A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Bounce Back Win

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 22, 2021

Well it turns out all my handwringing was for nothing. “No trust”, “never forget”….yada yada. It almost seems like the hard lessons from my childhood have no impact on how the Giants play baseball at all! How could that be?

How could this be?

I’m not going to dream about what it would be like to be 3-0 this series. There’s no payoff in dreaming of things that never happened. I still don’t understand how they are doing any of this but I am enjoying the ride. Man, Twinfan would have loved this season, aye?

And some bogus check swing calls that have gone against the Giants of late.

I’m happy that Snarkk got to see two RBI singles in one inning.

    • snarkk said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:26 pm

I missed it, I was eating a late dinner.
But, hey, I’ll gladly catch the highlights.
I love being wrong as long as the Gyros kick Doghair ass, especially in the 9th! …

      • willedav said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:28 pm

lot of late game drama Snarkk. Wasn’t easy.

  26. willedav said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:27 pm

Dogs now 10-13 vs. Giants and Pads.

  27. zumiee said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:32 pm

    That was an amazing series.

  28. Winder said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:34 pm

What a fun series. These guys just don’t quit.

  29. zumiee said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:45 pm

Dodgers can’t use injuries as an excuse; the Giants were missing people, too.

  30. zumiee said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:46 pm

Really surprising what a non-factor Bellinger was.

    • zumiee said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:47 pm

I know he’s missed a lot of games due to injuries, but he looked like he needed more rehab time at AAA.

  31. snarkk said, on July 22, 2021 at 10:48 pm

    Phuckin’ A.
I’m watching the replay on Ruf’s no swing in the 9th.
If he actually makes contact with that, he hits a double. Holy crap, what a break for the Giants.
    Well deserved…

  32. zumiee said, on July 22, 2021 at 11:08 pm

I didn’t notice the non-stretch at the time; and I don’t remember Flem or Krukow mentioning it:
“A fielder’s choice grounder to shortstop Chris Taylor was thrown to a stationary Sheldon Neuse at second base. Originally called the final out of the game at second base, the call was instead overturned on review. Game not over, not by a long shot.
“That play at second base, if we stretch, the game’s over,” Roberts said.”

    • snarkk said, on July 22, 2021 at 11:24 pm

If Neuse stretches out to take the throw at second, the game is over.
Instead, he just stood there like a dope on the bag to take the throw, like he was waiting for the #20 Wilshire bus out to Santa Monica…

The Dodgers won’t have Muncy over the weekend due to paternity leave.
But they might get Betts and Seager back this weekend.
Bauer looks to be done for this season.

  34. Pasalon said, on July 22, 2021 at 11:44 pm

Flavor going to be singing ‘Dreams’ by Van Halen with front man SH all day tomorrow.

  35. unca_chuck said, on July 22, 2021 at 11:56 pm

Muncy’s wife induced her pregnancy so he wouldn’t miss any games vs the Giants.

    • zumiee said, on July 23, 2021 at 12:25 am

Wow- seems a bit over-the-top to me, but obviously it’s their choice.

    A rumor:
“The Cubs want whoever gets Bryant and/or Kimbrel to take Heyward’s contract as well. 2 Years/$44 Million.”

Oh man, there ain’t nobody gonna take on that terrible contract of Heyward.
