Another Win
Smoking a hot hitting Cleveland team like they were a traveling cartoon show was not how I saw that series going. But if all he does is win then I must defer to that (and Kap) and enjoy this (long) ride we’re on.
As usual, we have the best record in MLB. Bring on the Mets I’m sure we’ll smoke them too. Weather note: looks like this game starts dry and then lots of rain coming mid-game so not sure if this one is gonna get finished today….
Any east coast hall of fame Flappers hitting any of those games? Send me pics if you do
A sweet sweep fer sure. Bring on the Mets.
Turning into a start continuing from last year. Let’s hope this lasts all year. Got some free tickets for the Giants-Gnats on Saturday. Suzuki looking real good, Farhan let a big fish get away:
Z did spend $$ on pitching, which so far looks great. Easier to pick up bat at deadline I’d imagine. Anything to conspiracy theories I’ve read that ownership is holding him back/forcing limit to payroll? Dunno if I buy that one. Would son Charles Johnson (?) be responsible for that?
Greg Johnson, approved Nov 2019.
yeah, Greg J’s the majority owner now. Hard to know how they make decisions, but you can be sure they have a biz plan going out a decade or so, which of course includes moving tenants into the parking lot development. (I remember reading that Visa was going to move its HQ there. I’ll be glad to see the McCovey statue returned to its rightful place when the dust settles.) You’d think they anticipate money flowing in, but I bet there’s a budget now.
Great article on Harrison in the Athletic this morning, at the end of it Riggs said he looks like a left-handed Matt Cain. We just might have something there.
i could watch this all day.
I just did…
“Suzuki looking real good, Farhan let a big fish get away”
Time will tell. Right now MLB teams are trying to put together a “book” on how to pitch him. We’ll see how that goes.
As we’ve seen over the years, the Giants can’t rely on any other teams helping them with the Dodgers. The Giants always have to take care of that business themselves. The Reds were embarrassingly uncompetitive vs. the Dodgers this past weekend.
No I really believe like GH that F/H really missed the boat on Suzuki..
He’s the only major leaguer ever to start his first 4 games with 8 RBI’s and 4 walks. He’s one of the most patient hitters going.Just the type of patient and discipline Farhan/Harris seek out! 5/75 ? chump change for a 5 tool player…at 27 years old..
And maybe their is a conspiracy in the FO not allowing Z/H to engage in the RH bat they needed.
And I don’t get Harris with all his supposed ties with the Cubs in the past he couldn’t sway a better deal for Suzuki, hell throw in keys to the city In Chinatown &Japantown what better culture then that for extra comfort and the fan base he would bring in as well..
Tonight’s game rained out, doubleheader tomorrow.
You goin?
I can’t make any of the games.
As the Carpenters use to sing:Rainy Days and Mondays Always get me down..
Guess it doesn’t matter if it’s east coast are west coast( as were expected rain 🌧 later tonight as well..
Nuggets can’t contain Warriors, with or without Curry on floor. Aaron Gordon not helping .much at either end.
I’m with you Kat. Very disappointed we let him get away. Our pitchers are in a historic hot streak. 2nd longest streak EVER to start a season of starters giving up 2 runs or less. 9 games. All time best is 11 the 68 white sox. Suzuki over whichever Slater Duggar Yaz guy you want to cut / demote / trade all day every day. Grr
Like most here, I also wanted to see another good RH bat added to the lineup, but at least they seem to have nailed it with the pitching part of the roster. This pitching staff by itself will keep the team in most games. Team is 7-2 even though seven, count ’em, seven somewhat “regular” players are hitting around .200 or even well below. That could change once Wade and (cough cough) Long Gone return, but I’m guessing the team will ride the arms of the starters and take their time adding any necessary offensive production.
