The Grave Duggar and Posey continue to lead the team in hitting but that W doesn’t happen without The Sock Man. I’m really not sure what I would have done had we blown that game and it came within inches of The Sock Man failing. But he didn’t and we go on to win.
Baseball is a funny game.
For the collective psyche of the team last night’s win was critical. Team win.

Great win for the G’s today! But the 5-run lead late never did feel all that safe to me. The bullpen remains shaky, imo, but they got it done. Webb is really starting to put it all together, which will bolster an already solid rotation. I have to wonder what kind of moves Zaidi will make to strengthen the pen.
And listening to the Dogpile homer announcers for the entire game was a real barf fest, so roughing their asses up was a great remedy for that shit. With Gausman going tomorrow, legit shot at 3 of 4. GO GIANTS!

I went out to an early dinner with friends for the first time in more than a year tonight. What a blast. The month of May 2021 does not disappoint. The drought is here, I know, but in the short term . . . .
Now, settling in with diverse night caps, flipping around the snl-less dial looking for a Columbo rerun or its ilk to relax with, I come across the CW network, which I don’t believe I’ve ever before watched. It’s showing the Sacramento River Cats vs. the a’s Las Vegas AAA team. Tuned in just in time to see Joey Bart break up a perfect game with a dink hit. Joey hustled well to first and looked happy to be on the field again.
Columbo reruns FTW. I must’ve seen every one of those 5 times, but always end up watching when they’re on.

I’m rewatching the game and have to say that Webb was really impressive, especially in the 4th and 5th innings, 12 in a row retired to close out his outing. He has three legitimate pitches and his slider doesn’t get talked about all that much. It’s pretty nasty. 93-96 on the fastball with good movement and that filthy changeup. If he keeps developing and being consistent, he could end up being really good.
I thought Bickford’s name looked familiar, 2015 draft pick of the Giants.

Randle play was great, and definitely part of old school baseball that goes back long way.
Yaz had nice bunt for hit to get on base, and then scored on HR. Seems like he is driving ball these days and getting back into it. Welcome sign…not so sure about Dickerson or Tauchman value going forward. GD at high point of his career…we’ll see how sustainable that is.
