Let us know how the golfing has gone…sent you a minor league pic of the kids..

    • Flavor said, on July 17, 2021 at 1:26 pm

hmmm when did you send it? Don’t see it, re-send. Golf has been great but I’m taking a few days off my right lat is giving me trouble.

Opening Day at Del Mar was great. Couple longshots came in too—2 separate 18-1 winners for Kent Desormeaux and Mario Gutierrez and 12-1 winner for Abel Cedillo in feature $100K Runhappy Oceanside. That was great race on turf, horse went wide on outside to win by nose at wire over Rispoli’s mount.

Christina Blacker did trackside interview with Drayden van Dyke, back after riding in Kentucky. Standing alongside her, you see size of these guys who are such amazing athletes. They to use upper body and legs at 110 lbs to guide and control 1000 lb horse bred to run mile in little over minute and a half, in middle of group full of them.

glad to see you’ve studied this enough to see what type of athletes they are. And Jess Pyfer has really surprised me, she is very talented.

I’ve been everywhere man, I’ve been everywhere man!!

i still look at a LU like this and shake my head, “these guys suck”. But they don’t. And I still don’t understand why…..

      • zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 1:46 pm

As the old saying goes, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Truly a team effort.

      • snarkk said, on July 17, 2021 at 1:56 pm

They pitch; they catch; they hit home runs.
KNBR today said 52% of Giants runs are the result of HRs.
        I can’t believe it’s that low…

      • willedav said, on July 17, 2021 at 1:59 pm

Think I read record with Casali starting is something like 25-6. who knew?

  6. willedav said, on July 17, 2021 at 1:58 pm

that is interesting–missing Longoria Belt Crawford and Posey. Sum of the parts though. Z talked about potential trades and mentioned not upsetting team chemistry. Said in past he’s brought guys in who didn’t fit (must have been different teams) and he said it’s something to be aware of, despite whatever numbers someone has.

    • zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 2:48 pm

Yeah, the entire old four core are out injured right now.

      • zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 2:50 pm

It’s a really big blow to Belt in a contract year.

      • James said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:11 pm

Watch out, if no one else is interested, Brandon might take one for the team, breaking the spirit of the suffering masses yearning to be free of him at last …. 👹

  7. willedav said, on July 17, 2021 at 2:21 pm

flavien Prat wins Grade 1 UN at Monmouth.

  8. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:06 pm

Fuck Belt. I’m officially done with him. Flores, Ruf, Casali, anyone can put up better numbers than Belt. Every year it’s one weird fucking injury after another. Sure, he’s a plus defender, but it is hard to snag line drives from the trainer’s room.

    • alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:36 pm

Bravo Chuck👏 Belt’s countdown has been going on since ST.Covid-19, Mono, oblique strain, hamstrings, shit I’m surprised he can get out of bed with those 15 + feet and not trip and twist an ankle. You still get 3 Bore cores back next year with Longoria’s untradeable contact but the other 2 Posey&Crawford (2A/S) certainly pulled their weight and will be back.

  9. zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:33 pm

Yeah, let’s start the in-game interviews in the second inning because fans just can’t get enough of them.

    • zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:34 pm

I tuned in today to see an Alex Wood interview.

      • zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:35 pm

        This really sucks.

      • zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:36 pm

        I hate interviews with athletes.

  10. alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 4:39 pm

Yeah I always like to hear about how hyper Alex Wood is, and needs to be the 1st player out on the field when they take it..

  11. Macdog said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:08 pm

Damn, the Giants can’t hit this guy.

  15. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:21 pm

Kim is what, 90 seconds between pitches? 2 minutes?

  16. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:22 pm

    The human sweat delay.

  17. Macdog said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:25 pm

Even for a pitcher that was a crap AB.

    • James said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:31 pm

He did get screwed by the ump on strike 2, which was clearly outside. Looking for the curveball again on the 1-1 fastball down the middle.

  18. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:33 pm

    Fuck this.

    • James said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:38 pm

It is frustrating watching this boring ball in play baseball from 45 years ago. The loss might be sealed in well under 3 hours.

  19. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:35 pm

    Waiting for the bomb.

  20. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:46 pm

Fuck. Still pitching to Goldie after all these years.

  21. zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:47 pm

    The obligatory Goldy HR.

  22. Macdog said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:49 pm

    So much for this one.

  23. James said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:52 pm

I’m celebrating the shitty night Arenado is having, at least for now. Don’t call me a doomer.

  24. djloo27 said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:56 pm

    Wilmer shouldn’t be swinging 2-0 on that…

    • James said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:57 pm

And he’s been so good about that this year.

    • James said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:59 pm

      And continues to be.

  25. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 5:59 pm

    Coime on. We’ve had chances.

Cards with some help and Giants score.

  26. zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:01 pm

  27. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:02 pm

    Hey, signs of life.

  29. alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:04 pm

A grave sighting for a run, though I don’t think he gets a RBI..
Now they have something going better late than never..

  30. James said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:07 pm

I guess we wouldn’t want to trade our bullpen for the Cardinals’. Alex Reyes hasn’t blown a save, despite the 32 walks. The only closer who can say that. Remarkable.

  31. alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:10 pm

  35. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:13 pm

Pisses me off to no end that we keep getting beat by Goldie. 2 managers, 50 different pitchers, annnnnd gone.

  36. James said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:13 pm

It is just a total fucking disgrace that a guy throwing 98 gets calls 3 inches off the plate. *That* is baseball’s biggest problem.

    • alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:22 pm

Just a shortage of real good umpires anymore I assume?

    • xoot said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:29 pm

Giants fans have been griping about umpire blunders for nearly 140 years. It’s one of the game’s most sacrosanct traditions.

      • James said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:35 pm

The complaint was more general, but I’ll admit, without a team to root for, baseball would be nothing to me.

  37. alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:13 pm

And just to piss me off more I have to see another fucking Kershaw commercial!!!

  38. djloo27 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:29 pm

Cardinal announcers are so non-descript, it’s like they’re not even there.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I wonder if they even have names…

    • unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:37 pm

Are these the Cards announcers? They are pretty sleep-inducing.

  39. xoot said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:36 pm

    Oh, Donnie Bs

  40. snarkk said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:38 pm

If the Giants had just walked Goldschmidt and Arenado every single AB since they’ve been in the league, I wonder if SF would have been better off?…

    • unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:41 pm

Prolly 10 wins worth. And that’s just Goldie.

    • James said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:41 pm

That’s a pretty awesome question. It could probably be modeled.

  41. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:41 pm

    Flores keeps on keeping on.

  42. willedav said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:42 pm

ha shift gifted Wilmet a hit. Otherwise harmless ground ball to 2b.

  43. alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:42 pm

Cool how about a Kirk Gibson moment Craw…

  44. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:43 pm

  51. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:49 pm

Oh boy. Time for Sockman’s monthly dinger? It’s the wasted opportunities. . .

  52. James said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:50 pm

I wish Estrada had been in nothing’s too close to take mode.

  53. alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:50 pm

    He’s not playing defense though..

  54. snarkk said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:50 pm

Giants should just keep the bat on their shoulders with this guy. If it’s crooked, it’s not a strike…

  55. willedav said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:51 pm

dang breaking ball fooling Giants hitters.

  56. snarkk said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:52 pm

Giants seem to get two guys on with zero outs quite often. Very tough for them to get a run in under that scenario without the HR…

    • alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:55 pm

Yeah balls in the dirt 2 feet from homeplate don’t usually go out..

  57. alleykat69 said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:52 pm

  58. Winder said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:53 pm

Everyone was swinging at junk in the end.

  59. xoot said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:53 pm

Looked like the cards employed almost no shift against Tauchman. What are his zones? He has none.

  60. zumiee said, on July 17, 2021 at 6:55 pm

Someday the outfield will be better than this Slater/Duggar era. That transition is coming.

    • djloo27 said, on July 17, 2021 at 7:38 pm

Is there a Lofton or a Burks available?

  61. Macdog said, on July 17, 2021 at 7:00 pm

Craw was the last real hope but got nothing to hit.

  62. xoot said, on July 17, 2021 at 7:03 pm

Early video of fans fleeing the nats’ game after the shooting is confusing. Not quite a stampede, thank the lard.

  65. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 7:56 pm

Jesus. Why is the response to any kind of nationwide problem to buy a gun?

Guy in GA killed a cashier because she told him to put a mask on. Perfectly acceptable response to some folks in this country.

  66. mrsprtdude said, on July 17, 2021 at 7:58 pm

  67. unca_chuck said, on July 17, 2021 at 8:00 pm

3 guys at the all star game had 16 rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammo. But these are the good people with guns.

  68. Macdog said, on July 17, 2021 at 8:00 pm

The great Booker blew it. Don’t count him out though.

  73. willedav said, on July 17, 2021 at 9:52 pm

Stretch there in 3rd Q when Bucks just didn’t miss–all of them including Jrue who really brought it plus Portis and Connaughton. Both teams have depth though and subs/bench guys contribute enough for Ws.
Think that’s something sets both of them apart–other teams just don’t have as many good players to help superstars.
