Bark wars: After an 0-15 stretch to start month, he’s 3-8 with 2 walks and his 4th HR. Giants have lost 7 of last 10 games he has caught. But before that was 5 game winning streak. OPS up to .722, .338/.385
36 HRs hit yesterday. All count even if few were hit off non pitchers. 8-7 game in Sherp town yesterday.
53 runs scored in Rox 3 game homestand vs. Royals this past weekend. Rox got 27,and lost 2 of 3 including 14-10 game.
For season, they have outscored opponents 119-101 at home. After trip to SF, 41-87 on road.
mmm #1 ranked Suns probably felt same way. Interesting column in Athletic on what did them in, and Utah, vs. Mavs and “space ball” small lineup that can defend and score. For some reason Stanford guy D Powell seems to do very well vs. GS.
I’d feel better if Porter Jr. is ready to play by Wed. Let’s be real–there were some very discouraging things Warriors did in series vs. Memphis, who played most of it without their best player. And no Griz aren’t better without him. He almost won game 1 and single handedly won game 2. Griz lost 2 close games without him.
Wiggins likely gets most of assignment vs. Doncic. Mavs have much better support players than Jokic had around him. Return of J Kidd to Bay Area will be neat story. Remember him from HS days at .St. Joseph’s Alameda.
Gonzalez was the most effective Giants pitcher last night hitting a high of 81 on the FB and a low of 41 on his Effeus lob.ERA .000!! Hits a HR,, but also made a sensational catch in full sprint mode diving in foul territory, he’s been a great addition to the team.Glove work can be shaky, but his bat certainly isn’t ( broke up Wainwright’s no hit run) just looking for a positive in a horrible back to back shit show by the Giants..
I hear NBA coaches say, matter-of-factly: “This is a make-or-miss league,” conceding that whichever team shoots their 3s better that night will probably win. It seems pretty fatalistic. I don’t think NFL defensive coaches are that fatalistic.
Yeah I feel bad David Bell as well Bozo.
I doubt he expected the Reds management of trading away good ball players like Winkler and others to become a cheapskate organization ..
FWIW, just read The Stranger by Albert Camus. One trippy little book. One of the kids musta taken Philosophy so there you go. Existential fun. Written (and published) in France in 1942 during the occupation, it reads pretty modern.
“but he has options” writes Slusser, predicting tonight’s roster move to make room for LaStella. Every option-owning player on the Giants 40 man should have that noted next to “Bats: [L/R/Sw]” along with an indication of how many option trips down he’s made so far this season.
Tommy La Stella is back, Mauricio Llovera is back to give bullpen depth at Coors. Luis Gonzalez and Junior Marte optioned. Anthony DeSclafani goes to 60-day IL, so he’ll be out until late June.
Man the Giants and Z have to show all of baseball they are the option kings!
Of course Z has to get LaStella backup to show he wasn’t a mistake signing!
Sending down Gonzalez who’s been there best hitter.344? makes no freakin sense?
Guess he pitched to well to stick, I’m getting annoyed with options almost everyday, and especially when a player like Gonzalez at minimum strengthens the bench more..
Speaking of options, about 45 years or so ago, I was in Yosemite, and went to a gift-shop there at some point, and they had one of those old-fashioned paperback racks that would spin, so I spun the rack around and saw a novel called “Options,” by Robert Sheckley. The cover looked intriguing, so I bought the book. The book turned out to be hilarious and trippy. I wasn’t familiar with Sheckley and didn’t know he was known for humorous science fiction.
Here’s a description I recently saw online that describes the book well:
“Options is a 1975 absurdist science fiction novel by Robert Sheckley. The story is ostensibly about a marooned space traveller’s attempt to get a spare part for his starship, the Intrepid III. He has a robotic guard, programmed to guard him against all planetary dangers. But soon he discovers that the robot has not been programmed for the planet where they are, with comic results. However, the narrative later descends into a mass of diversions, non-sequiturs and meditations on the nature of authorship. Eventually the diversions take over the book to the extent that the author openly introduces an increasingly bizarre succession of deus ex machina in an attempt to get the novel back on track, but eventually admits defeat.”
OMG. That sounds hysterical. Funny, I found a book the same way some time in the 70s called “Friends Come in Boxes” where science has developed enough so that brain transplants from an old worn-out body to a new one are commonplace. Except for the fat that new bodies can’t be produced fast enough for demand, so brains are placed into portable boxes where the brains can communicate while in statis. Hilarity ensues.
I’m sure LaStella, like every other hitter, feels healthy enough to hit at Coors.
Marte gave up couple runs again yesterday, right? He gone, and Walton lasted what, one day?
All the moves and minors guys added–can any of them beside Gonzalez maybe–actually play MLB?
Wow nice call by Lopez, seconds before Casali’s blast he was saying how both Bart and him hit Bombs in STL and would like to see that trend keep going then Boom!
Casali is Wally Pippin Bark right now.
2Huge Bombs 💣 he must of ate 2 bowls of Wheaties before the game, are Popeyes Spinach? though that might blow easier in the squat and the ump would not be happy smelling that stench..
Just that second delay taking gamer lady away who got smoked in the dugout on Slater’s unfortunately line shot, might have thrown the pitcher off, certainly not YAZ as he crushed it!!
What a humiliation for Chris Paul and the Suns. Dubs in 5 over Mavericks. A Finals against Celtics May set all time tv ratings records.

Mavs series feels a little like Nuggets series. They got 1 guy. I’m feeling pretty confident.
Yep. Agree. They won’t shoot that well as a team for quite a while.

One of those support players is Dinwiddie, who scored 30 last night and who I greatly wish the Nets could’ve kept.
Yeah Mac. Liked SD when he played at Colorado in Pac 12. Tremendous HS player at Taft of Woodland Hills CA.
Kidd’s gonna send 2/3 guys at Steph and Klay/Poole/etc will beat them. I actually don’t even think this will be close. Dubs in 5

“No laid eggs on national tv, ok?”
Unfortunately, many eggs were laid.

I know it was his call to go to Cincy, but I still feel bad for David Bell.
Yeah I feel bad David Bell as well Bozo.
I doubt he expected the Reds management of trading away good ball players like Winkler and others to become a cheapskate organization ..
And y’all thought Marge Schott was a piece of work.

Can’t find the book. No idea who wrote it.
Huh. I did this search about 14 year ago and came up with nothing. It is Michael Coney.
viola vuala? How the fuck do you spell that?
Check out Lincoln in the Bardo, by the great George Saunders.
I’m sure LaStella, like every other hitter, feels healthy enough to hit at Coors.

Bum and his 1.78 ERA at Latrine tonight.
*gulp*
Casalilater!
Wow nice call by Lopez, seconds before Casali’s blast he was saying how both Bart and him hit Bombs in STL and would like to see that trend keep going then Boom!
9 ground ball outs from Wood. Nice play from Estrada and Belt.
Giants have hit 7 themselves through 4.
Wow, that got out of there in a hurry.
Curt Casali, Backup Bomber
Joey who?
Casali is Wally Pippin Bark right now.
2Huge Bombs 💣 he must of ate 2 bowls of Wheaties before the game, are Popeyes Spinach? though that might blow easier in the squat and the ump would not be happy smelling that stench..
now everyone’s a belletrist
Here we go . . . fucking sherpa land.
Nice.
Before Ruf double, Giants not named Casali were 3-21, all singles. Now another knock! Gotta bust this open here.
Can’t ask for a better scenario baseloaded no outs and now a run on a boot E-5 and a Flores RIB still no outs with Yaz let’s break this game open!!
stop walking guys in this park!
Tie ballgame, yuck.
Two killer walks, way to go Rogers.
Rodgers is so maddening to watch!Should of kept Gonzalez brought him in instead and throw some Effeus 41 mile an hour junk..
SHit. What’d I miss? Was 6-4.
Get the ball down Brebbia
Huh. The Brebbia aisle is movin’ on up.
One frustrating word RODGERS!!

Just that second delay taking gamer lady away who got smoked in the dugout on Slater’s unfortunately line shot, might have thrown the pitcher off, certainly not YAZ as he crushed it!!
Doval pitches around Cron and nails it down. All’s Well That Ends Well.
Woo hoo! 11-0 vs the Rocks.
Whew.
Woo Hoo
Giants hold on 7-6!!!
Casali &Yaz getting in done!
Brebbia with the W.
The last time Giants lost to the Rox was the game I met up with Flav, Chi and Sarge last August.
What a game, I thought we were gonna lose that one.
D-bags with 2 in the 9th. 5-4 Dodgers tho.
Pffffft
