Wade Does It Again
I’m embarrassed I once used to refer to this stud as “Lame-onte”. Bombs like that are what make seasons like this one special. It still feels like LA is going to zoom past us. But with guys like Wade doing their thing it’s possible I won’t even notice or care when they do.
That home run was as important as the Tauchman catch vs LA.
The horns are a nice touch.
I like the horns.
I know about him most from the song “That’s How I Got To Memphis.”
Nice song.
Watching a replay of the River Cats game….
6’ 11” Jelle (pronounced “Jelly”) got roughed up in the first inning.
Guess he got himself in a jam…
Yeah like.. What did the one strawberry say to the other Strawberry 🍓??
You have to be pretty fresh to get in this jam…
Ha ha!
The Brett Kavanaugh song.
I get the sense Tom drank a few beers over the years.
And Brett, too.
Davis hit a 2 RBI triple for Sac in the bottom of the first.
Some help from the Mets today. That was a pleasant surprise.
I’m supposed to go Thursday night if it doesn’t fall through…
Very cool!
how could it fall thru, what could happen?
Plenty…
Something called I’m Hurricane Henri the 8th I am,Henri the 8th I am I am.
Nah, it was just a lotta rain.
The wind didn’t even muss my hair…
Estrada got an infield RBI single. I miss that dude.
Jelle, 4 runs in 4 innings so far. A meh performance so far.
He;s the 6’11” guy?
Yes.
He’s not a power pitcher, though. He pitches to contact. Yikes.
You guys have no idea how much Rod Gilbert meant to Ranger fans.
Not just a great player but an ambassador like McCovey.
This one hurts…
True, I’ve never heard of him. Sorry to hear he passed. Our sports heroes are important to us, I know that for sure.
Thank you, Zumiee…
A Brebbia sighting in the Sac game.
Saw yesterday box that Kazmir and Shoemaker allowed 5 runs in 8 inning btw them for Sac. Kazmir let in 3 in first 4, then for last 4 Shoemaker blew 2 run lead before RC’s won game for him bottom 8. Blown save/vulture W.
Bottom line, Giants do not have young pitching on its way up to ML level next year. And other ones are Brebbia aisle, or hurt like Beede, or Corry, or Tristan Beck whom they got from Braves in Melancon trade.
I watched part of the Sac game last night. Thairo and Dubie up the middle and Dubie made two spectacular plays. The announcer kept saying “that’s a big league play” and the colorless color man JT Snow said “yes it was, yes it was” — over and over. Vosler was in the OF, along with Heliot in RF (he hit a HR but misplayed a drive over his head). The bad camera angles and dumb announcing probably added to the pathos, but damn was it sad seeing those guys labor in the valley heat, hoping for a break. I guess Bart was sweating on the bench — didn’t hear his name. With all that talent, the River Cats are dead last in their division, far out of contention. How do those guys stay focused, ready to be called up?
The Giants definitely got screwed by the new 28 man Sept. limit.
Loo, I feel your pain about Gilbert. He was retired by the time I moved to Boston, when I saw the Rangers come in to play at the Garden for many years (Messier era), but as a teen I watched hockey a lot (mostly the Bullies of Broad Street since Philly TV was mostly what we got)… would turn off the sound, smoke a little weed, and put on some music… always respected the Rangers of y’ore. Gilbert… Ratelle… those guys seemed like artists on ice.
To me, it looks like Ramos has lost a little weight. Not quite as chunky.
He promptly hits a 2-run single.
Braden Bishop hits a towering 2-run HR to left field.
A Gott sighting.
Sorry about Gilbert, Loo. I hope you didn’t see the Ch. 7 sports guy mispronounce his last name (he later apologized).
Nice running catch by Estrada to end it. Sac defeated Tacoma 7-5 today.
Who’s the “color” announcer for the Giants? Lopez? Everytime I hear him, it reminds me of Chris Collingsworth, the accent, even the mannerisms. Odd.
Cris Collinsworth. Geez, can’t even get the name right.
While speeding down the freeway waiting to hear a live traffic report on Bloomberg radio the other day, I heard a business of sports interview with Collinsworth, who bought a sort of football sabrmetrics firm back in the mid oughts and made a killing when the NY Giants used their analysis to beat the brady patriots in the super bowl. Now he’s a mogul two times over. shouldn’t that be some sort of conflict of interest?
Lopez was OK I thought. He’s just so low key and laconic. When Giants do something exciting, Miller and Kuiper are fired up and their voices rise to occasion. Lopez does not and sounds more like friendly grandparent than the others though they are a generation older.
