Embarrassing Loss
Last night is a great example of why I am so happy it’s still not legal to bet on sports in California. Indiana was missing everyone: Sabonis, Brogden, Levert and Turner. The Dubs were locked and loaded with their guys. And at home. I watched the line slowly climb starting at 9. Then 11. Pacers guys were taking *out* tags all day long. The line hit 14. I was like *Damn! I could have had that at 9!*. I think it finally settled around -17.
Then Indiana goes and wins in overtime. LOL. Their collection of hodge podge journeymen and triers shot 43% from splashland while the splashers themselves shot 21% from the same distance. Klay and Wiggy themselves went 1-13.
No sport is weirder or wilder than the NBA in terms of random mid season outcomes….
Yeah that was surprising. Chris Duarte from Oregon is for real and he had good game. I was switching back n forth btw Arizona-Stanford (Cards suck) and USF at Zags (Dons good but overmatched) and no name Pacers kept staying in there. What happened to Kuminga? He started and then I don’t remember seeing him in 4th/OT.
Bottom line, Curry messed up on end of regulation 3 Pacers hit to tie in last seconds.
Thanks to Unc for that pic of Nate the Great and Kareem. Very fair choice for Abdul Jabbar to be GOAT, but when Kareem was on Bucks I’d say Thurmond defended him as well as anyone.
Yeah, with 3 seconds left, the Warriors could have fouled their forward. Instead, he passed to Duarte (good looking kid) for the tieing 3. Dumb. The Warriors scored something like 70 points in the paint so naturally they keep jacking 3’s. 9-42!!! Was wondering why they went away from Kuminga as well
Both Chamberlain and Kareem gave Nate his props for being the toughest defender they faced. When they had Attles and Thurmond out there, the Warriors were pretty damn tough..
I never heard of some of the Pacers who got in there. Starter guard Keifer Sykes, who hit go ahead 3 and drove around Andre Iguodala for scoop layup in OT is 28 yr old rookie from Wisconsin Green Bay averaging 8 ppg.
Kerr btw took heat for telling GS not to foul when Pacers were down 3 and had ball on sideout with 9 seconds left. Former Warrior Justin Holliday hit the 3 that tied it after Curry left him alone.
Klay Thompson went 0-7 from 3, Wiggins 1-6 Poole 0-5. Lot of blame to go around. Curry was visibly upset and blew up on bench when Payton went wrong way on a play Curry called that ended when Thompson threw a bad pass to Looney that got intercepted for one of 21 turnovers.
Bizarro play too when Curry hit Payton for a dunk plus foul and the big C Bitadze (who?) head butted Payton after being stared at, and got tossed for his second T. This guy had 13 and 9 with 5 assists before doing this and was having good game.
I’ll never never never understand why coaches don’t play for the foul with less than 8 seconds left and up by 3. They had an easy chance with 2.5 seconds left and didn’t. That Bitatze guy got t-ed up earlier for fucking with Kuminga didn’t he?
Louie Anderson and Meatloaf have passed away.
I’m not kidding…
Reports were Louie choked on some meatloaf.
I’ll do anything for love but I won’t do that.
2 out of 3 . . .?
lol!!
Never saw him but his shows looked like they’d be pretty fun.
Brisbee has had 2 interesting columns in Athletic re: Giants and Suzuki and answering ? from mailbag, one of which asked him how much he thought Giants payroll would be. It starts iirc right around $110-$115 mil. Brisbee thought it wouldn’t go over $130 mil. Other column brought in plus/minus of signing Suzuki, with minus being it might involve bidding war since he fits for a lot of teams.
To me Suzuki reps nice upgrade in talent as RH corner OF. No I don’t expect him to put up 1.000 OPS or hit 38 bombs like he did in J League, but still he should be solid addition to every day lineup. Projected salary numbers I saw were 5 yrs/$60 mil, lot less than Bryant or someone like Story etc.
Meat Loaf: “I won’t get vaccinated for Covid, and nobody can make me do it. I’d rather die than get vaccinated.”
Well, that’s the hill you wanted to literally die on.
Was it COVID?
Yes
It’s harder to predict NBA games nowadays because of all the three-point shots. One team can be real hot that night, and the other one real cold, and that’s the ballgame.
Sure, no one can MAKE another adult get vaccinated for Covid. We all know that and understand individual freedom. But it’s crazy to be unvaccinated during this pandemic. It’s a death-cult type of craziness.
Yeah, stupid is as stupid does.
Wouldn’t it be funny if Fox News reported that they have a zero tolerance vaccine policy for all their employees?
And Directv dropped OANN.
LOL isn’t this the guy who got left in a parking lot a few weeks ago because nobody (including him) knew where he lived?
Raiders in Vegas…wouldn’t they be better off back in Oaktown?
it seems like most of these guys who are getting in trouble are damn fools. Gotta believe non-idiots could play there and not fuck up like this. Shit don’t they have a hockey team and that’s all good? UNLV b-ball playing without massive scandals every year??????
Canadians in general aren’t lunatics.
Raiduhs are stacking up idiot players like the Niners used to do. This moron is doing the DUI and reckless driving bits even after the horrific Henry Ruggs incident that killed a woman? How stupid, clueless can you be?…
I don’t know Willie, didn’t Mike Norris say the bag of coke in his car was because the window was open as he drove through Oakland?
If I was 21 and making $5 mill a year living in Vegas, I’d be hard-pressed to keep myself alive.
And now Clark Gillies dies…
