Chop Chop!
Interesting that Lynch didn’t get a single vote—the man responsible for overseeing multiple terrible drafts gets a pass? Ok then….
Gotta hand it to Anderson last night, he had the elements in his favor but he still needed to perform. Did Rosario get any shit for not diving for that ball to keep the no hitter in tact? I had the game on mute so I couldn’t tell.
Sounds like our old friend Drew Smyly is going to get the ball at some point in tonight’s game. How great would it be to see him put these suckers in a 3-1 hole? Dusty, who I love, looks terrible in those black gloves, btw. Looks like he’s about to clean a kitchen sink or some shit. I know, I know, Covid, but that’s not how Covid is spread. He looks like a dope wearing those things.
@Loo hope you feel better. Couple people have told me booster hit them harder than both reg vaccines and felt affects for couple days. But soon did recover and got back to normal.
Um, hydrate with beverage(s) of choice.
gotta admit, i don’t drink Dr. Pepper but those Fansville commercials are pretty good.
Thanks Willie,
Already a lot better…
I would pass on that McRib sandwich Loo, it would make me feel worse then the booster!
Yeah Rosario should of made that catch, it hung up and any dive and he would of had it.His only defense was SS Swanson on a possible collision course before veering off last second that might of freaked out Rosario but still with a no hitter on the line you lay out..
I got the Pfizer booster shot. I had a similar reaction to the second shot I got: a few brief small hot flashes that night, but that was all.
The vast majority of the people getting decimated by the virus now are the unvaccinated, of course.
the second shit ruined me. I was down for 2 days. Then it went away in a nano second it was the weirdest thing. Anyway, I’ll get the booster, probably when i get back from Del Mar and definitely scheduled for a Friday
I guess I got lucky I never felt anything with the first two or the booster of Pfizer.
I have the World Series on, but it’s so hard for me to get into it. The book I’m reading is holding my interest much more. I discovered the career of Mary Beard, a Roman Empire historian, and she’s terrific. I’m not a big Roman history buff, but her books and documentaries are so interesting and engaging. She combines great research with a modern and kind of hip approach to presenting the material.
I’m watching, but waited turning it on until after the former guy made his entrance.
Just finished the book, The Bona Fide Legend of Cool Papa Bell. A well researched book, I was able to pick up some great info on Cool and the Negro leagues that I didn’t know about before. Right now I’m reading, San Francisco Year Zero: Political Upheaval, Punk Rock and a Third Place Baseball Team. Great stuff for late 70s SF. Murder, mayhem, mass suicides and Giants baseball , what more could you ask for?
Bozo, is the coffee table book you mentioned the other day about the earthquake series called “Three Weeks In October”? If so, I have it and would gladly send it to you. Maybe you’re in it somewhere?
If you want, you can e-mail me your address at: barn1661@yahoo.com
It’s easier than you sending me a coffee table…
That is the book, Loo. I appreciate the offer but I still have my copy and no, I’m not in it, the bastard!
I got the Pfizer booster in the afternoon a few weeks ago, the next afternoon I felt tired and little crappy, took a nap for a few hours early evening and that helped out. That was it. Earlier summer I got two Shingles shots about 2 1/2 months apart, both kicked my ass for a day. I read where those shots are from partially disabled viruses, that’s probably why your immune system says, “Uh Oh”, some bad shit just got on board”, and it’s red alert. Now, I’m lined up next week for the flu shot — I’m getting the high dose shot, because due to some lung issues, when I get the flu it’s bad news. High dose means you not only get extra vaccine, but an additional and 4th flu type compared to the normal 3. I’m under 65, but my lady doctor agrees to prescribe it for me. I got an appointment for the immunization clinic, and said I’ve got MD orders to get the high dose, and clinic said they couldn’t guarantee they’d have high dose available when I was there, so I said WTF, and now I had to schedule the shot in my doctor’s office so I don’t waste a visit to the immunization clinic. An extra 20 miles RT drive. Plus, insurance through my work may not pay for the high dose shot since I’m not yet 65. This medical stuff these days is just total BS…
I only got the booster so you would like me…
I worked all afternoon on my front porch cleaning it off for winter and putting some masonry preservative on all the rock and steps, so after finishing I mixed a nice Makers whisky sour. Now, I’m mixing up my own Booster. I don’t have to wait 6 months for this one…
How do you not swing at that pitch?
Dusty used to look cool with the SF wristbands…
Moderna booster after the J&J, which just got me through 6 weeks in the UK … although that might have had more to do with the vaccination rate there and where we were hanging out. The booster had no negative effect.
Mary Beard, listened to her 2021 Sather lecture a few months ago. Pretty great. She’s a popularizer who hasn’t lost a bit of academic cred.
Eddie Rosario, God I truly hate when players like him do well in the playoffs. Fuck Eddie Rosario and every slightly above average hacker like him (except Pablo).
The good news for other teams is that if your top players all came together to play a 7 game series they would very likely fall apart and lose. That’s not a putdown. We all believe in OPS. But in a game, or 7 games, nobody cares, including OPS. It’s whatever you’re bringing in that moment. And I’ll take a moment over any boring ass shit that pumps up OPS….
That’s cool, but it has absolutely fucking nothing to do with the psychological “worth” of the players. It is purely about the rules of the game and chance. There was a time when teams like the Braves didn’t make the playoffs. The Giants had teams during those times that could easily have won a WS.
That’s the type of booster shot I believe in!🥃
Working on my booster as well Buffalo Trace 2 cubes..🥃🧊🧊
Nice…
Dusty still working the toothpicks after all these years, you would think he would have wooden teeth by now?
love all the booster talk, keep it coming. Good info
I got the Pfizer booster a few weeks ago, I had a sore arm for a day or so, about the same soreness as the flu shot that I had gotten a week before that.
Stros had a lot of stranded RISP early, that’s usually not a good thing…
Oh man, back to back.
Which flashback is Dusty having?
Is Russ Ortiz at the game?
Braves are supplying their own booster shots!
Back to back jacks for the lead..
Where was this 1st base ump for the Giants series?
Doesn’t look like the chop is going anywhere…
Atlanta is generally considered a horseshit sports town…
I’m still peeved about the huge lead the Falcons blew against the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Fun Beatles facts:
The new re-release Let It Be box-set just entered the Billboard Top 10 album chart.
Katie Perry is singing “All You Need Is Love” in a commercial.
There’s a great cover version of Come Together in the Cruella animated film.
Lukas Nelson does a great job singing All Things Must Pass on the recent album he made with his dad Willie and other members of the Nelson family.
Very nice, in my opinion.
I’ll dedicate it to the Dodgers, whose recent “dynasty” may already be passing.
“Mary Beard, listened to her 2021 Sather lecture a few months ago.”
Hey, that’s on YouTube. Cool!
