I was thinking about pen. Giants scored off Treinen and pinned L on Jansen game before. In the Dodgers pen game they scored twice on bombs hit off Kelly and Gonzalez. And they continued to add on yesterday vs. Roberts middle relief chumps after hammering Urias for 11 hits and 7 runs.
Dodgers have some issues their pen too, and Roberts isn’t exactly Bochy either.

3 hits for Flores in his first day back among 16 total, and nobody got hurt. Gotta love it.

      Wilmet needs his rest.
What a boost if he can catch fire along with a couple other laggards…

The snarkk house has its collective dauber way, way down today. Yesterday, we put down the snarkkmutt, my avatar here since forever. Real name- Paddy, being born on March 17 (allegedly). Boy, did he love those corned beef birthdays. A chow hound choco lab and proud of it, tireless (and always unsuccessful) squirrel hunter, and lover of all except neighborhood little shit, aggressive yapper dogs that pissed him off to no end. He was 14, with bad arthritis and other ills, his expiration date had passed a while ago, and his body, not spirit, just gave out after a long and valiant fight. A lasting memory will always be that one night in the kitchen when I threw a biscuit his way, underthrown. My bad. But when it bounced off the floor, he made a short hop pickup direct into his mouth that was as smooth and gold glove as any Crawford backhand pick. Whenever a tidbit went flying from my hand in his direction, he was the best. Up, down, wide left, wide right, he picked it. UZR was off the charts. All of us were with him when the vet gently helped him into the next doggie dimension. He graced fully 2/3 of the Snarkette’s lives, and their tears flowed in proportion. Mine too, dammit. We knew it was coming, but it hurts like hell, nonetheless. Good bye, ya’ Mutt, you were a great dog, you made our lives richer and lots more fun…

Classic pic on top of it…sorry for your loss. Love dogs.

    • Flavor said, on May 30, 2021 at 9:45 am

ugh. I sometimes think it is easier for us to let people go than pets. Sorry for your loss.

    • Bozo said, on May 30, 2021 at 9:50 am

Sorry to hear of your loss. Even when you know it has to be done, that is one long crappy day. Take care.

    • djloo27 said, on May 30, 2021 at 10:03 am

Condolences and a beautiful tribute, Snarkk.
He was a lucky dog to have such a loving and devoted family…

Sad day when you lose a family member. Sounds like he had a great life.

    • chipower9 said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:24 am

Snarkk – so sorry to hear about Paddy. Wishing you and yours peace and comfort during this time of loss. ❤️🐾🐾🐾

    • Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:55 am

So sorry for you and your family, Snarkk. Very nice tribute to the snarkkmutt.

  5. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 9:41 am

Really sorry to hear about Paddy, Snarkk. The pain of losing a four-legged friend is as intense and devastating as anything I’ve come across in my life. I’ve gone through it a couple of times and it’s taken me a long time to recover, but you never really do. Knowing that you gave him a great life is something to keep in mind. I always loved that pic!

    RIP, Paddy.

  6. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 9:43 am

That really is a cool video. The coolest part may be just how happy the kid is to get a bat for his birthday. The dinger is the icing on the cake.

  7. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 9:52 am

Winning today and beating Opie in the process would make this one of the sweetest series wins in recent memory and I don’t care if it’s “only” May. It’s the fucking Dodgers and that will always be a big deal for the Giants and their fans.

After last week’s beatdown and the loss in game 1, things weren’t looking too good, but they’ve really turned it around. Let’s hope Gausman brings his A game today. And rest or not, I want to see Posey in there. The drop-off from him to the miserable Casali is comical. With the lefty going, Buster needs to play. He can rest tomorrow.

  8. Bozo said, on May 30, 2021 at 9:55 am

Webb looked really good yesterday. That dude looks like he might be putting it all together. Also, I gotta think the Tauchman catch yesterday helped in sparking the team up. We can beat these guys.

  9. willedav said, on May 30, 2021 at 10:03 am

Snarkk, sorry to hear that. I’m sure he lived happy life under love and care from you and your family.

  10. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 10:32 am

If that photo is any indication of his usual demeanor, he was one happy canine!

  11. alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 10:33 am

Snarkk so sorry for your loss of Paddy, as an owner of many great dogs that I’ve sadly had to put down with tears in my eyes and my family it’s one the worst feelings in the world.I currently have a Chug part Pug part chihuahua named Meister, my rental dog I ended up with when my daughters friend in college couldn’t keep him anymore, and the sucker that I am after a trial run i kept him.But glad I did, one cool dog 🐶
Best to you and Mrs.Snarkk along with the Snarketts during this difficult time..

  12. mrsprtdude said, on May 30, 2021 at 10:42 am

If you really want to make her sob, show her this…

      1. Austin Slater (R) LF
      2. Donovan Solano (R) 2B
      3. Wilmer Flores (R) 1B
      4. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
      5. Mauricio Dubon (R) SS
      6. Steven Duggar (L) CF
      7. Curt Casali (R) C
      8. Mike Tauchman (L) RF
      9. Kevin Gausman (L) P

  15. alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:05 am

What a matchup today, 2 Aces going, if the Giants can get to Opie early getting a lead I feel real good about Gausman getting it done.Sure would be one hell of an epic road trip to take 5 out of 6 and stick it back to the Dodgers after last weekend’s nightmare..
Giants baseball they are a resilient grinding bunch!

  16. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:07 am

What a shocker, no Buster. Maybe he’ll be available to pinch hit if they need him.

  17. chipower9 said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:26 am

Let’s go Giants. I was out of pocket all day yesterday competing with my dog. On the way home heard the score that Giants were up. Gut premonition was 3-1 series, Giants. Make it so!

  18. Winder said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:31 am

Beating Kershaw today would be just the shot in the arm the Giants need. It would also put LA on notice.

  19. djloo27 said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:50 am

Objectively speaking about the Grave Duggar, whose at bats have my laser focus, I think he may struggle today if Opie has his good stuff. If he has a big day, he will be the talk of baseball…

    • alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 12:10 pm

Fortunately for Grave Duggar he has the productive bats of Casali& Tauchman following him in the LU..

  20. willedav said, on May 30, 2021 at 11:59 am

wow Knicks down 17 end of 3. Game 5 would be at MSG; if they don’t come back would be down 3-1.

    • djloo27 said, on May 30, 2021 at 12:09 pm

      Randle’s game has deserted him.
      Looks lost…

  21. mrsprtdude said, on May 30, 2021 at 12:21 pm

Not playing Posey in a series to win 3-1 vs 2-2 is STUPID!

  22. mrsprtdude said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:02 pm

Ok so this happened.. The wife is cleaning my sons room. he is college grad now and the boys room will be a guest room soon:) So back in the day an employee / friend of mine’s husband worked for the Rangers. He was minor league roommate of Rich Aurilla. So my friend tells me her husband would be stopping in to see rich, and knows I am huge Giants fan. Asks if I want a ball signed. Me Yes. So a f days later my employee shows up with 3 balls in a bag Aurilal, Kent, Bonds. YAY!

I go get the plastic cases you can buy. Now years later my wife gets the cases off my sons shelf in his room. One is not in a case, clearly handled by grubby kids fingers. Guess which one? Yup BB

  23. Pasalon said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:19 pm

Nothing feels better than to score on Kershaw.

    • Pasalon said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:20 pm

Except of course homering against Kershaw!

  24. djloo27 said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:20 pm

    Super Bon-Bon, Super Bon-Bon!

  25. willedav said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:21 pm

wow Flaco takes Opie out the yard. That short LF porch there is very inviting–right where Solano got his other night.

  26. alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:21 pm

Dubon delivers a Bomb off of Kershaw!!
    3-0!!’

  27. Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:21 pm

    Wow Dubey!

  28. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:21 pm

BOOM!!! Dubon picking up his boys Longo and Wilmer! Huge hit!

  29. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:22 pm

    That was a thunderous shot!

  30. alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:24 pm

Foul pole Homers are always cool as long it’s a Giant hitting it.

  31. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:25 pm

That’s how you start off against Kershaw. Get him in trouble early and don’t let him off the hook. There you go, KG, an early lead to work with.

  32. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:31 pm

The only Dodger in recent years I despise more than Turner is Muncy. His face just pisses me off. I suspect it pisses his mom off too. And yeah, both those assholes kill the Giants.

  33. alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:46 pm

Yeah Muncy reminds me of the asshole the Giants use to have for 1 way to long of a season
    AJ Perjerkoff..

  34. Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:51 pm

    Wow Slater!

  35. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:53 pm

  36. alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 1:53 pm

Austin Power Limits smokes another HR off Kershaw, he owns him!

  37. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:08 pm

Gausman making that fat fucker look bad. Love it.

  38. zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:11 pm

Sorry for your loss, Snarkk. It’s a tough thing for a family to go through. Dogs and cats become beloved members of the family. We’re thinking about you.

  39. Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:17 pm

    Gaus RBI single!

  40. alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:20 pm

    Gausman.200
    Tauchman.198
    Casali.107

    • Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:29 pm

I was going to bemoan the automatic outs at 7-8 ruining that inning, but Gausman came through.

    • Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:29 pm

Yikes. Casali has been completely and utterly unimpressive, not to mention not all that great behind the plate.

  41. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:28 pm

When he’s on, Gausman does a great job of keeping the hitters off balance. Not too many comfortable swings today so far. He has ’em guessing and that’s what it’s all about as a pitcher.

    • alleykat69 said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:43 pm

Gausman has 2 pitches that are top 10 value among all pitchers, The 4 seamer FB and that lethal downward split. He just has so much confidence with those 2 he just seems to toy with hitters at time.He could easily be the A/S starter this year, of course I’m bias too lol 😂

  42. zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 2:35 pm

    Longo barely missed that.

  43. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:11 pm

Great, now Gausman might be hurt? Why the hell else would you have Garcia warming up? 72 pitches through 6.

  44. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:23 pm

Two miserable AB’s in a row.

    • Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:28 pm

      Make it three.

  45. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:32 pm

Great, what’s the next piece of bad news going to be, Gausman to the IL? WTF is up with these injuries.

  46. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:32 pm

And here we go, nibble, nibble, nibble.

  47. zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:33 pm

The Giants need to keep coaching up Dubon and help get his baseball IQ higher. Kelly had walked two guys and Dubon is up there hacking at stuff out of the strike zone. I know Kelly is throwing 99, but still, Dubon looked kind of over-eager, IMO.

  48. Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:34 pm

Leadoff walk with a 5-0 lead, it’s bullpen time.

    • zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:34 pm

      Aargh.

  49. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:35 pm

Him and Longo both were hacking at pitches well out of the zone against a guy who was struggling to throw strikes. Not good. I don’t care how hard he throws, those pitches weren’t close.

  50. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:39 pm

As soon as I talk Longo up he makes a boneheaded play on an easy DP ball.

  51. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 3:59 pm

    This bullpen is unbelievable.

    • zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:01 pm

      Clean innings are rare.

  52. Bozo said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:03 pm

At some point you gotta just walk or flat out hit Muncy.

  53. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:08 pm

    Geez, and here comes McGee.

  54. Winder said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:11 pm

    here we go.

  55. zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:12 pm

Unfortunately the D has been shaky today.

  56. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:13 pm

It’s been shaky the entire series and that includes Tauchman’s catch.

  57. Winder said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:13 pm

Nice McGee reached a little back on that one

  58. zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:13 pm

It was literally Laskey’s pregame point of emphasis about the Giants today: play good D.

  59. Winder said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:14 pm

    Fuck

  60. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:15 pm

Honestly, if Zaidi doesn’t do something to improve the pen, he’s fucking negligent.

  61. djloo27 said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:15 pm

If they blow this game, I’m getting un-vaccinated…

  62. Macdog said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:15 pm

If the Angels had played the Giants, they never would’ve dumped Pujols.

  63. zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:15 pm

Should have only been a solo shot.

  64. djloo27 said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:16 pm

    Sit down ya fuckin prick!

  65. willedav said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:16 pm

Never a dull moment with McGee.

  66. zumiee said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:17 pm

Even the new Dodgers feel all entitled. Such a cocky team.

    • Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:18 pm

  67. Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:18 pm

  68. Bozo said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:18 pm

  69. snarkk said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:18 pm

After that botched throw to first, Miller actually called him McGoo, then corrected himself.
Then the gopher ball to Pooholz. Seriously, McGoo needs to be relegated to mop up only…

    • Lurker John said, on May 30, 2021 at 4:20 pm

A classic Freudian slip and spot on. McGoo indeed. LOL!
