A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Pitching and Bots

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 14, 2022

Seriously what did we do to deserve Logan Webb? And where would we be this year (or last year without him)?

Hmmmmm I don’t get it. Knight2KingIdiot promised this: “I predict we’ll see a few old-timey avatars resurrected today.”

And yet I checked and it was all just the same guys who post every day.

Could he be……full of shit?

In relation to your post Tuesday about our offense I noticed how well Suzuki has started off. He really would have been an ideal fit for us. Who is this Knight Flapper?

Giants team ERA is 2.62 and they’ve given up only 3 HRs so far. Offense and in some cases defense hasn’t been up to last year standards, but pitching looks excellent again and among NL best. Looking forward to see how rotation holds up on 13 game road swing.
Btw, saw note than J Davis homered and drove in 3 in Sac win yesterday and Hjelle only allowed 1 run in 5 innings. Remember too Ramos brief trip up/down does not count as one of the 5 times Giants are allowed to do this 2022.

I do agree that it’s sad Roberts did what he did with Kershaw. This was an effing perfect game…how many times will any SP have a chance to do that in his career, let alone someone Kershaw’s age? Ridiculous.

When Rodon’s 12 Ks in his first start numbers were brought up and reference was made to Marichal, I looked up his full stats at B/R.
Btw 1963-69, in those 7 seasons: ERA was never worse than 2.76.
Only once did he win fewer than 21 games.
    He threw 38 shutouts

KingIdiot is someone from years ago, his email is stumillersgust@gmail.com I think he’s gone by that handle here before. He referenced Twin’s death and the subsequent posts that flooded in about it as evidence that this place is full of bots. He’s too dumb/crazy to take seriously

Sure acts like SOAD. The scourge of Walnut Creek.

Tried to find a video of Miller getting blown off the mound but couldn’t find one.

The biggest downer from Kershaw’s outing: he was as good as ever.

The difference from Logan Webb in the past is simple belief in his stuff. It was always there he just had control issues and running up 60-70 pitches after 3 innings driving me crazy. He knows how to be a major league pitcher now, he slows down the the thought process when he use to just overthink every pitch.Webb has it all going now 15 straight starts with a win when he pitches(excluding that playoff no decision) his stuff is just nasty to hit now and every player and teams are talking about him. It’s early but I’m checking a box off for Webb as Cy Young he’s that dominant

Too bad Beede couldn’t figure out the same thing, it appears he never will and just that mop up role was terrible walking 3 and just praying for strikes.Found it interesting that K&K said the Giants have the catchers glove set up right down the middle and tell him try and hit that spot, and even then his pitch movement takes the ball outside.

Missed this one yesterday. The little league home run.

Well now that I have a few minutes of down time and a computer to use…
    Happy new season Flappers!
Went to Opening Day and it was great to be at the yard again. Lines were ridiculous everywhere tho.
I saw that there was some mention of the dustup with Antoan Richardson and Mike Schildt, from my perspective, although not overtly racist, there definitely were some undertones there although I doubt they were intentional. Had he been talking about me like that, I would’ve been ready to go upside his head. It feels like he’s talking about some sort of animal that ought to be handled. That’s all I have to say about that.
I feel like Monday’s game and yesterday’s game will be the templates for the majority of games this season. Good pitching and just enough offense to either eke out a win or lose a close one. With the rare Tuesday night laugher thrown in.

yeah, there was definitely an undertone to Schilt’s comment. They hugged it out yesterday apparently.

The recant sounded stiff and lame tho.

      • sfsarge said, on April 14, 2022 at 1:09 pm

I saw that, but yeah it did sound forced but I guess he had to say something.

Schidt’s forced apology at best reminded me of that manager in 42 spewing the N word constantly at Jackie Robinson before they met on the field to just appease upper baseball management..

A lot of people were surprised when the Cards fired Shildt. Now people are probably less surprised.

  13. alleykat69 said, on April 14, 2022 at 4:05 pm

Yeah Definitely unusual Zumie, The dude had 2 straight playoff appearances was named manager of the year in 2020, then gets the axe after 2021 playoffs? Something just doesn’t figure, maybe are Cardinal connection Cardinals70?Daniel has the best input on what really went down?

NBA schedule is lame. How can there be no games today?
