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 3:14 pm

Dude, I rest my case-y’all need to get off the ledge, kick back and let it unfold
      . “well, fuck him.”
In April? we don’t KNOW who “his guy” is, how whomever it is will do, or how the season will go, or the future of any of the QBs chosen early. All I’ve read all day is if this, then that useless BS.

A year ago draft day Niners had been in competitive SB 2 months previous (with Shanahan and G) and were drafting for different needs and took Aiyuk first. Once season started they lost Bosa and the G and Mostert and Kittle and DBs and LBs and O linemen yada yada. Everything in football can change in heartbeat and cannot possibly be predicted.

    • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:01 pm

Need I remind you due to Shanny’s stubbornness he lost 2 Super Bowls? With Atlanta, it was especially egregious. It’s called a pattern. One that he’s the smartest guy in the room and to hell with the rest of you. We went down this same road with Harbaugh. He did well with a stacked team around him, but it went to hell quickly for many various reasons.

What will we know? Well, they’ve already stated that Shanny has more power than Lynch base on Shanny’s own words that everyone in the front office is trying to get him off of Jones as they ALL want Lance. THIS is a big problem to me.

I understand that we won’t know till 2023 or possibly 2024 whether the pick was good or not. My bone to pick is the same bone that Chicago choked on a few years back. They traded up with us for no reason. They KNEW we were all-in on Solly Thomas, yet they traded up to get in front of us for no reason to get Trubiscuit. Stupid, but it didn’t cost them three 1st round picks.

Do you think THREE 1str round picks is a big deal? it kinda sells out the future for now. And more than likely they could have gotten him in their original spot. THAT is my problem.

      And the pick is . . .

  46. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:43 pm

From day 1 I hd them taking Lance. For good or ill.

    I fucking LOVE IT@!!!!

    • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:46 pm

      Big diff from JG huh?

      • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:50 pm

Think Norm Snead compared Fran Tarkington.

      • willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:11 pm

        And fuck him.

  47. gianthead said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:43 pm

    Whomp there it is!!!

  48. Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:46 pm

The greatest mystery is why the Niners felt the need to float the mac Jones rumor. There was no need to do that

    • Winder said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:47 pm

I think they did because of Saleh

      • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:54 pm

That doesn’t even really make sense. NO ONE had jones at 2. It was either between Fields or Wilson.

If we were pretending to be all-in on Fields, I could see us trying to pump his value up. But not with Jones.

    • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:47 pm

Would you have tuned in to the kings of Leon otherwise?

    • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:52 pm

Jolly Roger Goodell prolly called John Lynch and said, create some angst around your pick’ just to increase the viewership.

  49. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 5:48 pm

A great pick! Shanny will avoid the criticism!
Lance plenty of upside over doughboy ! Thank you
Sonny(Kevin Costner) Trey Lance no matter what!

    • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:01 pm

I’m 100% all in on this as long as Jimmy G is the QB this year.

  50. gianthead said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:02 pm

Maybe they just wanted to really mentlaly fuck Matt Jones lol…but I am buying that Shanahan did want Jones and all the bs that this was Shanahan’s pick was all smoke. Lynch runs this team and Trey Lance was his pick and that is the way it should be!!!

What I don’t buy is that the Niners offered the third pick for Rodgers. Packers were not going to draft a QB at #3 so there was no need for them to get that pick. If the Packers did indeed reject a deal (whatever the terms), I hope Rodgers says ok fuck you I am now retired…

    • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:06 pm

there’s no way they offered the 3rd pick for Rodgers that is just internet nonsense.

      • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:12 pm

Jimmy G was part of the deal if you believe the whispers.

      • Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:18 pm

Yeah, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Glad Rodgers isn’t coming just because of his age.

    • alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:12 pm

We’ll Rodgers doesn’t want to be in Green Bay he wants to be on the west coast with his jeopardy gig and that new fiancé Woodley in the Hollywood world now.I’m not buying anything about that trade to the 49ers.But yeah he’s miserable right now and especially when they drafted Love last year and not go out and improve the team more wit playmakers.. Raiders could still be an option and he’s one team that he would waive his no trade scenario for..

  51. Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:02 pm

    this is Mahomes redux

  52. James said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:07 pm

Doesn’t anyone feel sorry for the doughy fuck?

    • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:13 pm

oh man FUCK THAT guy, lol!

    • alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:17 pm

Maybe just his father Mr.Pillsbury Sr
It’s ok Mac can always get a backup roll in Ghostbusters 4.

    • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:29 pm

Sympathy? From pumped up sports fans? Lulz.

    • James said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:36 pm

      You guys are really mean.

      • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:38 pm

        meanest I’ve ever seen

  53. Irish Kevin said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:07 pm

Kyle chose Lance cause he is still a raw talent, he can mold him into the player he wants him to be, just like Walsh did with Montana

    • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:14 pm

agreed, but here’s the deal. There was NO REASON to float this Mac Fatty rumor for so long. Lance was never getting drafted 1 or 2. This whole thing was a gigantic waste of time and stress for Niner fans and there was NO FUCKING reason for it

      • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:18 pm

BF, it’s all hype all the time until kickoff. Buy the rumor sell the news, as stock traders say.

      • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:23 pm

Actually Winder makes sense. Lance (in my opinion) has the biggest upside of all these guys not named Lawrence. The Niners preach Jones to keep Lance on their screen and under the Jets radar, and not tip their hand as to wanting Lance.

I would have shit a brick had the Jets taken Lance, because I think Wilson could have come into our team and kicked major ass, but that is the way they played it.

Frankly, this is the ideal situation for anyone. We are a very talented team, and any QB worth a plug nickel could do well in this situation.

  54. djloo27 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:19 pm

    Who’s MacDog’s guy at #11?

    • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:25 pm

      The fat boy?

    • alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:27 pm

They need receivers I say Devonte Smith Alabama?

  55. Lurker John said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:19 pm

I don’t think he did float that rumor, why would he? The so-called pundits did, imo.

  56. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:23 pm

That’s just how all teams play it, unless it’s the obvious with Lawrence..
Still whoever grabs Fields is getting one hell of a football player and it probably going to be Denver, fuck Bridge water and Lock they’re just place holders for them.,

  57. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:24 pm

Yeah, I think Denver is getting Fields. They are SO desperate for a QB that they can’t pass this up.

Fucking horseface is still their GM!!!!!

  58. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:27 pm

Hah! Denver relegated to 3rd place in the AFC west yet again.

  59. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:35 pm

Cowboys got screwed by Denver wanting Surtain now they draft out to screw the Giants as Eagles will take WR Devonte Smith.

  60. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:38 pm

Damm Cheatin Bill will get his QB probably without moving..

    • unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:40 pm

Yep. This is why there was SO much angst around Jones and his spot.

  61. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:40 pm

Cowboys were all-in on Surtain or Horn. That’s actually a good move for them. Fucking Jerry Jerk-off must be listening to his children or some shit. They’ve made some pretty good moves lately. Still and all, fuck ’em sideways.

  62. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:41 pm

Here we go the Bears are getting a QB!
Gotta be Fields over Doughboy right?

  63. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:43 pm

Fucking Bears traded up for Jones? !!! If they pick him they are lunatics. They JUST got through the Trubiscuit era. They HAVE to go for Fields.

  64. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:47 pm

Just a downright Steal the Bears finally get it right with Fields.

  65. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:48 pm

Yes. I’m happy for them. Bears get Fields.

  66. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 6:51 pm

Well Billy boy will end up with Jones cause the Cowboys,Chargers and Vikings don’t need a QB..

    • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:08 pm

      cool your jets?

      • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:12 pm

maybe youre right Brady was a doughy kid, wasn’t he? 70s sports guy sure makes that case.

  67. unca_chuck said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:19 pm

they could be matching book ends.

  68. willedav said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:31 pm

Dogs lose to Brewers 2-1, falling to 16-10. which means…

    • alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:33 pm

Our SF Giants are in 1st place without playing! Yes it’s turning out to be one hell of a great day!!

    • xoot said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:33 pm

Giants flag could still be on top of staff when they come home.

  69. alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:31 pm

When a guy like Jones slides to 15 u know no teams were interested in him.Thank god the 49ers took Trey Lance who’s already graded out as an A draft pick with their selection!

  70. zumiee said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:32 pm

Matt Duffy is playing for the Cubs. That dude is a survivor.

    • alleykat69 said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:38 pm

Yep..All you need now Zumie is for Christian Arroyo to recreate what a ball player should be..

    • Flavor said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:39 pm

he’s getting lots of singles and making certain Flappers very proud.

  71. zumiee said, on April 29, 2021 at 7:43 pm

  73. chipower9 said, on April 29, 2021 at 9:33 pm

Well fuck, that didn’t work. Anyway, very happy with the pick! I was sold on the Jines bullshit. Glad they took Lance.

  74. mrsprtdude said, on April 29, 2021 at 10:23 pm

Glad it wasn’t Jones, but i wanted Fields. 2 years at OSU. 78 TD’s. SEVENTY EIGHT
#1/#2 guy out of HS with Lawrence. So pressure.

Played the toughest schedule in all college football (I heard it today). I hate THE Ohio state, so no need to give me crap:) Kicked Clemsons ass and had 6 TDs on the biggest stage. I don’t get how Lance is ahead of this guy?
