Today is David Crosby’s 80th birthday. He released a new album this year. His voice sounds as great as ever. It’s pretty amazing. On this song, Donald Fagan helps out, so that’s why the song sounds so Steely Dan-ish.

2nd woman, in Cincy well over a year ago, filed similar abuse charges and court protection against Bauer as are now pending by a second woman in LA. He’s denied it. No evidence these women knew each other, at this point. So, two different women, split by over a year’s time and half a continent, appear to independently claim similar criminal behavior by this dude. I’m generally not a believer in coincidence, and I’m not starting to do it on this one. How long before the Dodgers cut this guy loose, and void his contract via claim for violation of the morals clause?…

      We could use him!
      We already had “The Groper”
      There’s a precedent!

Longoria is up, playing 3rd tonight…

  14. zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 5:14 pm

“the club activated left-handed pitcher Sammy Long to start against the Rockies while optioning infielder Thairo Estrada to Triple-A Sacramento. Reliever Jay Jackson was placed on the injured list with no designation, but the Giants said he is experiencing side effects after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine shot.”

    • snarkk said, on August 14, 2021 at 5:17 pm

Pre-game convo on radio including Kerry Crowley, apparently seeing Jackson in a good mood in the dugout, strongly suggested the Jackson move has, what one might call, dubious veracity. Giants FO guys are experts at using the rules for making their many roster moves…

      • zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 5:20 pm

        Yeah, possibly creative rostering.

  15. djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 5:18 pm

    2. Kris Bryant (R) RF

    5. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
    6. Brandon Crawford (L) SS

Mets/Dodgers on the MLB Network. I don’t know who the analyst is, but he’s doing a good job. The play by play, on the other hand, is Costas, and that is not awesome.

  17. mrsprtdude said, on August 14, 2021 at 5:26 pm

Go Giants! Enjoy the Flapploza!! I’ll be at the park on sat of labor day weekend for the 1st time in 3 years. Can’t wait!

  18. zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:15 pm

Long is one of those “agony pitchers.”

  19. zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:17 pm

    Good 3-2 pitch to Blackmon.

  20. xoot said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:21 pm

Long won’t last long tonight. Will Longo go long? I’d love that. The Giants bench extends to Sacramento and their W/L record is astonishing.

Also, this Trey Lance guy, he looks talented.

  21. alleykat69 said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:27 pm

80 yard bomb by Trey Lance puts a smile on my face!
This kid is the real deal!!

  22. unca_chuck said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:40 pm

Hasn’t Longo figured out that you run out pop ups?

  23. zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:47 pm

    Krukow said “Longoria was missed.”
    Is that even really true?

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:50 pm

The W-L record without him might be the answer…

  24. alleykat69 said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:53 pm

He would still say that about Mike Tauchman, that’s just Krukow, he says that about everybody..

  25. zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 6:54 pm

On that foul ball by Solano to deep right, I replayed and froze the picture to look for the Flappers; but the freeze-frame was just a little too blurry to see individuals well.

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:05 pm

      Maybe they were ejected already…

      • zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:14 pm

        lulz!

  26. alleykat69 said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:18 pm

Wouldn’t put it pass them, their still nice pubs around there..
Isn’t section 151 Arcade just to the right of the foul pole?
You know what would be cool seats too is that little enclosed lower field area arch /brick spot just in foul territory, maybe holds 10-12?flap knuckleheads..

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:24 pm

      See my 12:29 Kat…

      • alleykat69 said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:38 pm

Oh my bad I missed that post Loo.
Still whatever that cut out area down low
inside the bricks 🧱 by the right of the 309 foul pole probably has cocktail service case they have tables and chairs in it..

  27. djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:42 pm

    Padres no hit…

  28. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:47 pm

Over the years, Longoria’s numbers have been fine, I guess. But I can’t think of any other somewhat significant player that has come aboard and made absolutely no difference to the team. Didn’t make it worse, but also did nothing to make it better. Loo’s 6:50 is spot on. Missed him? Didnt really even notice he was gone. And ‘over the years’, I don’t even know how many years he’s been here, maybe because it often seems like he isn’t. Maybe it’s just me, but I wish Longo was long-gone. This team doesn’t need him. Now that he’s back, maybe he’ll *put up good numbers” and contribute, that would be a good thing. But if he doesn’t, he’ll just be taking at-bats from others who have been performing well and, indeed, making the team better.

    • xoot said, on August 14, 2021 at 7:59 pm

Longo’s ops going into tonight was .892 — close to MVP candidate Crawford’s .904. He’s solid at 3B. Bryant is better, I’d say. But Flores et al are not. I hope he can regain his great start for the stretch.

  29. unca_chuck said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:00 pm

My only reason for wanting Longo in is to get Dick out.

  30. zumiee said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:03 pm

No help again from the over-rated Mets.

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:04 pm

      They’re pretty banged up…

  31. unca_chuck said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:08 pm

I just don’t get runnners not tagging on plays like that. An obvious can of corn and the runner goes 1/4 down the line.

  32. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:09 pm

Agree, Xoot, Longo’s numbers indeed have been fine. I just have no sense that he makes the team better. The players like Flores ‘et al’ don’t have his numbers, yet they all have made this team better. It’s just my sense of it, even if it doesn’t make any sense….

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:21 pm

He make big bucks for the stuff he did for another team.
      Recipe for resentment…

      • PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:25 pm

Yes, maybe. Hey, I’m not pulling for him to fail; he’s rested, he could come on like gang-busters and play at MVP level the rest of the way, which would of course be a good thing and, one would think, make the team better. I’ll be happy to be wrong.

    • unca_chuck said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:23 pm

It ain’t even that. He’s just a nothingburger.

      • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:28 pm

He’s a pretty solid pro – just nothing compelling about him…

      • xoot said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:35 pm

well, he’s definitely not as entertaining in the field as Donnie Bobbles, Dick, or Ruf.

      • unca_chuck said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:35 pm

Not with us. He’s entering belt territory of being a hot tub queen,

  33. djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:33 pm

God forbid an adult catches a foul ball and doesn’t give it to some unknown kid.
What if someone wants to bring it home to their own kid?
    They’re a fuckin villain?

  34. djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:35 pm

    Littell the new Petit?

    • PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:45 pm

  37. alleykat69 said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:51 pm

I can’t stand Muncy, but last night I was on his side after a total idiot Mets fan pointed a green laser in his eyes / face in a critical spot in the game.Real bush league behavior and they could not figure out who it was..

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2021 at 8:54 pm

Maybe it was a Giant fan…

    • unca_chuck said, on August 14, 2021 at 9:04 pm
