A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

NFL Blowout Bonanza!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on January 22, 2022

Big weekend of football. I think the Niners get past Green Bay today but only because I see them running successfully. If that doesn’t happen, oh my, this could go the other way fast. As a joke I just asked my daughter if she wanted to watch the game with me. She laughed and said “Who are they playing?” I said “Green Bay.” She goes, “Green Day? They’re playing a band?”

Jesus how did i raise her this way? Oh well, she doesn’t like sports, I can’t complain about that.

And now, without further ado, I am releasing Big Flavor’s 4 game can’t miss parlay!

Tenn ML

Niners ML

Rams ML

Buffalo ML

If that hits, whatever, that won’t hit…..

I like those bets and if they come true we will have home field advantage for the championship. I don’t think Buffalo is gonna win though.

    • Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:38 am

Well, wrong again. We will have to go to LA. I was thinking of a power rating of playoff teams and I believe the Athletic had us higher than the Rams.

  2. Giant Head said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:48 am

Ballsy picks. I am just teasing three of the same four. But teasing Bengals down to +9.5. Two teamed today two tomorrow.

  3. willedav said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:54 am

On ESPN show Around the Horn they asked the question, which QB do you trust the most, out of Rodgers Brady Allen and Mahomes, while also factoring D they were going up against. All of sudden Rams D seems formidable (though Shanahan and G own them), KC and Buffalo better too.
And yet, even with G who is certainly not part of that discussion, Niners have fighting chance if they can get in Rodgers grille, score TDs once in red zone and run football effectively.

  4. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:30 am

Niners can’t afford turnovers and more special team fuckups. Packers don’t commit turnovers. Ball will be slick, and we can expect one Jimmy G pick, minimum. When was the last time there was a positive, big time special teams runback for the Niners?

    • Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 10:26 am

I agree. We have to many flaws for us to dig out of a big hole. You just know Jimmy’s gonna throw at least one. I have really liked the way we have played the last couple of games. It’s like we are playing with a renewed fire. i just hope we can hammer Rogers at least once. This game should be really good. I also like being the underdog in all these games.

  5. alleykat69 said, on January 22, 2022 at 10:06 am

Just want Shanahan not to “Turtle up” in this game and lay it all on the line!
No freaking play in safe and go for 7 instead of 3 on 4th downs and 1-2 yards!
FG’s ain’t gonna cut it against Rodgers and for sure LaFluer learned from his stupid call last year taking the FG late not even for the lead as a pissed off Rodgers never saw the ball again as the Bucs ran out the clock!
It what happen again LaFluer will go for it,and so should Shanahan, there’s no tomorrow go down fighting are win it being aggressive!!!!

  6. Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 10:27 am

It’s rubber hits the road time. Playing it safe probably won’t work but we know that’s what Shanny does.

Nice column in Chron on Davante Adams, b-ball star at Palo Alto HS who only played football last 2 years. Helped along in route running and timing by Steve Bono; Paly ran Walsh West Coast system.
According to column by Eric Branch, inexperienced Adams wasn’t even best receiver coming in on team–it was senior Joc Pederson.

    • djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 11:48 am

Help from Steve Bono is a good thing?
Only slightly better than Sonny Bono…

      • djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 12:03 pm

Somehow Marty went 13-3 with him before playoff nightmare…

      • willedav said, on January 22, 2022 at 5:16 pm

Bono was just HS assistant. Sometimes it’s easier to be an assistant than head guy and you can help individual players more, regardless of how good a player you were.

  8. Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 12:37 pm

Playoff trivia: This will be a record-tying 9th time the Niners and Packers have met in the playoffs. Name the two other teams that have met 9 times in the playoffs.

    • djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:07 pm

      Thought a lot…
      Broncos-Steelers?

      • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:10 pm

        Nope.

      • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:11 pm

        Good guess, though.

      • djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:18 pm

Damn. Trying to come up with 2 old teams who never have long droughts.
        Thought I had it.

    • Irish Kevin said, on January 22, 2022 at 5:58 pm

      Steelers and Raiders

      • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 6:07 pm

        Sorry, no.

  9. Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:31 pm

    More 2-point idiocy.

    • djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:33 pm

      I’ll take one more shot.
      Cowboys-Vikings?

      • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:34 pm

        Excellent guess, but no.

      • djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 2:39 pm

Okay. My money’s on AK69 for the answer…

  10. alleykat69 said, on January 22, 2022 at 3:00 pm

Hmmm I’ll try Patriots and Steelers?

    • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 3:14 pm

      Nope.

  11. Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 4:29 pm

    Niners and the Vikings

    • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 4:32 pm

      Nope.

    • Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 4:35 pm

      Niners and Dallas

      • xoot said, on January 22, 2022 at 5:05 pm

one of the teams has to be dallas, doesn’t it?

      • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 5:26 pm

        Nope, but very good guess.

      • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 5:27 pm

That was in reply to Winder.

  12. Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 4:33 pm

Hey Paul, what was that about the Titans? Haha.

    • willedav said, on January 22, 2022 at 6:09 pm

mm I’d wondered myself if KC-Buffalo wasn’t real SB.

  13. Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 4:40 pm

    I am glad for Cincy.

    • willedav said, on January 22, 2022 at 5:12 pm

Yes. LSU connection btw Burrow and Chase is awesome.

  14. Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 6:30 pm

    Oh no.

  15. Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 6:40 pm

    Crazy 1st half.

  16. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 6:44 pm

Well, the expected horrific pick thrown by JimmyG blows the chance for a TD, and even the 3 points. Hopefully, that’s the obligatory idiotic pick, and he doesn’t throw any more…

  17. Flavor said, on January 22, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Jimmy does 3 extremely dumb things per game. That’s 1. Unfortunately there’s 2 more to come and down 7 this is not a good sign

  18. Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 6:54 pm

    Deebo.

    • xoot said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:03 pm

I think doing everything in near-zero snow on the drive sorta wore him out. But it was all him.

      • Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:20 pm

        Yep.

  19. paul sorensen said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:10 pm

Yeah, John, Titans just seemed like a paper team to me. Though I did think they’d probably at least beat Cincy.

    • paul sorensen said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:11 pm

For some reason, can’t use Facebook to sign in here anymore. Using WordPress now… but Paul is still in Asia, so there’s that.

    • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:14 pm

They did lose to the Jets this season. Bengals too.

  20. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:13 pm

Niner O line getting fairly abused so far in this game on passing downs. Shanahan has to figure out how to not have anything over 3rd and 4…

  21. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:27 pm

These teams pretty even, but the chasm between QB talent is huge…

  22. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:46 pm

    Josh Norman in now, oy…

  23. Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 7:49 pm

  26. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:00 pm

    Just give it to Deebo…

  27. Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:09 pm

  33. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:12 pm

Niner D was just outstanding after the first drive by the Packers.
    Instant classic playoff game…

One of the greatest victories ever!!!

Niners Strike Gould in Green Bay.

    • Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:26 pm

      Good one, Mac.

  36. Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:18 pm

Snarkk gets the trivia answer. Rams-Cowboys 9 times from ’73 to ’18.

    • snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:33 pm

Rams were good a lot, a long time ago…

  37. xoot said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:19 pm

I was sort of self-commiserating before the blocked punt, thinking that the niners had played tough under tough conditions. Then they racked it up a few hundred notches. What a tremendous finish. Deebo and Kittle both left it all on the tundra. Hope they can heal this week.

    What a great win.

  38. Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:27 pm

Has, just good enough to win, been used yet?

  39. Flavor said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:28 pm

i don’t know how many players we got left to play in the NFC Championship game. Will worry about that later. That’s now THREE incredible games in a row for us to watch! Name another 3 game sequence that rolled out like that.

    • Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:29 pm

Yep and 3 teams universally hate by Niner fans. Life is good.

  40. Winder said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:28 pm

    Just Amazing.

  41. Flavor said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:32 pm

    • snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:35 pm

Wow, a special teams unit clearly worse than the Niners’ !
Special Teams won this game, along with Deebo. Deebo is MVP of the Niners, should be of the league….

  42. Flavor said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:36 pm

Yeah Joe Fonzi clearly pissed off lol. One thing icing a kicker, but a sportscaster??

  44. Giant Head said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:42 pm

What a disappointment to watch that amazing win and then turn on awful SNL.

    • Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:48 pm

Huh? I thought it was a pretty good open.

    • xoot said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:53 pm

I’ve never seen more than 30 seconds of fox news, so I was sort of wondering how sharp the satire was. Are they really that bent?

  45. zumiee said, on January 22, 2022 at 8:43 pm

Tough, hard-fought game. Some of the harder hits that I’ve seen in NFL games lately. I think the refs were mostly letting the players play. The face-mask penalty on Mitchell almost cost the game.
Amazing final 5 minutes of the game; everything went right. Everything!

  46. Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:00 pm

No matter who makes it now, this will be the first Super Bowl that won’t have at least one team that had a bye, ever since byes in the playoffs started in ’78 (except ’82 strike year when no playoff team had a bye).

  47. djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:09 pm

I wasn’t too focused on the game.
Does Rodgers deserve a lot of the blame?

    • Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:24 pm

Their Offense had chances to put it away, but our Special Team play beat theirs and Deebo owned the 2nd half. So yes and no?

    • Macdog said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:25 pm

I thought the Niners D was outstanding.

      • Bozo said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:34 pm

        True that.

  48. djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:18 pm

It’s amazing to me that St. Louis apparently can’t support an NFL or an NBA team…

  49. Irish Kevin said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:19 pm

Aaron Rodgers 0-4 in career vs 49ers in playoffs 1st QB to lose 4 playoff gems vs 1 opponent in NFL history!

  50. zumiee said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:30 pm

Worst commercials at the moment: Millenials talking about their Taco Bell food as they’re eating it. They should just be eating their Taco Bell food with the quiet shame that it deserves.

    • djloo27 said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:35 pm

Zum, ya think Rodgers is “spitting out pieces of his broken luck”?

      • zumiee said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:38 pm

        Ha ha!!!! 🙂

      • zumiee said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:39 pm

  51. snarkk said, on January 22, 2022 at 9:43 pm

Packer’s special teams unit had only 10 players on the field on that Gould last second field goal…

Aaron Rodgers threw for 225 tonight – but 75 came on that blown-coverage lob to his back Aaron Jones. He mostly dinks and dunks and looks for quick flips to the NFL’s best receiver, Davante Adams. Overhyped, overrated.
