San Die(go-away)
San Diego continues to offer zero resistance and at this point Tingler should be checking the want ads for 2022. Personally I would love to see Bochy managing them. What a story line that would be and we’d get to play him 18 times a year. That would be fun I just doubt he’d want to fire it up again but who knows? La Russa did.
Big time hitting weather today gents. It’s hot and the wind is blowing out double digits. Rocket launch time, I hope NASA is ready to track some bombs….
Kotter rolling out same line up as yesterday.
Wonder if Belt stays with the duct tape “C”
Could definitely see Bochy taking over Pads next season if they go nowhere.
I think it’s exactly what he wants to do and he’s about 6 years younger than LaRussa…
1. Tommy La Stella (L) 2B
2. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
3. Buster Posey (R) C
4. LaMonte Wade Jr. (L) RF
5. Kris Bryant (R) LF
6. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
7. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
8. Mike Yastrzemski (L) CF
9. Kevin Gausman (L) P
Yeah fighting Ducks matriculate football 99 yds for TD. 7-0 in Columbus.
Urias wiped them out. Hitting seems big issue for SD. Tingler looks like Kap clone. Don’t think he’s the problem but might be fall guy.
Slush says Wilmet to be in lineup tomorrow. Also that Littell had 1 AB since HS and doesn’t take BP either. Said his bat, “looked like it had a hit in it.”
Zack Littell has appeared in 93 consecutive games without being tagged with a loss.
Wonder what the record is?
Kapler joked about Captain Belt,Well he’s Captain of something I guess?
Also mentioned that the duck tape C looked like it was bootlegged…
Not baseball related..So I’m sitting outdoors in my backyard just chillin with a coffee ☕️on my patio chair and this one fucking fly 🪰 just wants to buzz my ear!! They have a whole world of space but know they have to be irritating little fucks!!!
Get a can of Raid.
I like the Wrigley outfield basket, but I’m not completely sure I get the purpose.
Something to do with limiting fan interference I suppose.
Right field at Oracle seems like a good place for it…
Sure would be a better idea at Oracle with that green tin scenario..
They probably don’t want Row 1 drunken fans trying to get into the basket to retrieve balls and then fall 25′ onto the field…
Not a great start by Gausman but the DP kept it to 1run atleast..
LaStellar!
Clutch AB and hit with RISP by LaStella — about time he gets some offense going…
Way to go LaStella!
Huge 2 out hit for 2 runs!
Belt is friggin’ en fuego — go Captain ! …
Captain Belted…
Yeah baby Belt says I don’t need the C to succeed!!
Ride Captain ride aboard my mystery ship..
That’s 2 Ks with man on 3rd for Yaz.
Why not put Duggar in for him for a couple of games. Duggar at least seems to make contact.
Yaz can’t lay off high pitches, and the oppo knows it…
I think the ump called a couple of high strikes also.
Duggar K’d five times in his last two games….
I’d still take him over Yaz right now.
Yaz has been on a K and low contact streak for weeks.
Duggar was hot in Denver…
Shootout between Ducks and OSU…
Gyros defense not helping this inning…
After butchering that flyball I’m all in for a Duggar start tomorrow over Yaz that was the 3rd out and now the Cubs just got 2 runs out of it..
#3OSU season for the National Championship basically over as #12 Oregon takes them down in their house!!35-28!!
Good news for Pac12.
Tough to win at the Horseshoe…
Cubs dinkin’ and dunkin’ here…
Need to add on…
Congrats to the Ducks and the Pac 12.
LOL. Well, take em however the hell you can get em!
OK, here’s Yaz up again, bags loaded.
Let’s see what happens, he’s got to get a man in…
Yes to Yaz, he gets it done ! …
Yeah baby…nice poke by Yaz to bring in two!
The pretty poor Team pitching stats on the Cubs weren’t a mirage.
They’re not very good…
LaStellar Bombs away!
LaStella getting in a groove !
Gyros have hitting shoes on now.
Long may it last the rest of the season…
Tommy bomb!
Stomp their guts out!
I just realized that right field scoreboard makes it almost impossible to hit one outta Wrigley to right field and onto Sheffield avenue, ala Will Clark in the ’89 NLCS. That’s kind of a bummer. I wonder if part of that was to screw with the property holders across the street who have those seating areas on their roofs. There were lawsuits for years over those businesses. In the MLB site vid of the home run you can see blue seats across the street totally empty on the right of the scoreboard…
A little Wiki research showed that the Ricketts family that owns the Cubs has now successfully bought out most of the property owners on Waveland and Sheffiled, so now they own almost all those “Wrigley Rooftops”. The Ricketts family is known for various forms of douchebaggery and one is a governor of Nebraska and avowed follower of “the former guy”…
5 RBI’s for LaStella a personal best in a game!
This team is a juggernaut right now.U can rest the BP all they want which is a bonus in blowouts. Give Gausman 6 innings tops and hand it over to the pen for easy cleanup..
Is Castro still with the team?
Who can keep track?
Castro is still on the active roster according to sfgiants.com …
Yes Castro still there there carrying 15 pitchers right now crazy but only 3 starters Gausman,Disco and Webb lots of opener options..
Gausman just passed 200 Ks for the season.
His first season doing that…
Brothers grim.
I’m up for a Brebbia appearance under these conditions…
Nice win!!!
Six in a row! Series win at Wrigley!
Krukow would be right to do his horselaugh and “just another — laugher” on this one.
Giants are firing on all cylinders, but shoot — how did Cubs just win 7 straight or whatever? They’re pitching is not good. 11 walks issued today — you’re gonna get smoked when you give that many walks…
old school save by Baragar. 3 innings.
Webb could throw a no hitter tomorrow against these chumps..
Ruf getting a nice rest in Chitown, and hasn’t played a whole game since Monday.
Great win today, and go Padres tonight.

It would be very nice to have the division won before the last weekend of the season. The Dodgers play the Brewers at the end, and the Brewers will likely have nothing to play for that weekend. Their position in the playoffs will likely be set by then.
Yaha Arkansas doinks FG in off upright for 16-0 lead over Texas
wilco Joe not gonna like this
These guys want in SEC, yet can’t win conference they are already in. The old SWC was one great league, especially for football and greedy horns ruined it.
The baseball media’s Jeter-gasm seems to be fading out a bit finally. It got pretty embarrassing, actually.
And Larry Walker? That’s a Hall of Fame career? Whatever. The Hall is not particularly riveting topic anyway.
I’m saying the odds are 95% that Bochy is managing the Padres next season.
Seems unfair. Pads have exact same record Braves do, tied for 4th best in league. Injuries to pitchers and Tatis Jr have done them in. Maybe they do need couple guys off Kap’s hitting coach mafia 🙂
Tinglers fault projections were so high? What about guys Preller has acquired, and given away…let alone overpay for Hosmer and Myers.
There’s potential for major carnage in the managing ranks after the season. Padres, D-Backs, Rockies, Yankees, Mets, and some others.
33-7 now. Guess Wilco blowing up Twitter. Too bad,his posts here so few and far between.
Been a Longhorns fan all my life, but the program has progressively gotten worse. They have had terrible recruiting classes compared to other programs and now hiring Sarkisien I don’t see it, can’t stand that guy and his whole sketchy past!!
Padres for sure need a new manager. Bochy’s restless it’s still in his blood to return, plus doesn’t he still live in SD?Yes they have certainly had their share of injuries, but their still to much talent on the roster to be fighting for wild card spot, Tingler takes the fall.Same goes for Toronto’s manager Montoya with the talent they have just not getting it done..
Rojas gone, Lovello, definitely gone,Boone,Yanks will stay
Maybe the Cleveland manager takes the fall for his team getting no-hit 3 times this season.
Yes, Bochy still has a place in the SD area. Also in Nashville. Splits time between the two.
Thanks, Loo.
The 9th no-hitter this season, which is a new MLB record, surprises no one. HR-derby-ball makes for a lot of no-hitters.
The Padres just get beat down by the Dodgers every season. Part of it has to be psychological. They don’t fully believe they can deal with the Dodgers.
They won 7 of first 10 or 11 vs LA. It’s after deadline they have fallen apart
Every season.
Geez poor Zach Plesac he was starting pitcher/ loser in all 3 no hitters thrown against Cleveland this year.Doubt any other pitcher will touch that in dubious record..
Jim Perry(Gaylord’s brother) had 3 against him in the 70’s but not in the same year..
I’m upping the percentage to a 99% chance Bochy is managing the Padres next season.
Padres scored a couple of runs off Treinen. At least that was something.
The ump ripped off Muncy on a strike 3 call. That was cool.
Stanford looking sharp 1st half up 21-10 over USC
Big plays by their QB Tanner McKee 9-11 151 yards 2 TD’s
and a 87 yard TD run by Peat..
Now a pick-6 and it’s 28-13.
Oh hell let’s make it 35-13 on a McKee sneaker
Just blowing up USC in every department..
