Back to Winning Time!
very nice bounce back from the team last night. Hope they can play today. I guess the only thing that would disrupt that would be if they couldn’t get to the ball park safely?

Saw video of the flooded Miami streets. That’s why we pay the ca weather tax!

2. Mike Yastrzemski (L) CF
3. Wilmer Flores (R) 1B
4. Joc Pederson (L) RF
5. Brandon Crawford (L) SS

7. Donovan Walton (L) 2B
8. Jason Vosler (L) 3B
9. Joey Bart (R) C
P: Logan Webb (R)
Cubs activated Caleb Kilian to pitch second game of DH today. This is one of two guys they got from Giants for Kris Bryant, other being OF Alex Canario. .At the time he was in Richmond AA and had 2.43 ERA in 60 innings after pitching well before at High A Eugene. This could be someone Giants will regret losing.
Pav tweeted Slater is back, Hjelle sent to Sac.
Holy crap what a uni.
Third different one in 3 days.
They get progressively worse…
Not surprising with Hjelle going down he’s just a part of the “Option Boys” Z will use all season..
Giants moving up on that triples list with Crawford getting one lol 😂
Bad break on Estrada’s smash off the pitcher holding Crawford at 3rd. Damm no runs out of the inning..
Wow look at Vosler going off again that bomb was crushed!!
Donnie Doubles clears the bases with his 7th double in his 8 hits wow..
4-0 keep it going!!
webb just came unglued, arrggh. SPs not going far, with a lead, yuck
On the radio Kuip said Webb was visibly upset about being taken out…
He kinda off slammed the ball into Kap’s hand then went straight into the tunnel to I’m sure yell out some F-Bombs!!
and then the hit off Brebbia, which Webb was watching, put all the runs on him. He’d already thrown like 26 pitches or so and gotten 2 outs. Needed to be better to stay in.
Maybe allitle unglued but Webb had 2 outs no way he didn’t deserve to finish the inning with a chance for the win. He’s pissed off and I don’t blame him as Brebbia Aisle comes in and screws the pooch and it now tied WTF is Kapler doing pulling him there?
Craw down to .218. 😦
When will Bart be sent down? I’m calling it as June 20th
Had his contract year in 2021…
How can a MLB team carry a guy who hits .156 and K’s 50% of the time?
Baggs flat out said he can’t hit right now in Athletic. Isn’t anyone except other young guys at AAA, so idk.
Guy threw Craw 6 straight sliders and finally put one where he could yank it. Giants score here, heads gonna roll in OF.
This game is on Kapler if they blow it, you don’t pull your top pitcher along with Rodon in the 5th inning.
Damm you Rodgers u get a gift strike 2 then you hit the batter!
2 on no outs pathetic now
Yeah great now a balk you suck Rodgers!
Rogers is not a high leverage guy.
Kap mismanaging the Pen in this one. Brebbia came in to give up the equalizer runs, earlier…
A hit batter and a balk.
Meltdown by Rogers…
Ballgame thanks Giants for blowing this game my god what a shitshow!’
Jesus saves Marlins.
He was in CF top 9 and could have caught Craw’s ball.
but what a pffft bottom 9 for Rogers.
Rogers has the lowest Ks on the active staff. He doesn’t belong pitching late…
Kapler sticks with Rodgers even when he gives up 7 runs on 7 hits awhile ago but pulls his ace who should of got atleast another hitter to get a chance for the win! This loss is on Kapler all the way!
Not to mention Kap pulled Joc from hitting in the 9th in favor of Slater, just off the IL. Huh?
Joc has been hitting like Bonds since they had a convo two weeks ago in SF. He’s been crushing the ball, smoked a double earlier in the game. So Kap pulls him for Slater, who maybe had a few warm up ABs in the minors, or maybe not? Playing the L/R game there is just nonsense. That’s just pure, unadulterated over-managing crap…
Giants still value groundball pitchers, including SPs like Wood and Webb, for good reason. Rogers, whose entrance music should be Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign”, was effective last season at it and is again without hard contact, witness 0 HRs allowed. He undid himself today by hitting a guy on full counts and then balking runner on 2b to 3b. dunno what he was thinking there but that was brain fart that ultimately cost him. Otherwise the fly out would have been harmless.
The lack of Ks doesn’t bother me–job of any reliever is to get batters out, .by whatever means necessary.
Missed today’s game, looked like an infuriating one. Looking at the 9th, was there any talk of walking the guy who got the sac fly to load the bases instead of having 2nd & 3rd? Probably would’ve lost anyway.
Estes raised the point, and Kuiper made the point that the Giants like how Rogers matches up against lefthanded hitters.
The batter did a good piece of hitting. He hit that sweeping high inside pitch that Rogers throws to lefthanders and was able to muscle that fly ball out there. It was deep enough to score the runner no matter what, but I don’t know what Yaz was doing out there. He did a spin move to get more momentum and then……made a throw that bounced at second base.
Thanks. I did see Rogers had a 1-2 on him, that probably factored in too.
Kat, I got bad news for you. Today’s GM’s and managers don’t care much about a pitcher’s W/L record, and it’s not much of an issue to managers in the 5th inning anymore. The pitchers probably still care about their W/L record, but the GMs, managers, and baseball media don’t anymore. Brian Kelly on the MLB Network wants it eliminated completely.
Fans still care to some extent, and the older ex-players like Kruk and Kuip do, too, who played in an era when the pitcher W/L record was extremely important in the sport. If anyone told Krukow to his face that his 20 win season is over-rated as an accomplishment, Krukow would not take that well.
Perhaps Krukow blew his arm out in that 20 win season. He was 5-6 the next season, and never the same pitcher. Only Krukow really knows for sure.
Pitchers are no longer paid for their win totals and they know it. Ron Bryant was a very lucky mediocrity. Webb had thrown 87 pitches after 4 & 2/3 innings. He stays, if he doesn’t walk Chisholm. If anyone deserves “blame” for the loss, it’s Webb, who blew a 4 run lead. As it is, Brebbia made a good pitch that Cooper did a good job of driving into RF.
Not the pitchers’ duel at Dodger Stadium people were probably expecting.
I’m thinking Alonso may be the closest thing we’ve seen to early 2000s Barry Bonds for sheer scary power-hitting.
He just hit another 3 run bomb…
Met pitcher David Peterson is the son of Doug Peterson who trained a slightly accomplished horse named Seattle Slew in 1978 after they fired the great Billy Turner in 1977…
For a second I thought that was the guy who swapped wives with another player, but that was Fritz Peterson.
I’m still waiting for the movie … two natural men out in a field of dreams.
Joc won me over in the crazy 13-12 win over the Mets when he swung for a key base hit instead of trying to hit his 4th homer of the game.
That’s a team player…
Kap owns this loss with Webb. Webb blew up at the wrong time, but Kap should have left him in to fix his own mess. Thats what Aces do
The again, aces aren’t supposed to give up the tying HR in the 9th to a 190 hitter after the manager shows confidence in him.
WTF is up w/Kap? He doesn’t seem to have a feel for when to get guys. Rogers gives up 7 in 1/3 of an inning, pulling Rodon, and now Webb, even leaving Webb in the 9th to give up the bomb? He only trusts them some of the time?
