Who’s Your Current Favorite Giant?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 28, 2021

If you could only pick one, who would it be and why? My answer is easy and obvious: he brings his shovel to work. What started out as just a great nickname has blossomed into one of the best stories in years. He has the best OPS on the team. He’s their fastest player. And their best outfielder. The Grave Duggar is MY GUY.

But there are so many to choose from.

You have to pick 1.

Go!

More Flap representation. Here is Chi and his daughter at the game yesterday:

    Come on! One more hit.

  3. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:11 pm

    Fuck this shit.

  4. chipower9 said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:12 pm

You guys were taking about potential call-ups. I saw the news on Ramos. But the guy who could get the call is Kat’s boy Jaylin….

  5. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:13 pm

    Hope so.

  6. chipower9 said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:13 pm

Hard time getting that key knock tonight…damn.

  7. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:14 pm

    Ruff/Dick is more like Fuck/Sick.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Vosler and Davis instead of those two…..

    • unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:37 pm

I’d take Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon

  8. Macdog said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:15 pm

Runner on 2nd no out but can’t score, seems familiar.

  9. snarkk said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Giants have trouble scoring sans HR…

  10. alleykat69 said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:18 pm

It’s a disgrace to baseball to allow the 3 worse umpires Hernandez,Bucknor, and West 🙈🙉🙊 to continue as umpires. The umpire union sure must have plenty of pull to keep these clowns 🤡 around.

  11. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:19 pm

    Bauer celebrates getting through 6?

  12. zumiee said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:21 pm

That AB by Ruf was ridiculous. It looked like someone woke him up on the bench a few minutes before the AB.

    • chipower9 said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:23 pm

      They didn’t?

    • unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:25 pm

      A few minutes after?

  13. Macdog said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:26 pm

There should be unlimited challenges when Hernandez does a game.

    • xoot said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:32 pm

Can fans throw balls at him?

  14. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:27 pm

    Come
    On man. Can’t lose Yaz!

    • xoot said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:42 pm

The shin bone is stronger than concrete, right?

  15. xoot said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Snarkk I share your enthusiasm for Heliot R. Maybe he’s ailing right now. An OF of Yaz GD and Ramos could be great

    • chipower9 said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:42 pm

Agree…but I would wait until Ramos gets the current kinks worked-out. Davis is killing it…he really should get a call. Would be good exposure if they want to package him in a trade….

  16. alleykat69 said, on June 28, 2021 at 9:34 pm

Nice swing by Buster for the hit..
    Let’s go Dick!!

    Casali over Slater why??

    • Macdog said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:03 pm

That says it all about the bench options.

  23. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:00 pm

    They are pitching to Wade?

  24. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:01 pm

  26. mrsprtdude said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:03 pm

2 solo homers. The rest has ben awful. 11 baserunners besides the homers and no runs WTF??

  27. mrsprtdude said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:04 pm

    fav? POSEY!!!!

  28. alleykat69 said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:06 pm

One out Kapler goes with Casali instead of the 2nd fastest runner in Slater who could of put more pressure on a play.Weird call to me..

  29. zumiee said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:09 pm

It’s hard to justify Slater being on the roster if Casali is used instead of him to PH. It’s not ideal to use up the back-up catcher in that situation.

    • zumiee said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:10 pm

      Same with Dubon.

    • djloo27 said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:25 pm

Your back-up catcher point is right on.
Yeah, he’s been hitting lately, but he still can’t really hit…

  30. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:15 pm

    Well that was stupid

  31. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:16 pm

  35. chipower9 said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:21 pm

    That sucked….get the split tomorrow….

  36. unca_chuck said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:21 pm

    Christ 0-15 with risp?

  37. Macdog said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:21 pm

Thanks to Tauchman’s stupidity, Crawford is left standing on deck.

  38. djloo27 said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:22 pm

I didn’t think the Sock Man made a bad decision.
Just ran too slow and the throw was perfect…

  39. zumiee said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:22 pm

Too many Giants looked lost against off-speed stuff tonight.

    • Macdog said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:24 pm

Dodgers really did pound them with that all night.

  40. alleykat69 said, on June 28, 2021 at 10:24 pm

Brutal loss, except for the 2 bombs nobody could knock a run in with 12hits as they left 13 guys in risp..

    • snarkk said, on June 28, 2021 at 11:01 pm

Giants often have trouble putting 3 hits together, or even two hits together after a walk or hit batter…

      • zumiee said, on June 28, 2021 at 11:26 pm

It’s the all-or-nothing HR ball of today. Teams do win doing it. There are going to be games like this. That’s part of the deal. The Dodgers got no-hit last week, of course.

  41. James said, on June 29, 2021 at 7:36 am

After yesterday’s frustrating Ofer, SF is hitting 251 w/ RISP. That’s 11 points above the league average and ten above the team’s overall BA.

    • unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2021 at 8:12 am

When does that translate into a win? There’s no such thing as ‘clutch hitting’ but there’s a stat for it.

      • James said, on June 29, 2021 at 9:18 am

Yes, I think I’ve been saying that for over 10 years now. I cited the stat to show that there’s nothing unusual about the Giants hitting in those situations.

      • unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2021 at 10:06 am

But but but before yesterday, they were 50 points over that average. What’s it all about, Alfie?

  42. willedav said, on June 29, 2021 at 7:58 am

mm Baggs in Athletic mentioned Casali over Slater and Dubon and other blogs talking about it too. Kap said he thought Casali might have drawn a BB too…left unsaid that others couldn’t. Lack of offense from RHs is messing up platoon game, especially for OF.
Wade Jr. sure is a bright spot. Belt apparently won’t need surgery though tbd.

  43. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2021 at 8:13 am

You don’t need a walk in that situation.

  44. Bozo said, on June 29, 2021 at 8:20 am

Why is Ángel Hernández still allowed to work MLB games?

    • Macdog said, on June 29, 2021 at 8:31 am

That’s an excellent question. There are some bad umpires out there, but he is by far the worst.

    • unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2021 at 10:07 am

Because the Umpire’s union is a good one. They can grade each other all they like and still suck balls.

      Just ask Cowboy Joe West.

But it all averages out in the end, right?
