A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Total Domination

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 23, 2022

Andrew Wiggins with his “Baron Davis” dunk moment. It’s really incredible how he’s elevated his game this series. I know he was an all star but he’s had long stretches in the season where he was invisible. Now the question is, will the series go the 5 i predicted or just get shut down in four?

Giants are tough to discuss after a game like Sunday’s.

Like the Giants, I missed yesterday’s game. I saw that Luis Gonzalez has now pitched more innings than Kervin Castro, never would’ve called that one.

Meaningless stat of the day, the Giants are 2-6 since trading Dubon.

Weekend series be of those naked reality checks…now what is Farhan and Japler going to do about it.

Our Dubs in 5 prediction looking very in trouble. The Mavs have no chance in stopping us. I never thought about betting the game but easy pickens would have been taking Dubs at +2.5.

The Warriors are really impressing me during these playoffs. They looked dead in the water a couple of different times this season, but they are really gelling when it counts the most. Jordan Poole is becoming a star right before our eyes, Wiggins is killing the Mavs and showing the breadth of talent everyone has always said he has. He has a seriously well-rounded game. At times he’s the best player on the floor and that’s very impressive given the depth of talent remaining in the playoffs.

And the Splash Brothers are fully back to doing their thing.

They are a really well-built team that plays well together. Frankly, the brilliant Mavs look a little overmatched. Some of these experts are going to look pretty dumb when it all shakes out.

Hopefully, the W’s can finish off this series and take it all the way. With the Giants shitting the bed, that would be really nice.

Little concerned about Porter going out, hope it’s not serious. With him and Payton out, that’s two important depth pieces not available. Both those guys fill important roles.

  5. willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 8:13 am

Moody has filled in OK so far off bench. Next series obviously will be lot tougher so it would be much to their advantage to have Porter and Payton available. Looney and Wiggins dominating, who woulda thunk?

  6. willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 8:17 am

Not a lot Z/H nor Kapler can do right now. Pitching has not held up lately (except for Rodon Saturday) and they are missing some hitters with Wade Jr and Belt out again. Losing Casali is blow too and Mets are in town next for 3. Kinda surprised with how warm it’s been in SF Bay Area no bombs yesterday for day game. More hot days to come too.

It was sad to see the Giants not be competitive against the Padres this past weekend. Even when losing some games, we fans expect some reasonable level of entertainment, and that wasn’t there.

  8. willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 11:15 am

Even after scoring 2 runs last 2 days, Giants are second only to Dogs in NL for runs per game.
However, they are 11th NL for team ERA and have given up second most hits.
Junis and Wood were not good and other than Hjelle there aren’t any replacements, other than opener games.
Doval lost Friday game and guys that followed Junis kept allowing Pads to rebuild leads.

Yeah, this series ain’t going 5:

    • willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 5:21 pm

thanks Mac that was fabulous. Love the old FM blues stuff. Peter Green? Danny Kirwan? Jeremy Spencer?

      • Macdog said, on May 23, 2022 at 5:50 pm

That’s from their 2nd album with Green and Spencer

I’m happy for the success of the Warriors, and I think they’re going to roll to the championship this season, in a truly awesome team effort. But, Green’s act has gotten pretty old. I’m tired of it. I won’t miss him when he eventually retires. Steph will be missed a lot by fans around the entire NBA when he retires someday, but Green won’t be missed, other than by Warrior fans.

  11. zumiee said, on May 23, 2022 at 1:48 pm

And, sure, the ref made a horrible call on the phantom back-court violation; but still, Green holding the ball and arguing was ridiculous. Good grief, can’t he just let it go? That kind of stuff always makes me want to flip the channel to something else for a while. It’s hard enough for me to watch the NBA with all the 3-point shots.

  12. zumiee said, on May 23, 2022 at 1:53 pm

Barkley’s schtick against the Warriors is a tired act, and pretty ridiculous; but I do get what his main beef is. He’s just handling it badly. Barkley doesn’t like the current style of play in the NBA with all the 3-point shots, and he sees the Warriors as one of the main teams that changed the NBA in that direction, and so he wants to see the Warriors lose. But all the teams are shooting a zillion 3s now, so it’s ridiculous to hold that against the Warriors.

  13. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 2:23 pm

Barkley’s not even doing that. He hates the fans because they keep reminding him that he has zero rings. The Warriors scored 62 points in the paint in game 2, for fuck’s sake.

They are beating Dallas’s soft interior defense, especially Doncic, relentlessly. Come on. Fucking Looney scored 21 on that defense.

Doncic’s mid-air flop yesterday was spectacularly lame. Good to see Wiggins fucking posterize his ass.

    • zumiee said, on May 23, 2022 at 4:03 pm

Yeah, there’s a whole thing between Barkley and the fans, but my memory of it is that it started during the Warriors’ first championship run of this dynasty when he kept predicting against the Warriors. And in the studio show over the years he’s often expressed negativity towards all the 3-point shooting.
But, yeah, the whole Barkley/Warrior fans thing has a life of its own now, and Barkley thinks it makes for good TV schtick, which it probably does. He’s got a showman’s grasp of TV.

      • zumiee said, on May 23, 2022 at 4:04 pm

His biggest vulnerability is that he didn’t win a championship, so the fans jumped right on that. 🙂

  14. zumiee said, on May 23, 2022 at 4:06 pm

That TNT studio group does a good job overall, but I’m not into Shaq’s mumbling. It really is hard to understand him sometimes.

  15. zumiee said, on May 23, 2022 at 4:08 pm

Someone’s going to pay Tom Brady a huge amount of money to be a broadcaster, and there’s no guarantee he’ll be any good at it. It’s probably hard to predict, though. NBC was sure that Bill Walsh would be great at it, and he wasn’t.

  16. zumiee said, on May 23, 2022 at 4:10 pm

It’s a surprise to see that the analyst for River Cats’ TV games is Steve Sax. And he’s doing a good job at it.

  17. willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 5:29 pm

Zum I can’t stand Draymond either, and have running battle with 2 of my coaching buddies. One of them called me after game 2 comeback, and despite all that went on with Green he’s convinced GS is so much better team with him on floor. My other friend says there is so much he does that cannot be quantified/show up in scorebook and Dray has to be Dray out there.

Not saying they are wrong but he makes way too many forced ill advised passes and turnovers for such a seasoned vet. The whole thing with him badgering refs is awful look and opposite of how you would teach younger players to act. Kerr can only hope he doesn’t get in any more trouble that could bring about a suspension…something he has seen before that crippled Warriors vs. LeBron Kyrie and Cavs.

    • unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 7:38 pm

So does Steph, but Dray has been all over the place. I was glad he fouled out the other night as he was a mess.

But if Porter misses time we have to have Dray playing.

  24. Bozo said, on May 23, 2022 at 7:37 pm

Cobb looked shell shocked by the time he gave up the HR.

    • Macdog said, on May 23, 2022 at 7:40 pm

What an awful pitch, first base open and the one guy on Mets who should be pitched around.

  25. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 7:41 pm

Can we fucking score with this gift given us?

  26. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 7:43 pm

    Nope.

  27. Macdog said, on May 23, 2022 at 7:45 pm

    This team is lost.

  28. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 7:45 pm

    There’s your Giants replay!!!

This team is really sucky now,.

  29. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 8:21 pm

Does it feel like we are simply gonna lay down?

    • Macdog said, on May 23, 2022 at 8:25 pm

How is this lineup gonna score 6 . . .now 7?

  30. Macdog said, on May 23, 2022 at 8:52 pm

Bart gets pinch-hit for by a minor league stiff, what’s the point of that?

  31. snarkk said, on May 23, 2022 at 8:58 pm

For the first time in his tenure, I’m starting to scratch my head about some of these Farhan moves. I get that Dubon had to be dealt because he was out of options and it was a numbers game and Estrada had to be kept, but this Piershitsky guy, the catcher, he’s what is obtained in return? The guy is worse than Bart — we’ve no catchers down below at all? I don’t even know half the guys names on the 26 man active roster now. This team may make the expanded playoffs, but I’m not much invested in it yet, and I may not be…

    • unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:05 pm

Pereda is actually hitting a little in AAA. Woulda liked to see him get a shot.

We are a fucking AAA team now. Fairchild? Parlo? LLovera? Papierski?

Playoffs? Playoffs?!? PLAYOFFS??? At this rate I doubt it. Unless guys get healthy and stop struggling.

Painful to watch this Especially when the first 5 runs were self-inflicted.

  32. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:01 pm

Damn. Lotta Mets fans in the house.

    Who the fuck is pitching?

  33. snarkk said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:02 pm

Who the phuck is Mauricio Llovera and why does he keep giving up taters and line shots?…

  34. xoot said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:04 pm

Is this a baseball franchise or a fucking dalmation mill?

    • unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:06 pm

Well, we are laying down like dogs . . .

      • xoot said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:07 pm

        gettin kicked too. “I wouldn’t treat a dog . . .” Bobby Blue Bland

      • willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 10:23 pm

Oh man I have that LP, Dreamer. Wouldn’t Treat a Dog tremendous cut.

      • willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 10:39 pm

When you come to the end of the road is beautiful cut too. Larry Carlton is in band, plus Wilton Felder and Ernie Watts.

  35. snarkk said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:13 pm

Well, I dropped into this game just to see what was going on with this squad, and now I see that another pummeling is in progress, after yesterday’s. Time to drop out. I’m all in to watch the Dubs, see them through to reach the finals, and take on Boston. That would be a great matchup. If the Dubs get title #4 under Kerr, it rivals the Niners run in the 80’s and 90’s, and Steph will be right there with Montana…

  36. alleykat69 said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:21 pm

Rothschild Fairchild you can’t be seriously winning with names like his, C Paprika,P Deep throat Loveless,,and infielder Don’t Pardo..All recent Z’man pickups with no hitting history are pitching yet their up right now??
Vosler,Williams( not sure did they just cut him?) even Kirzan would not of been worse , even Walton showed some speed and hustle, I just don’t get why Z keeps bringing in useless stiffs!

  37. Bozo said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:24 pm

Luis Gonzalez out of the pen again. This is so wrong.

    • willedav said, on May 23, 2022 at 10:25 pm

Guy can hit but hope they don’t blow out his arm.

  38. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:25 pm

Man, we are in laughingstock territory.

  39. Macdog said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:28 pm

This really is a fucking embarrassment

  40. xoot said, on May 23, 2022 at 9:31 pm

Giants will be under .500 by June 1.

  41. Winder said, on May 23, 2022 at 10:19 pm

We truly suck. We can’t hit good pitching and our pitching is fucking sad. We have a good shot at the cellar.
