Kept seeing the ads on Peacock but did not realize it was a series…

Will have to check it out now. Curry and Poole have really gone cold. But as we all know we go the way Dray goes. No Dray no consistency…

Yeah, you can stream it from Peacock.

    The defense disappears w/o Dray.

    • Lurker John said, on January 12, 2022 at 7:21 am

The offense too it seems. He’s a huge part of that team, offense, defense, rebounding.

I just checked, the first episode can be streamed from Peacock. Looks like it may be a multi-episode documentary, but I’m not sure how many. I’ll watch it later. Looks pretty cool, but I think anything involving Joe is cool, which makes me a 49ers geek.

      And Google reveals it’s a 6-part series. That’s awesome.

When Maddon got to the pearly gates, St. Peter took him directly to heaven’s football stadium. Maddon saw there was a game being played by all the great deceased players, he was shocked when he notices number 16 under center.
“Wait, did Joe Montana die?” he asked, “Nah, that’s God, sometimes he likes to pretend he’s Montana” replied St. Peter.

        lol!

        Luv that.
Probably like most Niner fans of a certain age, I often say in some football convo that “Joe is God”.
        Even God agrees.
Hard to believe the Catch was 40 years ago. What a great time to be a Niner fan…

Curry has been subpar for many weeks. It’s not just that he’s cold. He’s missing layups and shots that look kinda like Steve Sax throwing to first base. No one’s really calling it out, because he’s The Greatest Shooter of All Time.

    • willedav said, on January 12, 2022 at 8:53 am

Agreed, and he missed an FT when fouled shooting a 3. What cost them last night, as in other games, were rash of turnovers-bad passes and bad decisions on what to do with ball that led to large edge in transition hoops; this happens even with Green in there.
Plus, I give credit to Griz non Morant guys Tyus Jones and Stanford one and done guy Ziaire Williams for hitting 3s. Also like their post Jarren Jackson Jr. who hit couple shots in lane and blocked a Curry layup in tension filled 4th. Memphis is cool team to watch and they definitely have Warriors attention.

      • James said, on January 12, 2022 at 9:09 am

He shot 2 more air balls last night. He’s probably had more of those the last couple of months than he’s had in all his prior seasons.

    • willedav said, on January 12, 2022 at 9:01 am

James, I asked a coaching buddy of mine whom I respect a lot about this. He said it seemed fatigue related, like he was pressing, but still wasn’t sure exactly why shot has been off. There were couple airballed 3s last night, just not like him.

      • James said, on January 12, 2022 at 9:12 am

See above. It has been like him for weeks now, unfortunately. The record chase ended a while ago.

      • willedav said, on January 12, 2022 at 9:33 am

Yes that seemed to be when it started and he admitted he was chasing shots then to get past Ray Allen. And yet, slump has continued. Thing is, he was easily blowing by rookie Z Williams (dunno why Griz did that) and getting clean looks from outside. “Steve Sax throwing to first base” was good one.

I have seen the first two episodes of the Montana docuseries. Good stuff. It might be worthwhile to just join Peacock for a couple of months just to see it. They are cheaper than most of the other streaming services. You can cancel at any time.

Steph should take a few days off. Chasing the best record does no good. He is pressing it looks like. Then again everyone yesterday was missing shit. Funny to me was Wiggins missing an uncontested layup as the clock ran out.

Then again, Wiggins continues to piss me off with his start strong, fade down the stretch and then hologram in the 4th quarter. Over and over. He rarey plays big in the 4th quarter.

  8. snarkk said, on January 12, 2022 at 12:52 pm

Maybe Steph has a nagging injury of some type, not bad enough to miss some games, but enough to be bothersome…

  9. willedav said, on January 12, 2022 at 2:54 pm

About only thing Wiggins is guilty of imo is being too unselfish, unlike 99% of NBA shooters/scorers. Last night he took 12 shots in 33 minutes (hitting 5) and hit team high 3 three pointers out of 6. Rest of his team went 10-30 from 3 and Curry was 2-9. As for 4th Q, Kerr never starts him there, it’s Curry and 4 subs. Last night by end of game Wiggins was in there with Curry and Thompson, who are always gonna be options 1 and 2. No one is screening for him.
He did have team high 4 turnovers, which was a major problem for team last night. Memphis was just better all around, and their bench guys outplayed GS, something that rarely happens.

    • James said, on January 12, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Love the defense of Wiggins, if only he wasn’t an anti-vax dumbshit.

Jan 12 1969 Broadway Joe wins it all for Jets at SB #3 in Orange Bowl in game he guaranteed couple days earlier underdog Jets would beat Colts. Talk about iconic superstars, wow. And he’s still making commercials, albeit for Medicare Insurance providers.
fun fact: safety Bill Baird off that team coached PE at my HS (Fremont of Sunnyvale) second semester that same year. Couldn’t believe how big he was. We all wanted to know if Sherman Plunkett really weighed 330 lbs.

    • alleykat69 said, on January 12, 2022 at 5:06 pm

Did Bill Baird ever confess his weight are maybe he was afraid to get the shit beaten out of him?
Nowadays they probably use a cattle hook scale and straps to weigh these huge OL/DL players!

I think it will take a while for Dubs to digest Klay coming back. That’s not a surprise. His presence changes rotations and playing time for a bunch of players. They’ll have to learn how to play with him. If Wiseman ever shows up, same thing, although I doubt this season he’ll get much playing time except in fits and starts, if he does eventually show up. I don’t see why they would not just play him in the G league for a bunch of games. He just needs game reps. The guy has hardly played in a real game for 2+ years, I think…

  12. willedav said, on January 12, 2022 at 5:30 pm

I didn’t see Sunday debut, but last night Thompson looked fine in starting lineup. He took 13 shots in 19 minutes, hit 5 of them and went 2-5 from 3, scoring 14 points. He put ball on the floor and created pull up shots for himself, and knocked down corner 3 to end first half. Once Green is back, starting group is solid. Learning to play with him won’t be an issue for Green and Curry.
Issue is going to be for bench guys who get reduced minutes, like Poole and Payton, and how Kerr deals with it.

Wiseman is just about ready, a very good thing. He will add finishing touch at rim level and a D presence inside at other end. too often, when Looney screens for Curry, his man leaves him to double team. Curry will pass off to Looney, but outside of 2ft he won’t shoot and has to make another pass. There is a reason he is always wide open–teams know he isn’t gonna shoot. Wiseman by contrast is fine midrange shooter who will score himself. Plus they can run screen and roll with him, and he can dunk off that easily.

Give him 15 minutes off bench to back up Looney he will definitely be a plus addition, at both ends.

    • James said, on January 12, 2022 at 9:15 pm

If I cared as much about basketball as I do baseball, I’d probably appreciate Looney more. When he misses those one footers as he’s being fouled I get as angry as BF watching Belt hit. How can a dude that big miss so many shots right under the rim whenever someone touches him?

Kings defeated the Lakers! That’s twice this season now. Kings fans take their good moments where they can.

    Wiggins points per quarter:

    1st- 206
    2nd-137
    3rd-152
    4th-103

Pretty big drop if you ask me. If Wiggins had GP II’s drive, he’d be the best player in the league.
