Shocking Niner Win

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on November 16, 2021

If I’ve learned one thing over the years it’s when not to bet. If something looks like a sure thing, ESPECIALLY if the public supports it, either go the other way or don’t bet. Everyone was hammering the Rams last night and if you had asked me for a line from Big Flavor Inc. I would have started at 10.5. I didn’t have the sack required the bet SF but I had no problem sitting that one out last night and just enjoying the game.

One thing that’s been proven as fact so far this season is that there is no dominant team in the NFL and the only team that isn’t competitive is Houston.

The Niners looked like a completely different team than the one that took an embarrassing drubbing at the hands of the underwhelming Colt McCoy.

And that gents is why I love sports. You just never know what’s going to happen.

The Niners actually looked like they had an offensive game plan last night. Why that was not the case the week before against AZ is beyond me and inexcusable for a coach. Can they put some wins together now and defense steps up.

Kyle over and over and over has given up on the run to early repeatedly throughout this season. He didn’t yesterday.

Chris Taylor rejected Dogs QO, likely looking for more years in next contract. Solid if unspectacular player, can play anywhere though hardly elite at any position. Could cover CF or back up SS for SF and bring some RH pop. K rate has increased, did hit fewer groundballs/more flyballs last season, and pulled ball more going for power.
Turned 31 this past August…seems to be even keel guy and much less annoying than teammates. 3yrs/$45-$50mil?

Agree. I mentioned the pool I run yesterday (we pick against the spread). Last night everyone in the pool had the lambs. Five straight the Niners have beat them. And they finally got off the snide on winning at home (cannot remember the last home win, but it was a long time ago).

The game last night is more in line with the potential the Niners have, IMO. They are definitely better than the team who got their asses handed to them by the Cards a week ago.

Hoping this is something on which they can build and rattle of a four or five game win streak. Why not? The Pats just ran off four straight after starting the season at 2-4. Let’s Go!

It was the Rams last year as well. October 18.

I knew it had been a long time.

I don’t know how anyone on the planet could still be alive in a knockout pool.
Glad I gave up on those…

Syndergaard to the Angels 1Y $21M, topping the Mets’ 1Y $18M QO.

Wow. He would have looked good in Orange and Black.

The Angels? Jesus. They have the 2 best players on the planet and still suck balls.Maybe they’ll reach .500 now.

It was great watching how the OL including Kittle who knocked Von Miller completely pancaked him on his ass on 19 problems Deebo run. They physically punched the Rams in the mouth all night winning one on one battles.
Clean pocket for Jimmy on most of his throws,a 44 rushing play attack, Jimmy 15-19 throwing, and using Deebo in the backfield,( great game planning) which seemed like Rams weren’t expecting, getting Kittle,Deebo,Aiyuk,Mitchell all involved and productive and now 5 straight wins for Kyle over McVay can’t be ruled a fluke now even if 4 were against a useless Goff.Nice to have Wilson back as well running hard, though don’t take too many carries away from my boy Mitchell who’s one of my FF starters and needs to be fed a lot..

If Mitchel had only scored a TD I would have won my ff game.

I still don’t get how this team can look so good one game and look so bad for a bunch of others. I guess we match up well, but this team seemingly neutralizes Aaron Donald at will while other teams can’t even come close to doing that.

Very surprised at how well the 49ers ran. And that Kyle stuck with it. Deebo in the backfield was a wrinkle no one saw and it worked out well.

Kudos to Shanny for scheming new plays and actually calling and executing a solid game plan.

Still alarmed at the lack of pass rush. Ryans needs to do more that trot out the base defense 90% of the time. Where is Charles Omehinu? Lenoir and Thomas barely saw the field as well.

I had given up on the Niners after last weeks play against AZ. Loved the way we played last night but we have played dead in so many games that I am not even close to saying ‘we’re back’. It sure does help when we get a couple of turnovers and don’t give the ball up ourselves. Definitely the best game we played all year. Hope we can keep it up.
I wonder if we were in on Syndergaard.

    • chipower9 said, on November 16, 2021 at 12:22 pm

I tried to find anything about the Giants kicking the tires on Syndergaard, but found nothing. But given pitching (esp. starters) are our priority, hard to image that Z did not inquire. I believe there is also a 2nd round pick involved in the signing….

      • Winder said, on November 16, 2021 at 1:02 pm

Thanks. I bet we kicked the tires.

Damm the 49ers can never get over the injury jinx even in a win.
RB Elijah Mitchell is having surgery today for a fractured finger, availability against Jaguars to be determined later in the week.So come on down Jeff Wilson( a Shanny favorite)for the possible heavy lifting at RB since the hologram Sermon doesn’t see the field anyway..

    • Winder said, on November 16, 2021 at 2:44 pm

Kat I read that there is a possibility he plays this week.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Elijah Mitchell suffered a broken finger in Monday night’s win over the Rams.
Shanahan also said he is “hoping [Mitchell] has a chance to practice tomorrow and be able to play” on Sunday against Jacksonville since the team’s doctors are “optimistic” on Mitchell’s outlook. His availability throughout the week will be telling. Handed 10 carries as Mitchell’s backup Monday night, Jeff Wilson should be prioritized in fantasy leagues since he would undoubtedly be used over Trey Sermon if Mitchell can’t go.

More of what I don’t get. They trade up for Sermon and he’s now perpetually in the dog house.

Kapler won the MOY award 28-2. I don’t see how that was not unanimous…

Those other two first-place votes were ridiculous. The Cardinals’ guy got one, and got fired. The other one was for the Brewers’ guy, Counsell. Was anyone dazzled by the Brewers this season?

Pretty cool to see the crowd cheering for Steph.

Meanwhile, nice to see Seton Hall go into AA and knock off Michigan, 32 years after getting screwed in the NCAA final.
