A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

When Today Is The Same As Yesterday

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on March 1, 2022

March 1st. Today has always been the unoffical beginning of Spring to me. With the dark and gloomy February in the past and baseball surfacing on the horizon, it has always been a day of hope for me. Except today.

Still feels like February….

Hopefully Biden announces tonight a complete cut off of Russian oil. So we and the Euros suck it up and pay more for gas but little cost to us to support the Ukrainians in the most minimal way possible.

Re Dubs Talk with WD and Flav comments that yeah we did not have full arsenal Sunday against the Mavs but what concerns me is about hat Kerr has done this a few times watching the team completely collapse offensively and he seems to play it out. Also was interested in other’s opinions of Wiggins always seemingly failing to step up. People ready to move on?

Unc has said same thing about Wiggins, which does have merit. He seems to score in bulk stretches and then not do so much. When Warriors do go to him and run cross screen play to get him ball he is efficient and hits corner 3 well I do like that he doesn’t force shots or looks (adapts to ball movement O) and attacks rim/paint mismatches over smaller players. I think he’s good piece to keep for scoring and defense at that spot, better than Moody.
Kuminga needs another full season behind him to be capable 25-30 minute starter, especially vs. better quality teams, imo.

In Louisiana it’s Mardi Gras day. In the rest of the US, it’s just another Tuesday.

Appears players have agreed to MLB proposal of 12 team playoffs, adding extra WC in each league.

Not true obviously. Union says no to 14 teams.
Manfred cancels first week of season.

Jesus Fucking Christ. If they can’t trade him they need to release him. He’s worth more to them not having to pay him that 25 mil but who is going to give up shit for a guy coming off shoulder surgery?

I doubt we get anything over a 3rd for him at this point, he is a gamer though and that is something. His flaws are believing he can thread any needle and holding the ball to long.

Depends on how desperate horse-face is to get a QB. If a-Rod and Russell don’t move, Jimmy’s value is high-ish. But it’ll still be high if they do move. There are no big QBs in the draft. Still think we can get a 2.

MLB and Players association have rejected the latest proposal on the table..
Manfred has canceled the 1st 2 series of the baseball season!

  11. snarkk said, on March 1, 2022 at 3:21 pm

Manfred started the lockout Dec 1. There were apparently no formal discussions until MLB made some sort of initial offer 6 weeks later, and and no physical meetings until Feb 21. The owners have figured all along, it seems obvious now, to push this out and have games cancelled, since the loss of revenue in early games isn’t that much…

The good news is, depending on when the season starts, the Giants might actually open at home.

Lol Mac wouldn’t that be something.
While they’re still getting nothing accomplished, they still could implement a rule that you need to start a home opener every other year are 2 not every 10 years Larry Baer!!

Willie, in reply to your question end of last thread, things have been open domestically here in VN for a few months now; it’s just the international borders, still closed for nearly 2 years, now due to open 3/15. I guess there was no need previously for the CDC to issue a “do not travel to Vietnam” warning because the borders were closed, but now that they’re about to open, they issued that warning. Groups from countries such as Russia (!), Australia, S. Korea, and Euro countries have already been coming in under restrictions. I know Steve is waiting urgently to be able to visit. And I have been waiting to be able to visit the US AND be able to get back to VN. Hopefully this summer.

One # I look at in NBA boxes is % on 2 pt shots. Warriors down a dozen to T Wolves at half, and that’s part of difference. On 2s, GS is 10-20, Minn 15-25.
Good luck to Paul on being able to get over to US this summer, and safe return to VN. Blade too in opposite scenario.

I wonder if the Panther fans around here are still all in on Jimmy G?

For those interested, Doreen Ketchens is supposed to be sitting in with the house band on Jimmy Kimmel tonight.
