Flavor Down
Let’s play a game of trying to guess how Big Flavor fractured 2 bones in his back on Thursday….
A) survived a plane crash—tuck and rolled right outta that bad boy
B) Wrastling an alligator (guessing this one will get voted down based on where I live)
C) skydiving mishap
D) fucking falling down at work
And get this: the Dr. says I’m losing a half inch off my height. WTF? So now I’m Medium Flavor? MF. Mother Fuck. This is some bullshit.
Oh man sorry to hear about that. Falls are the worst, and result in so many serious injuries to those of us older than you are.
Um, no if you began the day at 77 inches plus and lost a half inch, no name change necessary.
one word for those contemplating where to live in near future retirement—grandkids. I know those who have moved to be closer to them, and others who are far away for Holidays b-days etc.
OW! That is bad news. Surgery? Or just serious PT/rehab? Anyway, good luck. But why were you skydiving?
because the verts were compressed and didn’t break off they don’t need to do surgery. But I have to wear this stupid fucking brace for 8 weeks. UGH!!!!!!
bad news. But heal up. Rehab with the best PT you can find no matter what your health ins says; sports dude knows what I’m talking about. Don’t stint. Before I was 65 (medicare pays for good PT, btw) I put cervical surgery in the rearview — for a couple of decades, anyway — because I followed my MDs’ recommendations.
So sorry for your injury Flav, And sadly right now I can relate. I’m recovering from a broken left foot after I slipped on a patch of mud and fell while walking in the park. Hopefully got about a month to go. I also like to give people multiple guesses, like skiing accident or stepped on a tennis ball before the inevitable klutzy correct answer. Take care, Flav.
I’ve pulled that move on more than one occasion. No broken bones so far, thankfully. Hope you feel better soon, Mac.
Thanks LJ,
Damn, Flav, sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon.
As a person with a messed up back I totally feel your pain. I hope you can bounce back from this, it is possible. I went to therapy for mine and it really helped. After the pain resides there are some exercises that actually help. I am not sure how old you are but there is a certain point where recovery takes longer that it would normally. Stay strong pain can wear you out.
53.
I was 50 when I hurt mine the worst. You will have to careful of thing you do from now on.
D!!! God damn no daily fantasy and Sportsbook in Puerto Rico:(
sent a pic of me in my brace to my dad and I got one of his classic responses. Not sure why he writes emails this way but it’s his patented move.
to me
You look a little out of it

Clark was a good sized dude. Looks small between those two. I just remembered Stargell‘s wind milling of his bat while in the box to get himself set right before the pitch. As he wind milled the bat, he seemed to raise himself up a little bit. Classic. He and Stretch had to scare a pitcher as they got ready to hit a rocket. Stargell was out of Alameda and Encinal High.
Stargell had career OPS of .889 and 475 bombs. WAR of 57.5
Stretch was crazily also at career OPS of .889 with the 521 bombs. WAR of 64.5.
What a pair of great power guys they were, and were great men, too.
To compare, Mays had career OPS of .940 and WAR of 156…
wow great shot.
Rutgers, Mac. On road no less about to close out #14 Wiscos. They’re tough.
Yes, finally! That’s 3 straight over ranked teams.
I wonder what would happen if Mays came out and said something like “The baseball HOF election has become a joke. After I’m gone, my estate will instruct the baseball HOF to remove my plaque from the Hall, and all my memorabilia from the HOF Museum. I will dissociate my name from the baseball HOF as long as Barry Bonds is not a part of it”…
i wonder if Mays really gives a shit. Certainly not this many shits. I’m sure he wanted Barry in but if it didn’t happen, eh, he’s still the king in that place.
Sorry to hear about your injury, Flavor.
Sky diving? Seriously???
Doubt Mays at 90 is about to make any waves – posthumously or otherwise…
i fell down at work, dawg. It was D. Wish it was DD. lqtm
Crazy Ass Hole in One by golfer Sam Ryder on the famous gladiator coliseum of drunk fans hole #16
Absolutely nuts as they have to delay the hole to clear off hundreds of water bottles and other flying spirits!
Dude will be a legend for years! Last Ace on the hole Tiger back in 97..
Losing half an inch is weird. Just don’t lose it where it counts.
lol
Sorry to hear you got injured, BF.
I had never experience real back pain before until last summer. I really wrenched my back lifting something heavy. Later that night I sneezed and experienced the most physical pain I’ve ever experienced in my life so far. Over several months, it got to feeling better. I was pretty jacked up for a while.
Tonight, Stephen A. Smith said we’ll all miss LeBron when he’s gone from the NBA. That’s the kind of thing somebody in sports media says. Fans don’t really miss opposing players when they retire. I’ll be glad when he’s gone. The Lakers will be weaker.
The Kings made a bunch of bold trades, and have won two games in a row. The early results are encouraging.
I didn’t know Sabonis was such a good passer. He reminds me a bit of Chris Webber with the brilliant passing. The Kings desperately needed someone who could give the team an identity. I think he could be it. It was sad trading Halliburton, but Sabonis is a good pick-up.
MLB seems determined to self-destruct. I’m not as optimistic about a timely resolution as I was.
This year’s Super Bowl is one of the least I’ve ever been interested in. It ranks up there with the one where Peyton Manning played for the Broncos, or something like that.
I’m not a big fan of the style of play in the NBA these days, but those final minutes of the Warriors/Lakers game were very entertaining.
Sorry about your back Craig! You talk about Stanford a lot, but not sure where you live.

thanks. I might be in touch.
Just watched 30 for 30 on Tuck rule. Good stuff. Great interplay between Charles Woodson and Brady. Worth a watch
Sky diving really???? Most gorgeous morn so far in PR!!!
